1. Park of Brotherly Love
The Philadelphian says it's called Love Park.
Actually it's called JFK Plaza. Love Park is just a widely used colloquialism. Haha but yes your point stands, it certainly is not called the park of brotherly love. Looks great though.
2. wow, new SorGun is incredible. Is there any place where I could find a tutorial on how to build a city that doesn't use cars???
3. I love studying urban design and renewal and so of course I have always adored sim city throughout my life. However the idea of creating a perfect city from scratch bores me. All of my favorite cities are old cities. I love studying how cities have evolved and changed with the times. Sure it's easy to lay out a public transit system when you plan the whole thing out before there's even a single person living in your city... but what interests me is adapting a new transit system to a centuries old city. Being forced to try and build highways and highspeed rail lines through dense centuries old urban neighborhoods in cities that were originally designed in a time where a high speed train wasn't even fathomable. To make sim city more appealing to my very particular interest, I start of building my cities using a street grid and public transit system reminiscent of turn of the 19th century American cities. From there I add trains, and suspension bridges, and air ports and etc as my city grows through time. My favorite thing to do is to actually look at an old map of a city like Boston and Philadelphia from around 1800 and do my best to build that city, then convert it to what the city looked like in 1850, and 1900 etc, until eventually I get the city in its present form, with all of its infrastructure and history and baggage and try to further update it to my vision of what the city should be doing in the future. Is there anyone else who builds like this? Is there anyone else who finds the unique pleasure in undertaking massive public works projects in your already existing cities? The biggest problem with building like this is that it's not totally possible. Although I could be laying out a believable 1800s city my sims will still drive cars and build modern buildings. Would it be possible for a mod to limit the amount of technology available at any given time in the game?
4. Wow, can't believe how many people helped me out here. Thanks alot! Yea I wasn't sure what exactly an integrated graphics card was and now that I know I can understand why most think I'd have trouble running sc2013 on it. As some are suggesting what graphics cards I could purchase, I'm assumming it would be possible to buy a better graphics card and install it. Does installing a new graphics card onto a cpu that has an integrated graphics card present any unique challenges or restraints? I'm not the most tech savy individual arround, but through simple patience and an ability to follow instructions I've so far been able to aptly complete any computer hardware work I've attempted in the past and If my problem is as simple as buying a card and installing it then I'd be all for doing that. If I purchased one of the cards mentioned above would my system be able to run the game well? On the other hand my computer is about 2 and a half years old now, and a year or two from now I'd likely be starting to look to buy a new computer anyway. Should I just wait til my next computer purchase and this time make sure to get at least a decent graphics card?
5. please forgive my lack of computer knowledge. I swear I'm not this bad with computers. But I have basically zero experience with computer games and my computer has a cheap intel integrated graphic card because i never thought I'd need much, but now I'm thinking I might want to play sim city 5 and I can't for the life of me figure out if I'll be able to opperate it on my system. All the processor, ram requirements i easily meet, but can't tell if my graphics card is good enough. here is the info on my graphics card: Name: Intel HD Graphics Manufacturer: Intel Corporation Chip Type: Intel HD Graphics (core i5) DAC type: internal Aprox Total Memory: 1696MB
