BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
Damiangjy replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi guys, I need some advice on modelling in BAT with Cylinders and Cones. What I'm trying to do is to make a cylinder that has 32 sides (excluding top and bottom), but have the general shape of having 16 sides. Here's a picture of what I mean http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=6873760&nseq=16 As you can see, the main windows in the middle are separated from each other by thin walls that have their edges face outwards, however the general shape of the entire design is that of a 16 sided cylinder/ cone. I need to find a way that can let me control alternate edges of the cylinder/ cone so that I can make the outward facing plane of the thin separating wall. Anyway here's another picture, or rather, a quick drawing of what I mean, except that this picture's 'general shape' has 8 sides. I need a 'general shape' of 16 sides. The concept should be the same. As can be seen from the first picture from the link above, the walls separating the main windows are slanted down, hence I would need to know if this is possible to be done on a cone as well. I know one way would be to create boxes then duplicate them and rotate them at angles until I get the desired shape, but is there a more direct, straightforward way? The duplicating method may mean quite some tedious work scaling them to the right sizes. Oh, and can someone tell me what's the difference between creating a spline and creating a normal 'primitive'. Many of the BAT tutorials I've seen so far involve making splines rather than primitives. -
Can anyone recommend me links to download? I've been trying to build my local airport (Singapore Changi). The terminal pack by ACE-VLT has the diagonals for concourses but I noticed there are almost no mods out there for the diagonal gates to be used with them. I already have RMIP SAE Vol1-4, TMIP, Airport Roads Project, most of the stuff recommended on the Omnibus article.) Sorry for the large number of requests and questions, I'm relatively new to Simcity and its network...I hope I don't sound rude :/

Hi ACE and Voltaire, or whoever involved in the airport projects, I have a few requests and some suggestions to make. 1. Why were the 30 degrees rapid exit taxiways from RMIP1 removed and replaced with the 45 degrees ones? 2. Why are the lotted 747s on a darker coloured ramp compared to the other planes? (These cause a lot of extra icons in the airport menu because of the repeated tiles :/) This project is great, really appreciate it guys . Are there any chances of a diagonal gate so that it could fully complement the diagonal sections of the terminals? And maybe some adjustments to the lots so that they may be split up even more to allow for more room for customisation. I've also realised that the terminals are rather small, each piece is only around the size of a lotted 787, and can only be extended laterally, resulting in a long and narrow terminal. Oh, and a diagonal end to the diagonal concourses would be nice too, since now we're stuck with having to straighten out concourses when they reach the end.
