  4. Cadott Bay

OMG, that is absolutely amazing, the attention to detail is impeccable, the part i love is that ground level highway, the way you used one side of the eye candy lots, and the other side left open, looks great. smirkazor
  5. Eureka! --- Planning For The Future

it looks very nice so far, i like how you have done your updates, btw, what did you use for your effects on your pictures? as i need to do something to spice mine up a bit
  6. ok, here we are 2 new pictures of my rebuilding of lost cities, today is Rickennington. I've added to this so far a new harbour and suspension bridge. smirkazor
  7. The one thing i dont like about the water front promenade, is the colour, i dont think pink is a very good colour for something that is to be seen in full view, plus it doesnt go well with the surroundings, so i may change it back to the CDK industrial 1, anyway, i should have a picture for you today in a short while. smirkazor
  8. thnxs for commenting phil, i think this is one of the best CBD's i have done, but i do have a lack of med-high rise buildings. Over the next few updates i will be re-buidling what was lost when i reformatted, here is the first bit in Maxwell-Multinational. smirkazor
  9. thanx alot guys for you comments, most appreciated. first off, Darmok: guess i got ur attention from my comment in urs, you can see i need to know how you do some of those things, to really spicen things up . with everything that i create, i always do my best, and make it as good as i can. and some things just fall into place, like that interchange. I've learned from past experience that to have a more realistic city, its not just about buildings, but more on the little things, greenery, parks and the such, i've got into the habbit of using car parks now . I really hope you do look at most of the pages, my most succesful cities in this region are yamamoto i believe and Maxwell-Multinational, its a must see. Masterplanman: Glad i could of been of some help to u. i dont want to crowd the rail with any more stations, i have enough already. i would like someone to teach me how to add signatures. smirkazor
  10. Anduin Valley Revisited

Looking as great as ever with the way you present ur pictures and the layout of your development, i always wonderd why you had all those bits of road dotted all around the place, but now i know why. I still would love to know how you have done the effects on your photo's using photoshop, the only thing i know how to do on it is make things lighter with the dodge tool , and maybe change the entire photo in 1 click, anyway, nice updates. I'm still waiting for you visit in River Basin, my cj. smirkazor
  11. Cheers for your continueing support there phil, much appreciated. A quick small update now, mainly looking on the CBD, much has happened as you will see, most of the buildings have been plopped, also i have brightened up the picture using the dodge tool in photoshop, makes it look brighter. smirkazor. p.s. i keep getting this message whenever i try to get onto simtropolis chat, Could not load config file: https://www.simtropolis.com/chat/conf/RealChatClient.conf
  12. Drago-Wyvern, 1st CJ in a long time...

