  1. Maxis doing an AMA (as me anything) on Reddit

Thursday, March 8th, the Maxis devs will be doing an AMA on Reddit to talk about the new glassbox engine and Simcity as a whole. They will be answering questions from 12:00-3:00 PST. Head over their to get your questions about the game answered!
  2. RHW Help

I just downloaded the RHW tool and I am glad to say it is very impressive. However, I am having a problem (a rather silly one actually). I can't for the life of me figure out how to connect elevated rural highways with ground-level rural highways. I've searched around, but no answer. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. RHW Help

o, I found it! Ok, thanks a lot
  4. Farming

If your sims have any education at all, they will not want to be farmers and your demand will plummet. Just create some low- mid density housing and make sure you don't have any schools. Hope that helps!
  5. Australia joins "the club"

For all of the United States' faults, they really have it down when it comes to freedom of speech. Not only will this attempt at prior restraint fail miserably, but it is certainly a step backwards for australia. First the internet is censored, then what? Press? Speech? Expression? While well intended, this attempt to "filter" illegal sites spits in the face of civil liberty.

  7. Wikipedia article shows SimCity 4 screenshot

*sniff... this is it, the bigtime. So this is what it feels like
  8. Bus and Congestion Solution

sims will always take the shortest route to their destination, regardless of whether it is congested or not. Try having only highways connectting your citites to "force" your sims to go the way you want them to.
  9. ID Cap Relief

I have a fairly large region (about 1.25 million) and I am looking to expand my dirty industry in order to keep the region balanced. However, I keep hitting a cap around 15k ID jobs. Are there any lots (either in game or on the STEX) I can build to relieve the cap?
  10. ID Cap Relief

wow, I didn't realize that it was the amount exported via rail and not simply the rail lines. Thanks a lot.
  11. ID Cap Relief

The demand for the ID is present but I am hitting the demand caps for each individual city. I want to have a cty with 100k+ dirty industry but I keep getting capped at around 15k
  12. ID Cap Relief

freight and rail don't seem to do much help. I'm looking for a solution to relieve ID cap substantially. For example, the military base raises the IM cap by 100,000. Does anything of this caliber exist?
  13. The Grinchy City Planner - A Cautionary Tale

bravo, I like a CJ author with a little (or in this case A LOT) of personality
  14. Show us your - Largest City Ever

My largest city was 2,000,000 sims on a medium residential tile. There were not any C or I, only R$. I needed to build it to balance my regional demands while maintaining the general wealth of the rest of the region
  15. I highly doubt anything from this website caused your hard drive to die. This website is a safe site to download from. In fact, I doubt anything you did caused your hard drive to die. Hard drives tend to last about 5 years before they bite the dust on their own.
  16. ST's NFL News Discussion

patriots_1228: To true, to true. Boston is having the best sports year I have ever seen. Cleveland is still searching for a 50+ year championship drought in any sport
  17. ST's NFL News Discussion

Its a great year in Cleveland... back to back National championship games for OSU football, Cavs get to the finals, Indians do fantastic, and (what's this?!) the Browns have won OVER 1/2 of their games and the playoffs is likely. Wow... I am speechless
  18. ST's NFL News Discussion

I agree that not "everything" should be reviewable. However, when it comes to something so important as a touchdown, regardless of whether it is a game winning touchdown or not, it shoul most certainly be reviewable. Another play that should be reviewable is a field goal try (coinicidentally the Browns made a case for this too when Phil Dawson's kick defied physics and went throught the uprights then bounced back). They should either make a push out a reviewable play, or do away with it being a possible call. No referee call so important should be non-reviewable. OffTopic: I love the Brownies. Even though they lost, I am still more than happy with how they have played this year.
  19. ST's NFL News Discussion

Allow me to vent for a second about the Browns- Cardinals game. The hail mary to winslow on the last play was, without a doubt, a pushout. However, the ref was looking at Winslow's feet and paid no attention to him being shoved out of bonds and this being one of the "nonreviewable" plays, nothing could be done to over turn it. The NFL needs to take a nice hard look at which plays are reviewable and which ones aren't. A team should never lose a game because of a Referee miscue
  20. Gnats are Cleveland fans!

Ya... Go tribe! Here in Cleveland, we'll take any ally we can get
  21. iran pres speaks...

The Israelis turned an unhabitable desert into a very successful country. Now that it is a wonderful place, the Palestinians want it back. The Israelis won most of their land in the 6 day war and gave most of it back anyway. I don't think I would have been so kind
  22. Simcity4.com bbs dead?

I frequent the forum at simcity4.com about once a month and to my surprise, I can no longer find it! Did EA finally take it down and replace it with their simcity societies site? I personally liked the couple of people who also frequented that site and gave it a small community feeling. Ah the good old days
  23. Simcity4.com bbs dead?

hmmmm... I see the link now. I just missed it before. It is slowly becoming smaller and smaller.
  24. Simtropolis: A Tired Brand

I've been here for a very, very long time a quite frankly I disagree with you Livinginthepast. In fact, I think simtropolis is more or less the same since 2003 (The only differrence being the color of the forum ).
  25. Detroit & the Rust Belt

I was recently reading an article in the newspaper talkign about Cleveland needing more office space desperately. There is talk of building a new skyscraper in Cleveland to meet the demand. Also, the flats (an area by the Cuyahaga river) is building some upper class tenants and businesses. Cleveland is near and dear to my heart and I think it will (and is) recovering.
