  1. Another thing is the SC2K maps are small, no way to make them bigger. My goal is to have the, what, 300 launch arcologies so they launch into space then I can stop playing the game
  2. Well, it's working fine now. I don't know what changed, but the animations are working the way they should. Only thing is, it warps the desktop colors when it starts, probably a color issue like you were saying. Other than that it's working fine. Never noticed that simcity2K is a lot harder than 4, getting enough money to have a surplus, etc.
  3. So you don't get the problems with the animations I'm getting? Here's something someone mentioned that could possibly help, though he was talking about using it with the version of simcity 2000 you can download from his (the site he works for/works with anyway) site which is: http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/ Here's what he recommends http://downloads.sourceforge.net/dfendreloaded/D-Fend-Reloaded-1.3.0-Setup.exe Anyone ever used it/have experience with it?
  4. Connection Between Far Away Regions

To me, it never seemed like a good idea (like I was doing at first, without knowing it) to place industry on the same city tile as residential, or perhaps even commercial. Pollution problems aplenty. I think that's one of the reasons/uses of regions, so you can have interdepedent cities and one doesn't have to have all the necessary zones in the same place. Only thing is, the environment adviser will keep hassling you to fix the pollution in the city, and I don't want to, because I want it to be an industrial city that other people come to work to from other cities. Nor do I want to enact the clean air ordinances is which would stifle the industry. I also wish I could have an airport in these cities, and have the people commute there from other cities, rather than having the build one in every city that wants one, another thing the transportation adviser will never leave you alone about until you fix.
  5. Connection Between Far Away Regions

So, how do you connect regions, then? Sounds interesting. For the record, you can, correct? He doesn't just mean connecting city tiles in the same region?
  6. Or, anything you can do to it to tweak it work like it's supposed to? I do have a version of it on disc, but you can see the problems I've having with it here, in this thread (on another forum, I'm simcityer) http://simcityforum.com/showthread.php?t=1419 I never got very much into 2K because at the time I bought it, I wasn't very well literate on computer terminology and while we did have 4MB's of RAM on our 486 back in December of 93, that's ALL the system had. I did get 4MB's of RAM for an old 386 I was given, and it would run, but too slow to be playable. It would take literally 5 minutes to respond to a click! It's strange, because I remember a friend of mine had a Mac LC and it would run it much faster than my 386 would, but his father said the processor was only equivalent to a 286 or slow 386. My version of A-train ran much faster on our 486 than it did on his.
  7. SimCity: Wishlists

Fusion doesn't necessarily mean nuclear fusion I know, but the ones in 2K and 3K were nuclear fusion plants. I m talking about fusing hydrogen, not using hydrogen or hydrogen isotopes in chemical reactions. fusing hydrogen IS how a fusion plant works.........sure it uses deuterium and tritium, but those are names for hydrogen isotopes... I know. I thought you meant say using a chemical reaction of say 4 hydrogen atoms (some of or all of them being deuterium) and 4 oxygen atoms 2H2+O2---> 2H2O, that's a chemical reaction Whereas fusing 2 deuterium nuclei gives you an isotope of helium, and a lot more energy. I think you know what I mean though. Fusion though is just another word for joining though, it doesn't necessarily mean nuclear fusion, which is what the fusion plants in 2K and 3K were.
  8. burst water pipes

Then how do I tell if the pipes have enough funding? There isn't a seperate slider for it (or graph) is there?
  9. burst water pipes

I'm saying this shouldn't be due to funding, when you increase/decrease funding for water the capacity for water is what goes up on the graph(unless you don't have enough pumps, etc)- that is what funding effects. But, despite having enough funding, and thus enough capacity, the pipes are still bursting. If it's not because of funding, then why is this happening?

  11. SimCity: Wishlists

The terrain is randomized, there is no terraforming. That's trading one for one, why not both... Yes, I'd like randomizing, people able to choose what percent water and land you want, and if you want a coast or a river, you can do all this manually, and it take forever to do the whole region.
  12. burst water pipes

The funding is the capacity, funding is what increases it under the budget menu.
  13. burst water pipes

What's causing them. Someone told me insufficient funding, but in water graph capacity is above usage.
  14. Connection Between Far Away Regions

I didn't know you could connect regions, only city tiles within a region.
  15. You know, I did some thinking and realized, they are not the only ones to release something with the same name, a remake. I mean think about it, there was the fugitive, the old and new versions, Nightmare on Elm Street- the 1984 version and the more recent one called that as well. As well as Friday the 13th, Dracula, etc. But, those were movies, games can be quite different, so can movies.