hmm, differently shaped region, good terraforming, but it looks a bit bare, should plant some trees , looking forward to seeing what the city looks like. smirkazor
  13. thnx for the comment brentford. Edit: ty for ur comment GMT, much appreciated, the main reason i do these updates is to share what i do with everyone, but when i hardly get any comments at all, i think no-ones interested, anyway, enjoy. From now on i wont be showing each step i do in making my city, i will just stick to, transportation layout, zones and construction, mainly to limit the amount of pics i post. I've been doing a bit of juggling with where i want to place my zones, as you have seen a few updates ago, i had replaced the commercial area with industry, well i have changed my mind once again, now i have moved the industrial area to the north and redone the commercial where the industry was, and down south is residential, plus i have taken the liberty of extending my sunken rail. The main reason for the turnaround is that the residential wasnt getting enough jobs from the industry, and the comercial was too far away, as seen in these sequences of photo's. This is the first bit of construction that took place. Then it was replaced because of high demand, dirty industry. This is pre-sunken rail. With time, this idustry soon became cleaner, bringing in new hightec industry, and the creation of the sunken railway. Here the sunken rail is complete, and the industry growing beyond expectations, and the extension of the confluencial pipeline (looks great). Because of the nearby residential area being constructed, it was decided that this industry could not sustain such large residential, so it was moved further north, making way for comercial once again, with 4 times as many jobs. But with this new commercial area, new sunken rail stations were needed to be constructed, in order for the sims to reach their place of work on time. Here we have the before shot of the area that is now to become the new industrial sector, providing jobs for confluencial where its needed, as well as suburbia's suburbs. After. I have taken out much of the el-rail to maximize space, but also to allow most of the jobs to go to suburbia. Here is a pic of the newely built residential area, much car has been taken in the transportation that 3 lines of el-rail have been installed, to make sure overcrowding is minimised. please comment. Smirkazor
  14. i'm getting really dissapointed with the lack of comments my cj is getting, the main reason for doing this is for you lot, and if no-ones interested anymore please let me know, as i dont want to be doing this for nothing, thank you.
  15. thnx toxicpiano, hope u come bk with more of those riveting comments . Anyway i forgot to post something. The New International airport has been completed.
  16. Time for another update, i've been working more on my mass transit system around the industrial sector for a new residential area, and one of the main transits is rail, so i continue on with my sunken rail. I've decided to keep the amount of rail stations to a minimum and have one great big one As you can see, it all worked out perfectly, for some reason most of the stuff i do and decisions i make always seem to fit in exactly to what i am doing, its quite wierd, anyway, just this rail line, i thought wasnt going to be enough, so i decided to extend the seafront el-rail line and this is how it turned out. and one final zoomed in picture of the main trainstation, cant remember off hand who made it, but i thank them (first time i have ever used it) you're comments help me produce updates, the more i get, the more i feel like updating smirkazor
  17. NAM: Development

ive got the latest nam, but i cant find any avenue on-slope pieces!, and you really need to have diagonal onslope pieces, badly!!!!!!!
  18. Edit: WELCOME TO PAGE 13 , how unlucky Glad to see someone is interested in my cj to come back and comment. I havent had very much experience with making industrial areas, mostly because they are very dirty to begin with, and look ugly, but i'm a quick learner and can quickly get past this with a bit of manipulation , but thats a secret . i wont show much of the CBD until it's finished. Right, now to todays small update, i am going to be working on the industrial sector with some sunken railways and some new cool looking bats i found over the next 1 or two updates. So today i am working on the sunken railway, in this first picture i will show what parts i will be turning it into. Red lines are the rail tunnels Green area is the sunken part Black lines are the bridges and this is what one finished side looks like, shld look great when its done. comments please! your comments help me make updates (thats why its so small )
  19. Ok, heres todays update! Still concentrating on confluencial, we now go down to the latest bit of development, located due south of the CBD. On this part of the city a new residential area is to be constructed due to the many new jobs been made available thnx for the newly developing CBD. There is so little space for a majour development, the nearby hill had to be landscaped to for more room, as wellas to make the area look more beautiful. The industrial sector that was to be built where the CBD now stands has been moved just across the river (mainly to keep away from the residents), so the commercial area was demolished, and the new industrial zones were layed down. A new tunnel has been created to connect the soon to be built, city airport. and here is the location of where this airport will be constructed. BREAKING NEWS! A fire has broken out in the confluencial harbour, we take you now to the scene. The fire is out of control, fire is beginning to engulf the building. the firetrucks are on their way but are held up in miday rush hour! Eventually they start arriving to combat the flames, slowly but surely the fire goes out. Luckily the building was unnocupied and no-one was seriously injured, a total overhaul of the fire service was undertaken to make sure this disaster never happens again. Thats all for today, comming up next update we will be looking at the development of the residential areas, and the new international airport! smirkazor
  20. hey again, had a little bit of a break, i've done quite a bit more to confluencial, but i will get to that later, first, comment replies! GingerBlokey: thnx for the comment, i try to keep it as real as i can. Aleking: welcome, dont think i've seen u before so thnx for the comment, mass transit it the part i like best about making my cities. El_lobo: ty for ur comment, and welcome to simtropolis, better late than never PhilsCafe: great to see you interest in my cj, comming back for more , where to start, about the cities that i lost, it will be my aim over the next few weeks, to bring them back from the ashes! using all the pictures that i had taken, and to make it better than ever (hopefully). Anyway, i think peg is the best batter out there, and i thank him for all the good stuff he has produced, sadly, the seaport didnt quite work out as well as i hoped, mainly because it doesnt actually work , and it wouldnt of looked very nice if i made it, so its now just for looks. update comming up shortly
  21. NAM: Development

