Update 31: The Mystery Location is Revealed!
cnelson commented on simlink's City Journal Entry in Windemere 2.0
I like it! Where can I find those walls I see?? Could always use more. -
Harbor Coastal Flats HCF (Harbor Coastal Flats) Is a region that I came up with when I got tiered of building with hills and mountains. The people living there are about as rich as you can get. A entire region based on high wealth, tourism, and celebrities. A place where A-list people are around every corner, bribes on politicians are the norm. Where money rules the land, welcome to HCF. Hehe, Its called flats for a reason. ; ) Parks, rule in HCF. The rich like there green. Houses on the beach are of common. They will run you a big dollar. Gated communites are another thing of the common. Like I said, gated communites provide saftey and privicy. Just a little glimpse of what you can expect. I will update as much as I can.. With school it might be a little difficult, but I'll do my best. I hope everyone enjoys, and please tell me what you think. : )

Alright first; MODS: please move this if its in the wrong forum. I was unsure where to post, i thought here was correct. Ok, now on to my question, i'm building a city that is taking some time to build, i'm already up to year 75 i think.. this is mainly due to building, than realizing commute times are in the 40 minute range. I have the abandonment mod for a 185 years.. I would like to edit how many years it lasts for eg; make it last about 900 years, or something. I know unrealistic, but thats what i would like.. I opened it with notepad to look at it a little bit, however i cannot find the line i need to edit, or the number values.. I thought it would be an esay fix, however it may not even be do-able. Someone with more knowlagde of .DAT files can probably help me out with this question. I would greatly appricate it. Thanks, chirs.

Do college campuses and the towns they built have a future
cnelson replied to hamsterTK's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Well... i HIGHLY doubt that colleges would spend millions of dollars building dorms, classrooms, etc. If they thought that no one would use them.. Also remember that some of the kids that go to college will not take an online course because they want the "college experience" .. Just my .02$ -
I'm sorry, but it is MY understanding that in order for any copyright infringement to take place either; 1. You need to be claiming EA files as your own, or 2. Redistributing EA files without written permission. As for hacking Sim City 4, or ANY game in general there is nothing illegal about it, however you may void your warranty in doing so. HOWEVER.. I may be completely wrong so someone please correct me if I am. I think your just looking into this a little to much, no one is going to come after you its a 5 year old game.. IMO.

Please make a note; This is the first in the down fall of the internet. I know it sounds over the top, but once they can cap how much usage you're allowed, than they will cap where/when/what type of website we are allowed to see. The days of a free internet are over.. just like the days of a free country..

Sim City 4, not rendering maps correctly.
cnelson replied to cnelson's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
FIXED!!!! It seems that with firefox open.. it would stop the rendering for some reason.. i closed out firefox, render two maps and they both came out fine. : ) -
Ok, so heres the problem i'm having; I just put sim city 4, and rush hour on my new vista system. On my old machine at home (windows xp) when i would render a map it would work fine. However now, it starts to render goes through all that and than when its done, only half or 3/4's of the map is really there, the rest is still just flat land. Any ideas why? EDIT:::: I forgot to mention it has done this with 2 maps so far, so i assume that anymore that i try will also do the same thing.. although while i am waiting for a response i will try a couple more. Heres my system specs (i don't think this is the problem tho..) OS:: Windows Vista Home Premium Processor:: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Daul Core Processor 6000+ 3.02ghz RAM:: 4.00 GB System:: 64-bit OS Hard Drive:: Over 400 GB free space. P.S Sorry if this has been posted and answered before, i searched and searched and came up with nothing.. Thanks for any help. -Chris.

Official Mapping Community Requests
cnelson replied to RadioheadFan's topic in Mapping Community Room
Can anyone make a map of new jersey to scale? There is one out there but its not to scale... I don't know how difficult this would be, or if it would even be possible? I've lived in new jersey my whole life and would really like to try to rebuild it, but i need a map that is to scale. because the one that is available doesn't really work if your trying to replicate new jersey.
