  1. Date:10/24/2004 5:05:07 AM Author:jglei701 Does anyone happen to have any of the cargo ships that appeared on the city journal Aldebaran, by Fredval? He has since left Simtropolis and, though he left a link to the site he got them from, the link is now defunct! I wonder if anyone maybe happened to download them, or perhaps they've been seen somewhere else? Any help you can give would be great!! jglei701quote> That was the page with all the 19th century Japanese warships. The page no longer exists, and I don't know of anywhere else you can get those BATs.
  2. A few new lots. Small and large bus depots by Uta. Download the small one here and the large one here . They also act as bus stops. NOB has recreated Kake station from his native Hiroshima. You can see it and get it at his site . Raika has made some sloped concrete walls for highways next to inclines. Go here and click on Concrete Wall to download. EDIT: It seems these walls are good for lining canals and rivers too.
  3. More stuff. Here are two Japanese Shinto shrines by Kei. There's a middle-sized and a small one. The middle-sized one is 4 x 5, 800 to plop, and 15 to maintain, and the small one is 3 x 3, 700, and 10. Download them together here . APTX has recreated the Kanagawa Prefectural (=State) Capitol. It's 8 x 5 and provides 700 jobs. Download here .
  4. Two new creations. First, NOB has created a SC4 version of Kabe passenger train station in Hiroshima. The lot offers bus service as well. Download it here . Next is Rougetsu's combination bus stop, subway station, and parking garage. Get it here .
  5. There are four new things for me to tell you about. First, a river bank lot by Hayate. The picture is very dark so I'm not really sure what it looks like, but if you're curious, try it out. Picture here , download here . Next, a mod by NOB that changes the moving vans in the game to have advertisements for Coca Cola or Seven Eleven. Go to his site and have a look. Then, there is a new hotel by Raika in the shape of a sailboat. It is a landmark, but has jobs from all the C categories. Get it here . Finally, a new standard subway station by 211naoya. Download here .
  6. I check all the sites in my signature at least three or four times a week, Craigsters. You don't have to worry about the ones in my signature. What would be helpful is if you would tell me when you find a Japanese web site with SC4 BATs that is not in my signature. That BBS you linked to in your post is in my signature (Sim City Force BBS) and I check it often.
  7. Date:10/13/2004 6:18:20 AM Author:Craigsters Here's a new; western style waste incineration plant a (APTX production) quote> Craigsters, I appreciate you, or anyone else, helping to introduce Japanese BATs here, but please make sure of your facts. That is not APTX's site, but Mayor Overpop's. Also, there is a description of the lot, plus details of the real-life building it is based on, all in English, on Mayor Overpop's site here . (I don't think the lot is particularly Western style, unless all modern incinerator plants are by default Western style - is there a non-Western style for garbage incinerators?) Mayor Overpop was saying that his lot is similar to APTX's, and I guess, based on the Dictionary.com translation, that's where you assumed the lot was an APTX lot. Why is this site so darn slow recently? Here's a new creation by NOB. It's the Ujina car ferry port in Hiroshima. It will not overwrite the original car ferry port (thanks, NOB). It has passenger rail and bus connections. This seems like a very useful lot, even if you are not interested in recreating Hiroshima city. Download here .
  8. Here's a new creation by Raika. It's an agricultural research facility. It's 5 x 5, and acts as a university, but employs more workers. Download here .
  9. Here are two new creations. First, a skyscraper by Dareka. See it here . It's scaled at 710m high (142 stories). Download it here . (Windows CAB format) There is no other info given. Next is Osaka's Tsutenkaku Tower by MK. It is a landmark in the game. Download here . (I think somebody requested this earlier in this thread.)
  10. Date:10/4/2004 9:45:32 AM Author:yarabundi Anyone, please : I downloaded the rectinnal power plant from Somy but it appears on the game with the undesirable box meaning that some props or programs are missing, I suppose. Help !!quote> Somy's site says you must have these installed: Lot Editor http://simcity.ea.com/coolstuff/loteditor/loteditortool_01.php Rush Hour Building as Props bldgprop_vol2.dat SimCity 4 Building as Props bldgprop_vol1.dat SimCity 4 Update http://simcity.ea.com/coolstuff/bat/index.php By the way, that Pokemon plane is NOB's.
  11. Here's a Japanese style water tower by One. It's 3 x 3 and outputs a little less water than the major pumping station that comes with Rush Hour. Download here . (LZH format archive)
  12. Somy is working on a really cool airship for SC4. There is nothing to download just yet, but you can see what he has done so far on his page .
  13. Date:9/26/2004 1:36:10 PM Author:Alkaola Those white trash props on those japanes/chinese buildings are really annoying me , what is it? quote> Can you be more specific?
  14. Here's an interesting landmark by Kaku. It's an ancient stone structure built by a vanished civilization with unknown functions that is shown with religious cult members at its base. It is called the Kanzashi. Apparently this creation is based upon the Nintendo Game Cube game Kyojin no Doshin (Doshin the Giant in English?). Doshin was reborn each morning at this structure. I don't have a GC, so I don't know anything more about the game. There are no game details given for this creation. Get the lot here .
  15. Date:9/24/2004 9:54:31 PM Author:Billy_bob55 it would be cool if you could translate your webpagequote> Who is you? Ragutaro updated his Matsumoto Castle. It costs 100,000 to plop, 400 to maintain, hires 520, and it now has a landmark effect, a new UI, and will appear in the landmark menu. Get it here . NOB re-released his Gundam lots here .
