Sandbox mode mayors mansion
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to optiben's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
shouldn't need a town hall. everything should be unlocked from the get go. -
no students enrolled... Is this just a bug...
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to happyrobbie's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yea I've had that in a few cities although I'm not exactly sure why. UNI or school has always been in a place where it was easy to get, no traffic issues. Will be just humming along. Then I'll exit game and come back later and no one will go to school! Not sure if its related or just some more magic math on the part of the game but ill check region view where two other cities of mine also have a university and they're sending me 10,000 students a piece even though there are not 10,000 students in the whole region. I noticed this before 3.0 so not sure. Also I started making sure I didn't exit a game before the end of the school day. May not be at all related but haven't had that problem in a week now. -

How is tax collected?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Handyprint's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yea I don't know if the 3 minute rule still works Rufus. Seems like they may have caught on to that one. Don't hold me to that though. Personally I will zone a bunch of low wealth and then periodically jack the taxes to 20%. For a couple of game days at a time. You'll lose some sims but they'll be back. They always come back!! -
Patch 3.0 released
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Rufus Honker IV's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Well don't understand the reasoning for the tree fix? But fingers crossed they at least fix some traffic issues. Lol!! -
Was it 2.1? If so that was a patch that fixed city processing issues.

That's an interesting take on pollution. That c That's an interesting take on pollution. That city I posted a pic from has been running for about 4 game years and like I said its the only city in the region. So I'm not sure what I'm missing. Maybe I'll have to play a little longer. I do have to plant trees about twice a game day. I've been able to keep deaths at zero with a hospital and a clinic but I'm still getting heavy pollution. I have a university and a well educated population. So if you can think of something I should do different I'm up for suggestions at this point. Good video by the way. -

There was a small update earlier today but that was for cities not processing properly. -

just had this happen. lol....thought i would share for you lucky ones out there with no pollution problems post 2.0. This is a sandbox game only city in the region. afraid to play my other cities forgot to mention, those are hi-tech buildings. -
Finally some info from Maxis on post 2.0 (works in progress)
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Board_Marshal's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yea sorry, I agree they maybe hard at wor to fix these issues and I'm not debating the fact that the issues maybe complicated but on the other hand this could have been better avoided by better play testing. Or they should have delayed release or they should have had a better beta. Some I these core mechanics have been broken probably since they were made. I especially don't like that when they release a patch they make the game even more unplayable then it was. Now instead if tricking traffic I have huge pollution problems to deal with? What's next? -
How many of you are still playing simcity5?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Bergrar's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I stopped when 2.0 came out. I actually haven't played even though I downloaded the update. After reading the issues with this update I've just had enough. I shouldn't have to trick mechanics into doing what they should be doing. Kind of defeats the purpose. I was having problems with pollution in non industrial low pop. Cities before the update and now from what I gather its worse for some people. Still think this game could be great if the revs would get their heads out of their butts and actually test something before they dump useless updates on us. -
No that is a decent build. You'll be satisfied. I chose expandibility. I didn't buy too end everything but I also got some great deals with everything. And I hate to say it but this year again is when hardware limits will be raised. Especially as new console hardware comes out. There are already some pretty taxing games. Not the ones everyone is listing like borderland 2 and skyrim which have come out some time ago or are completely optimized for a broad range of hardware. But nice job to the op. my main point wa there are some pretty good deals out there for every price range.

2.0 pollution problem?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Board_Marshal's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
Yea that's just great. I haven't played since update but I did have a city with no industry and only roughly a 140k low mid and high pop. Clean power and sewage. And people were complaining of air pollution so I watched data view and in the middle of the map at random times I would get a really dark cloud of heavy pollution. Was hoping this would be fixed. Traffic is low because I have to trick traffic into flowing a certain way because they are not smart enough to use alternate routes. I know this has been said many times before but I'm starting to feel cheated. -
I'm sorry if you posted this already but is this a barebones kit? And where are you looking at buying it? The stuff you have listed will run some games but not very well. My advice if you are planning on gaming with it plan for expandibility. I built a new rig a week before this as well as a buddy. He bought from new egg and I bought from tiger direct. Mine is a full tower gaming rig with tons of expandibility and his is a mid with quite a bit too. I spent 800 and he spent 700 You don't want to spend 500 bucks and in a couple months have to spend a few hundred just to get up to par

Patch 2.0 drops Monday
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to Rufus Honker IV's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Looking forward to this although a little dissappointed that no major update to traffic system. Between that and the random disasters (which I'm glad they are doing something about) those have been my two major issues. The random disasters were getting so bad that I was getting them every 10mins! I even stopped playing and went to sandbox mode because it was that bad. Lol. I still feel that this is a great game and believe it will only get better with time. Sad to see it get such a bad rap from from all the reviews. Just got my game informer yesterday and only received a 6.5 because of all the bugs. -
About plopped trees...
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to happyrobbie's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I think the trees will also die because of the lack of water in the water table. I have noticed even in areas with no pollution they still die and have to be replanted. The only spot in several cities I don't have to replant is around the water pump and sewage plant. The only place with ground water. Hope they fix that soon. Sick of looking at a brown desolate wasteland in almost every city. Lol -
Corrupted regions? Is that possible?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to bifordus-maximus's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I actually had a city rollback losing progress and started building again. An hour later it rolled back again to where I was before it rolled back to where it originally was before it rolled the first time. I hate always online. -
Mod for map sizes?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to BLANKBLANK's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
Yea I hope they come out with bigger tile sizes. I just built a new rig the week before this came out because my last one was about three years old and the board had long since reached its expandibility. Also love this modding community. Really made Sc4 great to play for so many years. Hope they can continue to bring great things to this iteration. -
Recycling, how to do it?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to bigmummylover's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yea I have a few more specifics. So I don't know what exactly to make of it whether the recycling is supposed toact this way or not. The waste disposal map is updated at 5am everyday the same time collection starts. Every building produces some trash while not every building produces recycling. Depending in education and as far as I can tell density and wealth to some extent (as far as number of bins per building). The recycling trucks will hit the city with at least some kind of priority until 11am. Again I have no back ups and at least every building gets collected at some point in a 2-3 day cycle. This is where it gets kinda screwy, those same buildings also produce trash and I only have five garbage trucks to cover 175,000, but the garbage is taken from every building everyday. Although the stats say I'm barely pickin any up at all. The recycling plant seems to only take in an amount that it is able to process in a single shift. To the previous post I would pull the waste disposal map up and wait for it to update again and just make sure that you actually have recyclables and if so. I'm not sure what to say except this game is frustrating at times lol -
Recycling, how to do it?
xdsxblazinxdsx replied to bigmummylover's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Are you sure that they aren't collecting all the bins and just getting off work early? I've been watching the mechanics on recycling for a while in several cities an it seems to me the trucks aren't the problem it's the stat that seems to be messed up. For instance, one city says it has 16,000 bins to collect a day, and with two fully staffed recycling plants I'm only able to collect 6,500. Yet my trucks will start picking up at 5am and are off the road by 11am. At first when I introduced the recycling center the trucks were going like crazy all day long. Now only half the day yet I have no trash piling up or ground pollution. So I believe that the 16,000 is just the total amount of bins and not the amount of bins needed to be collected. Another reason for this is watching the routes that the 32 trucks actually take where at first they are spreading out all over the city and now the majority of them will follow one another. In my opinion they are doing that because there is less recycling available to collect. Now I realize I haven't fully tested this out but intend to where I shut down the plants for a few days and watch the patterns after I reopen them again.
