Problem with Rendering in Region View
thomaslcook1998 replied to TheGreatDoge's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I'd love to double click a city to launch it. problem is all that blue nonsense covers over te city names and they are unselectable. I got a RTX A1000, but I'm rendering in sw node, if I pick hw it crashes the app at startup. -
Problem with Rendering in Region View

Indeed I did plop the dll in, to no discernable effect. Thought maybe it was tied to my widescreen monitor and/or display settings but I can go positively 1989 VGA CRT mode on my laptop alone and it's still bung-fu. If I could open a city file directly and resave that'd be lovely. Just a bummer, I've been building this region for years. -

If I may, my issue seems semi related but my problem is I can't even open some of my cities to resave them, I can't choose them in the Region screen no matter what resolution I go down to. -
All-at-once or a little at a time?
thomaslcook1998 replied to The Wrench's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Slowly and over time here. I'm not above using some mods like the lottery and some, ahem, far-fetched waste management tools but other than that I go slow and organic. The philosophical and design struggle I'm having now is whether to have cities that are massive (I dig skyscrapers) or more blended. I tend to have farms and forests in all my towns and vary density thruout but I'm intrigued by y'all who build specialized cities. I'm also torn about tax policy - progressive for "fairness" sake or punitive to get or suppress what I want/ don't want. Kinda at a crossroads now and thinking of starting on a fresh region for all these reasons - hence I came out from hiding to chime in and troll the forums for more ideas.
