Wow! Great update! I love those massive blocks of identical houses; simply beautiful. About the traffic cams: Why not make a tutorial right here?

That parking behind the building is a nice little detail that is easily overlooked. The alternative location of the firestation is much better if you ask me; great update, as usual!

Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal

It's so ugly and dirty that it becomes beautiful! Great job, although I don't want to live there! -
Ha! Voted for Amsterdam. I'm there almost everyday and it still amazes me. Definitely the most beautiful city in the world, and famous.. I don't blame myself for being chauvinistic. Paris? Naaaa Too bad Leiden isn't on your list... did you know president Bush's family has its roots in Holland? In Leiden, to be more specific. The oldest university of Holland is also located here, which is still attended by members of the Royal Family... You better put it on the list!!!

You've got a lot of terraforming to do... I'd say: some mountains, more irregular coastlines, some terrain, water and climate mods... and .. forests of course. It's just an idea, do what you like. I wish you luck!

^^ I totally agree, so..... let's start with a nice comment! This cj should be on top of the forum everyday, the whole day, because it's outstanding and original! I really like your style Alkaola. Maybe you're not posting that often? I don't know, but I haven't seen this hidden gem before. I have to take some time to read it all through, but for now: great. great job! Erg origineel en afwisselend!! coole effecten, mooie regio, mooie steden, wat kan ik nog meer zeggen? Ik hoop dat je snel weer 'n update klaarhebt!

My City: Clarksburg Metropolitan Area
utora replied to silvercanyon2000's topic in SC4 City Journals
I like your cj sofar, your downtown area is looking quite good, and you've balready built an immense metropolitan area. However, I agree with the other posters on the terraforming subject. But: it all depends if you're striving for realism of course. A flat terrain? OK, but protect that area from storms and tidal waves! You can be quite inventive in terraforming, even on a flat landscape... Take a look at my New Holland cj to grasp the idea: there I made some dikes along the riversides, and that was also an almost completely flat terrain. You could also use some different water textures, some forests, beachtextures and so on. Check Pegasus' mods, as well as Cycledog's, Gizmo's, Teirusu's, Timotheus'. I wish you lots of luck with this cj! I'll keep an eye on it! O, and download the latest NAM: june2005 -
Kalashnikov, you've made a great start to a promising journal! Your ports are marvellous, especially the battleship row. I wonder, though, do those two giant shipyards ruin your industrial demand (production industry)? I remember building one shipyard in a city, and immediately after that I had no demand at all for production industry. All other $$ industry got abandoned and the whole balance was gone.. so what about two of these things in your city? Do you have a suggestion for that? good luck on your cj!

Wow, nice journal!! Another space epic, and a very interesting one! I love the giant planets, they're beautiful! I wonder what those lights are... extraterrestrial life? I guess we'll hear about that in the future! -
You've made a very promising start with your first cj! The terrain and the little villages along the river look just awesome, very realistic. I wish you luck on this one, and I will be keeping an eye on it.

Wow! You're doing an amazing job here! I love the story, it's fantastic! Those BAT's make it very original. Wish I had a better graphics card so I could start modelling myself. Don't know anything about that and I have to learn from scratch.. too little time for it though. With my 64 Mb card, Gmax doesn't even run properly, it crashes already when I start it up.. . If I could give you some advice, use some terrain mods in your journal to make the terrain look more spectacular. Try Pegasus' Rock mods, Pegasus' water textures; try the arctic mod, or Cycledog's terrainmod. You can find them all on the STEX, just type Pegasus, Cycledog, Gizmo or any other modder you like in the search engine! Great work, keep it up! -
That downtown is just awesome! [:0] Great job!

It's been a while since my last visit... and much has changed. Still one of the top cj's though. The last update was impressive, got a feeling you must be proud of that lake you created! -
Nice update! The suburbs of West Ridgefield look very green, I like it. Nice of you to put a 'thank you' note for us readers

Amazing! I really love that walled city, it's wonderful! The palace is even more wonderful, with the great textures. Makes it look just like a fairytale.. Incredible job, Marrast. I might not be posting often, but I'm a great admirer of your work; keep it up!

Geez, If I have to move, it will sure be to Cordova! Great updates! I particularly liked the Goldiva beach, it's really an excellent mod, a must-have I would say. In one of the previous updates I discovered one of those good old Cobb buildings.. cool you put it in your city (I always loved those). Downtown looks very spacious and greene, really luxury. Impressive!Keep it up!

Hmmm... interesting, I wonder how this battle will turn out! -
Wow MrBisonm! You've got soem GREAT terraforming there, I've rarely seen someone doing such a detailed job, it's really outstanding. I'm very curious how this cj will work out in the future; surpassing Genesis? You must have some great plans then!

Nice update, curious about the amusement park; keep it up, and... you're right: there are a lot of excellent journals at the moment which are being frequently updated, it seems the City Journals section is thriving at the moment!

hkabat-forum-threads Massively Gigantic Japanese BAT Gallery
utora replied to Odainsaker's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Date: 7/9/2005 9:35:56 PM Author: eddiem Date: 7/9/2005 9:08:07 PM Author: utora Hi, got a question (I'm not sure if it's already answered, but I've been searching quite sone time now and don't find an answer) I remember that there's some spaceship-BAT, but I can't find it. Think it's japanese, does anyone know where I can find it? There's also a spacestation-BAt available, but it's packed in a file I can't extract (.gca file). Does anyone know what I need to extract that file? quote> If you mean this spacestation by Dareka, it is a .cab file although it has a .zip extension to allow uploading. You can get it here . The file is- spacecolony.cab.zip ,It will extract directly with Winrar. If using Winzip, rename to spacecolony.cab first. If it's another BAT you mean, please give link. width=799 align=baseline> quote> This is not the file I mean, The file I'm trying to extract is in .gca format. If I download it, it's called spacestation.gca.zip. If I try to unpack it with WinRAR, it says the file is in an unknown format. This is the file I mean: https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//ust.jpg align=baseline> It can be found here (Dareka): http://www.geocities.jp/dareka789/bat.html Can anyone help? -
Wow, you've got some trylu spectacular stuff in here Shadow assassin, can't believe I haven't visited this thread before! Beautiful cities, terrain, isles, and I particularly like the little map in the lower right corner of your pictures, it's quite useful. Excellent work, keep it up!

Wow, interesting project! Of course I'm gonna try like hell to hit your top ten with my new journal! It would be nicer, though, to have a top 20 (since you were talking about 84 cj's with more than 200 replies, this would seem better) Good luck on your rating system!
