  1. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

Wow, so it is. I still would've missed it, but in my defense at least the angle was confusing. Thanks Cornoosh.
  2. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

And now for something more normal... 1 is from someone else's pic near the beginning of this thread but he was asking about a different building, 2 and 3 are from Gizmo's NightMod thread, and 4-7 are from Japanese sites without download links so I'm just seeing if anyone has em handy. Also I'd like to ask if anyone by some chance has the older, larger version of UrbanLegend's Hancock Tower in Boston. He updated it on... umm... 12 March 2004 looks like, making it smaller than what his program said it should be b/c he "thought it looked too big". I used to have the old version too, updated it blindly back then and now I regret it, imo he had it right the first time. Oh well.
  3. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

I am looking for props used by the following but which I can't find despite everything I know to try: 0x073D4637 - "Park" version of Peg's Hanging Gardens (I can get the stream/canal version to show as not missing anything) 0xA0000960 - SimGoober's Melony's Melons, non-seasonal lots (I can get the seasonal lot to show as not missing anything) 0xAD9128EE - Aothe's Eiffel Tower 0x10FC0000 - SimGoober's Food Lion, old/original version 0xF37E00FC and 0xF32100FC - Torremayor's Bastille Opera 0x4DB61DB7 - kd5rax etc's Petronas Twin Towers And these textures: 0x25B72000 - Colyn's CSX National Library 0x4F8A2F10 - LinkArtist's Zanarkand Blitzball Stadium Some notes. These are not causing any brown boxes at all from what I can tell, they're just showing up in SC4Tool's scan of my plugins. I've still managed to shorten this list considerably on my own already through extensive research, trial and error, educated guesswork, and pure dumb luck, but I've about hit a brick wall with these last few and it'd be nice to be able to cross em off. If not though, eh, that's fine too. It's possible some are errors in the lot files or something, as with Ardecila's Torii missing texture 0x00000000 which he mentioned in that lot's feedback. I have no filenames to give really, as all the ones mentioned by the authors as dependencies plus all the additional ones they forgot to mention but which show up in SC4Tool or the PluginManager have pretty much all been accounted for already, ie the lots are already happily using them. I've checked this thoroughly. The prop/texture hex ID number is not necessarily totally useless. For example the 0x073D4637 one is situated closely between some prop numbers from other Peg lots, and thus can be used to set bounds on the date when the file containing the missing one might've been posted. I've already tried a bunch of lots from Peg's site that fit the timeframe I worked out in this case (2005: Feb 1 through late Sept), but I'm only halfway done as it's a tremendous number of files to try and still with no guarantee of success, heh. I realize this post is a long shot, the only way someone could help is if they have one of these lots installed and use SC4Tool and somehow have what's missing already, or if an actual author knows what I'm talking about and responds, but I figured I'd toss it out there anyway, no harm done. Oh, and yes I know I'd be better off posting this on the SC4D forums as someone previously said in this thread... don't worry, I will, sooner or later, maybe, but I felt like doing it here first, darnit. Also looking for this, which I do have a filename for: "One Way Sign-0x6534284a-0xed300a6a-0x4ea7fcb8.SC4Desc". It's used by Hanson784's Two Times Square, though not mentioned anywhere. The two used by the Bastille Opera may be from "Plugin_landmarks_and_other_missing_Props.dat" which the BSC ReadMe says is "no longer available", but I have no way of knowing for sure, and I also don't know whether that file was rolled into existing stuff when Rush Hour came out as I've seen in a few cases, or something.

A1N2D3R4E5W6: It's the "National Swimming Centre" by jtPortland on the STEX.
  5. Two Times Square

This actually uses both NY prop packs, not just the one linked in the description (and yes, the two prop packs are different, despite having the same version number and download filename). Sloppy. Additionally, it uses one more prop I haven't been able to track down yet: "One Way Sign-0x6534284a-0xed300a6a-0x4ea7fcb8.SC4Desc". I give this a base rating of 9, -1 for NL on the side of the building could've been a little better and -1 for dependency issues.
  6. Help finding a dependency

I installed the lot in question and took a look, it's only using one prop from that file, "planter7x7_centered", and you can get it in the main dat file of the "RTK3 - Recreation 2.05" download from Pegasus' site, "simpeg.com/forum". You have to register to download. Many old (and current) lots use props from various Peg lots I've found, and they're generally only available from that site. Neither "RT3" nor "EHW" rang any bells and I've been through Peg's site thoroughly before, so it was probably a file that doesn't exist anymore from an older version of the RTK. I highly recommend the SC4Tool for scanning plugins and dependencies, never found anything else like it, it's not perfect but it gives you a way to dynamically determine what, exactly, your lots are and are not missing, one by one. Dependencies in ReadMe's are almost never explicitly incorrect, but still incomplete to some degree a disturbing amount of the time I've found, and so a tool like this is incredibly helpful.
  7. About Xurros Highway Signs

So after trying these tonight I noticed, as did other ppl before in the download feedback, that the nightlights were broken. Actually they're only half broken, they work on signs facing north and east (going by initial orientation on city load), but not on signs facing west or south. (Incidentally, Jono01's avenue versions have the same problem only backwards, at least his 3 RHS ones do, haven't tried the LHS ones yet...) Everything seemed fine in the models/exemplars/etc, then it occured to me this might have something to do with the props, which are the signs and thus contain the nightlighting, being extended over the lot's boundaries. Sure enough, just using the lot editor to move the prop back fixes the problem, and they actually still look quite presentable this way imo. This leads me to the following questions. 1) Was this a known issue with the game alrdy or did I by some chance stumble on a slightly useful piece of information? Just curious. 2) I know there's the customizable sign kit/tutorial/thingy now and Xurros' sign set was posted way back in '04, but it still has over 13k downloads and recent feedback posts soooo would there be any interest you think in me uploading "fixed" versions of these lots, since I'll probably be making them for myself soon anyway. 3) If I did do this, just wanna ask and make certain I wouldn't need Xurros' permission, as he doesn't seem to be around anymore and I'd just be supplying new lot files; the desc and model files would still be required from his download. (Also give credit and a link, I know.)

There's an old CD called Shadows by Danny Wright, track 6 is "Song for Lea" which I always liked, even sounds like good SimCity music on giving it a re-listen... just thought I'd mention it.