oh oh, OH. really want to see actual onland bridges which you can put roads etc under!
  22. NAM: Development

I think all this stuff is great and shld be included if possible in the next NAM, but there is only one true thing that i would love to see, that is more lights on the highways!!!, the only way that i am able to give my highways lighting is to use peg's 1x1 tree thingy as seen in all my cj pics, or by buiiding directly next to them, so i want more light on the highways, some sorta thing like what avenues have down the middle, take british highways for example smirkazor
  23. The time has come for the next installment of confluential, a city in growth. I left off last time talking about the aim i have for this city, not only to make it a succesful, large city, but to make it the main inland harbour for the entire region to export all the industrial and commercial products that are made, so here we are, my step by step process in the making of the main part of the harbour. To start off, we need to create the land for where the harbour is going to be built, how i did it was creating a slit of land around the shore where the road and harbour will go. After this was complete, new land had to be reclaimed from the river for the hub of the harbour to be complete. Some of the ports have already been built. Not only is this going to be an industrial and commercial harbour handling exports and the such, it will also be hold to lots of recreational activities, such as boat hire and fairs. Now that the main part of the harbour is complete, work has now started on building its transportational network, which wil mainly be rail, followed by highway. This area will be entirely based of commercial, due to the lack of jobs in the area, alot of it is needed to quel the unemployment so other transportation is needed to be included, such as el-rail and subways, which we will get to soon. Now that the transportation network has been established, flora is now added, to make the area more aesthetically pleasing. One of the biggest project of this harbour area is with the construction of the confluencial underwatersubway, aiming to connect the incomplete main line to the other side of the river, cutting travel time by up to a third. This is where the subway is likely to be built, both sides will have to meet up in the middle, and can't be off by more than a few millimeters, or the costs could be drastic! In order to complete this task, the mayour of confluencial has ordered the state of the art boring machines with onboard global satelite navigational equipment to make sure both sides meet up exactly. So far so good. After about a year of construction, the two sides are within a few hundred yards of each other, and everything looks on track for completion within the next few months. Meanwhile back on land, zones have been placed, utilities have been built to provide the new expansion with needed water and power, as well as a well equipped police and fire force. Confluencial will become the city of dreams with this new harbour vrining in much needed money and popularity, bringing in many new businesses, taking the city into the new age. Hope you have enjoyed this latest update, within the next few updates i will be constructing the industrial sector which is the main purpose for this harbour being built, until next time. Seeya p.s. dont forget to write comments i like to hear from you all. Need to work on presentation of my pictures a bit , so any tips on programmes would be much obliged. Smirkazor
  24. Anduin Valley Revisited

man, i'm actually gobsmacked , it just looks amazing, the attention to detail is great, such as the light rail, carparks and parks, if i could incorporate that into my cities, they would look that much better. I've been around since the beginning, but yet havent been very active really as i should be, and i can see ur quite the oposite, anyway back onto the topic at hand, these updates (from what i've seen(last few pages)) are impressive, with the use of all these effects, would you be kind enough to let me know of wot you use, as my updates lack these kinds of effects, such as the 3d lines outlining what you are consentrating on, would be much appreciated. smirkazor p.s. The picture at the top of each of ur updates of the bridge and the writing, is that using the same programme, would really love to know how to do it. keep up the nice work
