My friends and I tried the Mentos and Diet Coke thing twice last winter. Our best one went between 4 and 5 feet, and was either caused by not getting the Mentos in fast enough or the fact that it was Fargo in the winter. Heat must speed up the reaction or something.

I would not really care to take a cruise in one of the gigantic floating hotels in the Caribbean. I would much prefer the smaller, less active cruises in Alaska or Scandanavia. If I am going to be on vacation on a boat, why do I need a boxing ring, climbing wall, or shopping mall? It's just another thing to plan your day around if you ask me. I would love to just sit on the deck and take in the scenery for a week with the occasional delicious meal.

Mine would be a 25 hour one-shot drive (with 6 or 7 total stops) from north of Minneapolis, MN to Norfolk, VA. I was 15 and had my permit and my mom and I switched off driving the whole time. This was done in a comfortable Dodge Intrepid. A few years later I drove all the way from north of Minneapolis to Dayton, OH. It was about 12 hours and we stopped once to gas up the ol' Saturn. I drove every inch the car moved that entire trip.

I'm about 6' 1" and I probably won't get any taller, as I am almost 19.

I've been to Valleyfair! in Shakopee, Minnesota (shock-uh-pee) numerous times because it is by far the nearest amusement park to where I live. My favorite ride there is the High Roller, a traditional wooden rollercoaster. That is the park with the recent derailment of the Wild Thing, which I have almost worked up the courage to ride several times. It doesn't go upside down or anything, but a 203 foot drop scares me enough. I figure they'll be inspecting it even more after it crashed so I might ride it if I go there again this summer. I've also been to Dorney Park in Pennsylvania once and liked their large wooden double roller coaster, where there were two tracks that raced each other. Took a trip to Astroland in Coney Island, New York and rode the Cyclone a few times. It truly is a classic. I missed my chance to ride Dino's Wonder Wheel, though. I went to Cedar Point once as well, which didn't do me much good because I am a wuss when it comes to coasters and it was jam packed. They put up digital signs that gave an estimated line wait, and rides like the Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster were well over 3 hours. I went to Disneyland in California when I was about five ,and was an even bigger wuss then. Rode the teacups a lot. If I am ever on vacation anywhere near Texas I will try to make it out to Schlitterbahn.

The ACT is a very fast-paced test and the question themselves are not that difficult. What makes the test difficult is how quickly you have to move. Good luck!

I used to be a dog person until my family got a few cats we liked enough to let inside the house. They were all barn cats before. Maybe we should have left them as barn cats because we have rats in there now... We have two cats right now, one named Sylvester and one named Knobby. Sylvester is the more cat-like of the bunch, going on long hunting excursions and keeping to himself a lot, though he is very friendly and affectionate. We usually call him the b*****d kitty. Knobby is more dog-like and earned his name because of how much he whines. He is named after Chuck Knoblauch, a former Minnesota Twins player infamous for whining about everything, so we found it to be a fitting name for our whiny cat. We found Knobby on the side of a dead-end dirt road as a kitten and brought him home. Two weeks later he was taking a nap under the hood of my dad's car and was rudely awakened by the fan belt ripping his ear off. The picture of him shows both ears. He is usually referred to around here as the dumb kitty.

I finally got MSN some time last winter. All of my friends from high school use Yahoo and so have been I for many years, but when I went to college all of them use MSN. I eventually got it and still much prefer Yahoo.

I would like it if new keyboards had an insert lock instead of a scroll lock. What does a scroll lock even do?

I still have four Lego buckets full of cars kicking around somewhere, but very little for tracks. I'd race them down the slide in the backyard or play with them in the sandbox instead. I have a few dozen 1:18 scale cars I am building shelves for.

There aren't any traffic circles in Fargo, ND, but there are proposals for at least half a dozen of them and one will be constructed this summer. This scares me, because people in this town have no clue how to merge.

Don't diss the black cases! I have an Antec Sonata in piano black, which is as shiny as a new BMW, and I was just as mad as the average BMW owner when I found a scratch on it. You've got a nice setup going and are lucky you can spend that much on a machine. Enjoy your 2GB RAM. I got a RADEON X800GT 256MB video card for Christmas and doubled my RAM in January for a total of 1GB, and I do not plan to upgrade anything on this computer ever again. Why? I have to buy a very powerful laptop in December for architcture school, and I plan to buy a very powerful one that I can use throughout my stay at college. After that, who knows.

I would qualify as a country lover. I lived in the suburbs of the Twin Cities until I was six when my family moved into the countryside. I currently go to college in Fargo which is almost a city. There is bus service form the university to various shpping areas and such but it is still a lot easier to drive, so it feels more suburban. If you have to drive to get groceries anyway, might as well live where it's clean and quiet.

I am in agreement that they are just way too unsafe. Fuel economy may not be a big issue, as the four passenger moller Skycar is projected to have 28MPG in cruising. People have enough trouble controlling a car when they only have to worry about two axi with a high-friction tire holding it ot the road, and hwat happens when a third axis is added and the friction is gone?

My brother got one in Late January. My dad had been looking for a decent price for one on eBay and finally found one. Ended up getting a premium system for $430. I was at Wal Mart and Target in Fargo, ND the other day and each had a whole bunch of them. I guess supply has finally started to catch up to demand

I have the Casio scientific calculator my mom used in high school. From around 1979.

I get carsick way too easily. I can't read or even look at a map for more than about 30 seconds. I usually end up driving whenever I go somewhere because I won't get bored. Though, I've never been bored at looking out the window. So much to see. My sister is the exact opposite. She has ridden the the back of my family's station wagon driven by a 15 year old permit driver, facing backwards, with headphones on, and learning how to knit with a knitting book. She's never been carsick in her life.

The first computer game I played was Math Rescue on a 486, at age 4 or 5. I had to learn basic DOS to be able to play it. My first console game was an original Game Boy and Super Mario Bros. My family didn't have a TV-based console until about 1997 when we bought an NES at a garage sale.

The most recently-acquired computer in my family is a Texas Instruments 99/4A from 1981. I found it in a garage while working last fall. I got a bunch of games for it off eBay, but it's not a very useful machine, otherwise. It would be if I knew basic.