  16. I've got a bunch of stuff to show you today. First, the famous Kinkaku Temple , created by Ragutaro. It's 50,000 to plop, 300 to maintain, 12,000 to bulldoze, and is a 5 x 6 lot. Get it here . Next are three things by NOB. There is a Japanese house set, a taxi (Kabetetsu Taxi), and the Fujiwara Tofu Shop. All of this is explained in English at NOB's site. Go here and look for the Others section. Finally, again thanks to Craigsters, I can show you these slightly strange creations by... hmm, I can't find the name of the creator. Go here to see three pictures. The top one is of a Nintendo Game Cube building, which is an industrial lot offering 5000 jobs, is 100 to plop and 100 to bulldoze, and that needs electricity or will shut down. The next one is a PlayStation 2 building that acts as a landmark costing 256 to plop and 5 to maintain. The last lot is a MacDonald's, but the creator says he forgot what the costs to plop and maintain are. Click on the blue clip icons to download.
  17. Thanks to Craigsters' heads-up, I can show you this BAT by APTX: It's a trash incinerator with a capacity of 200,000. The size is 6 x 4. No other info. Download here .
  18. Two more creations here. First, a monorail to el-train transfer station by APTX. Buses stop there and UDI is possible through the avenue below the station. The capacity is 20,000 and the size is 14 x4. Download here . The second creation is an experimental lot. By plopping it, you can flatten a small area of terrain. Afterward, you demolish the lot. This may have been done before, but perhaps there might be something different about this lot that modders might be interested in. It is 2 x 2 and costs 100 to plop and to demolish. Oka created this, and you can get it here .
  19. Welcome back, NOB! Here are two new creations. The first is by Daiku. It is a growable stage 4 R$$$ lot. Get it here . The next is the Electronic Arts Japan building! It's by Kamitsushicho (his name means mayor of the overpopulated city). He also goes by the name MayorOverpop. Go here for an English description and to download the English version. Here is my translation of MayorOverpop's fictional description for this building:
  20. Very good job. I will add that to my signature. The date of the page is Sept. 18th, so it's possible that Somy put the page up very recently. However, you deserve a 5 bunny salute. Here's a new country train station. It costs half as much as the default passenger station. Download here . (LZH format archive)
  21. Date:9/14/2004 3:40:12 PM Author:Sir Gawain Anyone here speek Japanese? If so could you can ask if we can just move all of these lots to the STEX? (translating of copyright info would be needed, and lot info) Sorry if this has been asked, I just don't feel like reading the entire thread.quote> I do, and so do NOB of Japan, RaikaS, and 2ch.net simplayer. There may be others. You are asking that all Japanese lots be translated and moved to this site. Do you realize how much work that will take? Have you thought about whether all of the Japanese BAT creators want to have their lots moved to this site? What would you say if someone asked that Simtropolis and all the lots here be translated into Japanese, or moved to a Japanese site? I'm sure that Simtropolis welcomes all BAT/lot creators from all countries to upload their creations here. However I think it's another matter to try to centralize all user-created content to this site, especially if the reason is for the convinience of just one group of people. The reaction to move the lots to Simtropolis is likely to be stop showcasing our lots to foreign web sites where the members make too many demands. On the other hand, if you are willing to organize this project and translate the hundreds of lots yourself, then I wish you the best of luck. I will invite Japanese BAT/lot creators to post their creations on Simtropolis, and I have invited them to do so in the past. However, the major hurdle for them is the language barrier - accessing and uploading here require lots of foreign language skills (for them) and translating their lots require even more foreign language work. That is the main reason why they don't upload here. It might help if there were Japanese (or other language) versions of the upload lot to STEX page. However, the lot itself would still not be in English.
  22. Here's a nice park that you might like. The Sanctuary, by BriPizza. It goes in the landmark menu, costs 60,000 to plop and 50 a month to maintain, and reduces pollution. Go here to look at two more pictures and to download the lot (the download link is in the middle of the page).
  23. Date:9/12/2004 2:34:16 PM Author:jtportland yes, thank you Armandeus!! and i know this is already in your sig, but i didn't see any pics of this posted and i thought it was worth posting a pic cus these buildings are so cool! Some very Realistic malls: A cool building located in Tokyo these and many more cool stations can be found here: http://home.s04.itscom.net/aptx/ quote> You're welcome. I think I introduced those lots when I introduced APTX's site (that first picture is of the Isetan Dept. Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo). If you look at the middle of page 16 of this thread, you can see that I gave English descriptions to all the lots, buses, and trains on his site. I didn't post pictures like you did because there were too many to post.
  24. NOB has created a new train station, based on Yokogawa station in Hiroshima. It has passenger rail, el-train, and bus service. Go to his page to see it and download. He has a description in English, and he has links to the texture set you need to download.
  25. Date:9/9/2004 9:49:12 AM Author:eddiem Here are 2 links to lots with .ens or .eni files http://www.bripizza.net/sc4/cgi-bin/lime/lime.cgi?bcb514 http://www.bripizza.net/sc4/cgi-bin/lime/lime.cgi?mine quote> I'm not sure, but looking at the file names, I can guess that bubicon.eni might be a menu icon, and bcbldg514pcm.ens might be a query sound (because pcm is part of a name of a sound compression format, I think). See if there is a difference between running the game with these files in your plugin directory and taking them out. Sorry if that's not much help.
