  1. Trying to build a realistic city

Hey there, You may have gotten into your city already but I can't seem to stress the observation I've made as a result of endevouring on builds like yours. A few helpful things that may give you the edge in city building. - Highways are your only regional connection: Even with NAM sims will seek out inter-regional road connections that are closer than highways even though highways may be the more logical option to go on. Severing every single connection except for the ones you want traffic on will give you a more realistic traffic flow. - Build your suburbs from the edges in: Yes, backwards. Since commute time is everything you'll want development at maximum commute time first so that you are faced with minimal abandonment. - Limited roads to highways: You're mayor and you can build roads everywhere but if you want a realistic city you'll want to have a finite amount of roads leading to where the highways are otherwise you'll have an excellent avenue with a SPUI interchange with 300 cars and a cruddy road that is more direct with 9000 cars. I'll illustrate these later with route queries and data maps, I do not have internet connected to the computer with Sim City (It is 16km away from any Internet)
  2. A - Z Cities Game

    Cooma, New South Wales, Australia
  3. You can look around the STEX and/or other Sim City websites to try and find the specific landmark you are looking for.
  4. Slow Game Play

You might want to keep your plugins folder uncompressed. As I have experienced and thus come to the conclusion that before the intro screen the time it takes to load is the sim city game loading all the plugins. Cities themselves shouldn't be loading plugins (otherwise you'd be opening and closing thousands of plugins if you were going around cities)...
  5. Simtropolis and that other one (Can't remember the name atm) have done a splendid job at keeping SC4 alive, However. This just means that SC4 won't become freeware, EA gets profit from simtropolis/other volunteers that make all these new modifications to the game. Surely, EA isn't that ridiculous to let go of a game that still creates revenue.
  6. Show us your largest region (population or area)

Very ambitious goal! Another one of my regions, Although not as 'eyecandy' centered.. I like it. A much more 'CBD' obvious region with beaches and an old town + new town
  7. Show us your largest region (population or area)

I have been experimenting with decentralizing CBD's. It hasn't worked obviously as the whole city has become one massive skyscraper mess.
