I did not expect Wisoma OR Portsmouth to get into the top 50. But I'm not complaining
-
Ever since i started watching this CJ, it's never ceased to amaze me.
-
Replies- @Benedict; Different timezones but at least i can say it was the last in USA and First in Australia @sbh565; Thank you. Although it is still a small park, i'm thinking of expanding it Small Teaser for Transit; A CBD Tourist Map is in the works, with a full subway information brochure w/ timetables. Heres the progress on the map so far (Please note; Distorted graphics is so it would load much faster.)

Hey CJ, I have a small recreation of Geelong, Victoria. This cj will most likely kill off Wisoma & Portsmouth if i get too involved into it. So Moving onto the Actual city. Region; The map of the region i will be working on. N W E S This was before any Construction began on the Ports and population, But this update will be about what i am planning, and a little teaser. I will be building the first city tile on a large tile near the beach (See where there is a little Peninsula that goes north then back south, Just west of that, and i will be building the Main Port's and port based industries in the Suburb called North Shore, Mainly for its location, The northern shoreline. Now for a little teaser, Heres a preview of the Beach named "eastern beach" with Eastern Park above. Enjoy your stay in Geelong. [Resized image: exceeded 800x600 pixel maximum - Astronelson]

As i'm no longer active on this city at the moment, i will not be updating this CJ until otherwise; I may showcase my new city in a new CJ in the future
-
In my opinion, the CJ top ten should be in the CJ Section and forum top 10 in the forum. Therefore allowing the Forum followers to see their positions and cj'ers to see theres alot easier
-
I would still recommend looking at your Graphic settings, The default is always set to low for beginners. (I believe?)

So a quick news / update about the city of geelong; I have suggest some ideas to the city, and The greens will be recommending them for me, Here are a few of the ideas for anyone wishing to know; 1- More Transport to harder to access areas (eg/ Maybe connect the train lines to Queenscliff to Either South Geelong or Geelong station via the Old Geelong Rail and provide trains there and back, alot of people would rather a train than an hour long bus ride) 2- Try looking at what melbourne and other major cities have done to revitalize their CBD's (Example; More Bike friendly roads) 3- more toursim attractions (Maybe an aquarium similar to Manly Beach Aquarium, It could be built on the new Yarra St Pier in Stage 2) 4- Look at Bendigo's very well setup of CBD Tourism Tram and Melbourne's Prominent Tram system, They bring in a lot of commuters, and a free city circle around geelong would allow transit riders to see parts of the CBD they've never seen before. (Bendigo recently had a Free CBD Tram ride for the week, around 100,000 People rode it.) To allow users to be able to suggest tram locations send a Map of the city and residents could select the tram locations they would appreciate (Pre-located stations by city would be allocated) and thus allowing the Trams to be a Much more greater Public transport system in geelong, providing the city centre with a much more easier access. 5- Before you build the Next Phase of Waterfront Development, try getting people on the street, On Facebook etc to do polls on whether or not They would enjoy the next phase, and ask them what they would like to happen. 6- A Stadium for Music Festivals / Events in the city centre, similar to North Geelong stadium. 7- With many of the Buildings closing due to rent, Maybe make a smaller rent and gain more money from public transport. 8- A ferry to Melbourne from Geelong, This would benefit geelong and neighbouring cities exponentially, Sydney's Ferry system connects most of NSW Coast to the city. If geelong were to hold major Ferry Terminals, it could potentially be the major Transport Interchange of Victorian Cities (Ferry to Frankston, Warrnambool, Queenscliff, Torquay, Newport, Lakes Entrance and other coastal Cities) or a second Major Transit Hub along side Melbourne. 9- Gain approval from Ballarat and Rail companies to allow Trains to travel to geelong from ballarat and vice versa, allowing a more effecient Rural Transport Connection, Making geelong (again) a major Interchange City / Transport Hub, (The city could setup the Timetable so if commuters travelling from one connected city to another city, there is a wait time and the commuters could possibly also become shoppers in Geelong) Hope to be updating this CJ with the SC4 city tomorrow after i take my pc in (i think it is a PSU failure)

There will be no updates until i have fixed a problem with my new motherboard (If anyone knows about installing motherboards, please inbox me!) But once its fixed, I will be re-creating Barwon Heads / Ocean Grove; (Note: Large file. 1Mb)

Good start, the blurry graphics is from low graphics settings. If you have a bad graphics card etc, just set it to high when taking pictures and then set it back to low when building and playing.

So today's update is about the "New CBD" which was selected because of the location. Some alleyways along the brand new Main road to the City The newly Founded cbd already has a new estate at the very edge of it, Named Newtown, It is currently a very rich area; but in the extension of Newtown, it will be a less exclusive and more inclusive suburb. Now for Some Region / City Updates. Old Geelong / East Geelong As no longer the cbd, it is considered the largest Suburb of the city, with over 100,000 people residing in this suburb. The industrial Peninsula, nothing really interesting here, The air pollution problem is slowly dying away, though the water pollution problem has fully died off. The New CBD has grown very quickly with the roads only being constructed 3 weeks after the the plans were released, and the construction of buildings being finished only 3 months after the roads And the Region View, As you can see, Geelong is starting to spraw north but with a few patches from missing infrastructure. Now heres the planned estates for the region, The train line will extend south, north and east and possibly west to Newtown and Geelong West. Enjoy!

Nice CJ, Is there possibly a Terrace in this city?
-
@Kakado_to_save; Thanks, I think its just to do mainly that its all Residential i have built so far are just $$$ Residents, so it will be good to see when the lower class residents start to reside in the city. Updates; All i have for today is a link to the New Geelong CBD Master Plan, (Stage 2) http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/article/2010/12/11/232091_news.html Enjoy!

I like this CJ alot, Try adding some Mid-rise apartments along the shore line on the blue if it gets confirmed would be a great addition to Degel's Skyline.
-
@Aaron Graham; Thank you, But i assure you, it looks alot better in real life. A Rush hour picture; Residents rushing to work in the early mornings toward the industrial Zones. And the extension of South Geelong / Kardinia has begun, bringing in a more Mid-rise Style. Also; Next Update- The Proposed "New CBD" which i read in the news paper.

Now an Update on South Geelong (Largest Suburb so far) The South Tunnel (Express Tunnel to CBD / South Geelong) Sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been busy with Personal life and updated to a new HDD. Thank you for reading / viewing EDIT: I forgot 2 Picture updates. The less Pretty part of town, and the "Adult Services" are provided at the small motel. Looks amazing. although, Sad news about Wiley. I hope she lives a wonderful life in Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you, i was going to ask about the road textures soon enough because i didn't know if you could texture the roads. You should visit Geelong and the Great Ocean Road, great to visit.
-
Geelongs well known for its coast line, Mainly along the Great ocean road and that area. It will be loosely based on, Some things will be put in different areas, But generally a 50/50 factor. I will try to keep it more along the lines of the actual city where i can. Hope that helped

haha, same. :3

This looks promising. You could always use Tinypic, Imageshack, mypicx or Flickr.
