  1. Could you contact him about it? I think it might speed it up a little bit, but not much, as I know it's probably also limited bandwith. :P

  2. Hi, I had an idea on how to make the site faster and someone suggested I contact an admin to get through to Dirk about it. When I was maintaining my server, I was installing nginx, and I thought that maybe ST could benefit from that. See, Apache has a bug in it where over 10k connections can cause ram usage to go through the roof. Nginx and lighttpd do not have this bug, and can run PHP.

    Beat your speed!
  4. It's from a thing online called Homestuck. It's about these kids who play an online game and the trolls in the game (as in internet trolls).

  8. City Plans?

Does anyone draw out their city road plans before starting a city? Cause I just made one and was wondering what you think of it.
  9. Is it possible to run SC4Terraformer in Windows 7 64-bit? Some users suggested going into XP compatibility mode, but that does not work. I cannot do XP Mode either cause I have a lower version of 7.

  14. What's the population of your hometown?

Indiana: 6,483,802 Indianapolis-Carmel, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area: 1,756,241 (2005 estimate) Carmel, Indiana: 79,191 (2010 Census)
  15. New Bridge Finished & New Outer Bridge

The 4th Street bridge was getting deteriorated, as traffic was more than queried. Instead of 500 vehicles and 30 passengers, the bridge actually had 600 cars and 400 passengers. The city has decided the bridge was unsafe and it was demolished. Traffic will be diverted to the new 7th Street bridge while a new one is constructed. 1 MONTH AND 5,000 SIMOLEANS LATER... I just came back from the bridge opening. The Midland Bridge can handle more traffic, and the 7th Street Bridge will remain as a backup bridge.
  16. From Beginnings

Midland is a suburban town in the middle of a mountain range on a flat land. The Midland Computing and Electronic Company bought land along the Blair River to construct a town where their premium computers, calculators and other electronics will be built, and provide quality homes to their employees. From Beginnings New town, new life. No town can operate without roads, though! This area north of the river will be our residential district. Many homes will be built, some historical in design and some very modern! Our expert zoning advisors advised we put commercial next to industrial. Many of our employees were against it, claiming that they did not want to drive through smog clouds when going to the local department store, however, as government is always right, in our beliefs, we kept it. Power plant is in, now to wait for growth! Houses are developing! Look at those suckers, moving in to a middle of nowhere town with no road connections! *evil laughter* Oh and a mayor house and a school appeared somehow.
  17. This happened last weekend. It's sad to see something like this happen. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44133994/ns/us_news-life/
  18. Bridge Construction

My transportation advisor has told me that the 4th Street bridge is over capacity. The 4th Street bridge has been there since the beginning (which wasn't that long ago), serving the central part of town. I guess it's time to build a new bridge. The 4th Street Bridge is not that big, averaging around 560 cars and 30 passengers a day, which can pile up. Plans are now going on in city council to build a new bridge. Stay tuned.

  20. SC4Terraformer in Windows 7 64-bit

That worked, gave me an error about DirectX 9 though. Downloading it right now. Thanks!
  21. So I'm getting a warranty replacement disk for Simcity 4 from EA. They sent them out on the 11th, and UPS was originally saying they were coming today due to some early delivery thing. However, today I checked and look: Funny thing is, when I called them to ask what was happening, they put them on the truck moments after. Silly, huh?
  22. The disc arrived on Tuesday. It was in a typical UPS envelope instead of some fancy EA packaging LOL.
  23. Error Code [#10863]

All I can think of is download limits that some ISPs have. For example, HughesNet limits you to 225mb of downloads a day, except for between the hours of 2am-6am. However, I don't think this is the case. :|
