Poll: What other city-building games do you play, besides SC4 and CXL?
bowserchomp replied to undo's topic in City-Building Games
I play OpenTTD sometimes. It's not a city-builder per-se, but it's a transportation management simulator based on the classic Transport Tycoon Deluxe, it's still a lot of fun and has a lot of great mods and patches. -
First day of playing CitiesXL 2011 - The Trains System is not what I expected
bowserchomp replied to Boris M's topic in Cities XXL
Originally posted by: zwr100 I actually enjoy cxl 2009. I wish I had more maps, more buildings, and trains of any sort. I don't like mods. CXL 2009 doesn't run very well on my PC (memory leak, single core issues?). These are all good reasons I will consider buying CXL 2011. If you're looking for a true successor to SC4 I really doubt this is it. Go check out SC4 mods because I doubt there will be a true successor for many long years, and the mods have provided a lot of 'improvements.'quote> However, Simcity 4 doesn't run very well on newer systems. -
Cities XL 2011 runs smoother than the last one. I like the new roads, but I haven't really tried the metro system yet. What really gets me is how my companies, whenever they shut down, it's always for the weirdest reasons, like "the manager won the lottery and flew to a tropical island" or "the employees never came back from a desert trip". I guess that means my city is doing just fine, because it only happens every once in a while. It also seems like the traffic and city services issues have become tougher to deal with, like the smaller area effect of the police stations, schools, etc.

Hello, this is my first post here. I was wondering why there isn't a section on here where you could download other users' cities made in Cities XL. Like, download a city file, put it in your game folder where your cities are stored, and look at it. At least, that was the way it was done in Simcity 3000. If this would be impossible, please tell me why. I get bored with looking at static screenshots in the City Journals. And frustrated that I cannot explore these works of art myself. That's a big part of the reason why I got this game!

I was going to play it until it asked me for my name, phone number, address, and all that. I'm glad I just closed the window and read this topic. I didn't really expect anything good, much less a good city-sim from IBM, after all.

Download other peoples' cities made in Cities XL?
bowserchomp replied to bowserchomp's topic in Cities XXL
Come on, now. Someone answer me! It's a simple freaking question! Can other users' cities for Cities XL be downloaded? Where?
