SimCity: Welcome to the Glassbox Simulation Engine

The part where Ocean Quigley says the engine is designed to hold "TENS OF THOUSANDS of agents" is the most exciting!! -

^ ^ sounds promising! I hope you'll still be able to control a sprawling metropolis though! there is a new video demonstrating a little of glassbox here: http://i.joystiq.com/2012/03/20/take-a-second-first-look-at-simcitys-glassbox-engine-debug-g/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%253A+weblogsinc%252Fjoystiq+%2528Joystiq%2529 -

Sci-fi landscapes and tiny beachvillage's aaahhh...... -
Oh... And id like to be able to create an industry that the who (or more) city leans on, like an airport that you can keep expanding so that it will eventually create thousands of jobs or something like Hollywood with lots of filmstudios, or something like Silicon Valley with all the tech company headquartes etc. Etc. And id like to be able to walk/ drive/ fly around in my city, and also in other peoples cities

Hmmmm... Well, when your city isnt developing, i would like it to be a little more easy to find out why it isnt developing. I'd like cities to look more 'natural' (curvy roads should improve that a lot) and unique, as in architectural style, variety in buildings, roads, natural environment. Think Abu Dhabi, Tokyo, Amsterdam, New York, even something as dirty as Mexico City. To achieve that i'd like there to be an easy to use building-design program, where you can create buildings and give properties. Oh yeah... I would LOVE to see arcology's and other high-tech stuff!

I think the 'catch' is that soloplayer will not truly be solo player, Ocean Quigly said something about 'sharing resources'or something?? I'm afraid it will focus too much on micro-level simulation, also because citysizes will be 2KM max. How can you build a megapolis on a 2x2KM square? The environmental issue is my biggest fear though, Too much emphasis on polution and limited resources. And 'working together?? Come on! Sounds like they want to enforce some dumb environmental message on us that will limit the game's potential.

After hearing the news about Simcity 5 I decided to become a member here and share my thoughts on it, played SC4 for a while, absolutely in love with how it looks but never managed to make a city profitable . I still love it though! As for the SC 5 trailer: WOW! The leaked pics look like they were in-game, if that is the case: WOoOoOoOW!! i'm in love again!! Want want want!! I Hope they keep a degree of that funky cartoony look in, the trailer is too realistic for me, but still damn nice! But, if i'm totally honest, I'm very worried that it won't be as much fun as it seems. The things Lucy Bradshaw said scare me! Waaaay to much focus on environmental B.S. issues, and waaaaay too much focus on 'working together' (aka multiplayer) for a 'better planet' or something?? Sounds like some forced moralistic message to me. Then ofcourse there's EA, will they allow user generated content like BATS etc.? That's 50% of the fun of SC4. I don't get what is bad about 'Origin' though, but i'm not really a gamer... What i'd like, is to build something beautiful, be it a small dreamy town or a big futuristic megapolis, make it profitable, tweak and personalise it, and then fly/drive around town, and maybe drive around in a neighbors town! And that's basically it
