Hey folks wanted to post an update on my region n ask for some advice, So i been messing with ways to connect all these cities both future and old medieval n came to the conclusion that the only way to do that is force a rapid transit thru each area. Thing is i wanna make it seem like the future guys created this for the benefit of others n im totally bent on using the ATEX tubes. Im havin the roughest time getting it 2 work tho, specially on the bends. I basically made a tunnel then chopped the middle out by flattening the terrain but when i get to bends trying ridiculous things, ive managed to get 1 method wrking w is hiding the rail underneath the models but i really want to make it look nice. Anyway lemme know if u guys have any suggestions, thanks a bunch. Oh n by the way im going for a lobster looking island train station thing lol. Ref pics below.

Yeah you bring up a good point, i was thinking if i made a few cities of each future, medieval, ect it would work out or maybe im just going about this completely wrong lol. To answer your question Lordyboy96, yes its ploppable 1x1 farms they are the only ones that are visible in region view.

Thanks so much for your comments Yoshi and Lordy i appreciate you taking time to help me out. I totally agree with both your suggestions, and Lordy i love the pic of your creation, very immaculate! reminds me of Manitou Springs at the foot of Pikes Peak only yours has a bonus lake:D Not sure if i my response belongs in this thread, so ill just spit it out, move it if u need to The cities in the screen shot will most likely be discarded with the exception of "level One" due to its complexity. They were used to make tutorial videos on how i eliminated my CTD issues and some "over the top" mountain terraforming. Call me crazy but my plan for this region is to make it a world caught in a time rift if that makes any sense, basically many different lands trapped in a void and in different times sharing one singular space. I got a few stencil city themes i made for this place like medieval, current time, self sustaining (thanks to simpeg), and even a dinosaur island im calling "isla Sorna" lol. ~ That being said, i gotta admit i haven't really thought about singularity, but your right.. doesn't make sense to just end something and start elsewhere, how epic would it be to see a city change from 1500 to 2800 in just a few feet lol! ~ Building into mountains- ...unrealistic as it is, I really thought i could make it work nicely,.. boy oh boy did i bite off more than i could chew. Never thought i would put so much effort into something and get so little satisfaction lol. Im gonna try to salvage the hours of work that were poured on that sucker n see if it can improvise a way to make it useful for this region, (specifically for the land its sitting on >:# ) ~ Connecting Kings landing and Sailfish shore- Totally my original plan, a few floaters here n there for connecting long sections of hwy and done deal. What an epic road trip that would be! I pulled some road to see what it would look like in region , what size hwy would you suggest for this union. Im also terraforming the islands needed to connect the hwy pieces to resemble sea dwelling criters. ~Pegs Sky Farms- The Sky Farms are an amazing tool but im scared they will take away from the impact of the teraforming i created, heres a close up of the sailfish shore, im so very open to suggestions & advice on the possible options u can offer. again, thanks so much for your input guys, really helps to expand on ideas

Something im working on as a fantasy concept land. Will be adding more terraformed creations in the future, got some awesome ideas invested in this region. Atm im having a problem coloring this sucker in via buildings and other such items. You folks look like your super advanced users of the game and its properties so i was hoping maybe i can catch some advice with a post in this thread. Lemme know what you think of it so far

OK so i tried a bunch of diff ways to make my city "Sailfish Shore" populate and look good without ruining the shape of the land itself, Farms ended up being the best solution as buildings tend to destroy or manipulate the uneven surfaces they sit on. Thing is i also want it to look good from the zone view and while i was attempting to do that i noticed alot of the farms textures turned to brown dirt when zoomed out all the way back. Only a few select farms most of which are ploppable show visible color when zoomed out. So i worked with these limited choices for now. Here are some pics of what i was able to slap together.I havent done anything to the rest of the body because i dont want to waste millions of hours re-doing it if i find a better coloring/detailing method. So heres where i could use your help guys. I see only 2 ways to go at this atm, 1 is to find a diff technique besides farms to color the fish in, and second is to figure a way to make the farm textures visible at max zoom level. Needless to say the fish looks pretty unsatisfying with the current colors and i am not happy with it lol. The layout on the other hand is a going in the direction im comfortable with and easily changeable if need be. Put like 21 non stop hours into this to make it a 1 shot recording, so im gonna catch a nap, and so will my computer ill be on later tonight but i will def be pondering a solution in the back of my mind. Let me know if you have any advice on how i can continue to improve this so a final product can be possible. Thanks in advance folks!

Icepipe: Wow, that must have taken a lot of time to terraform without errors! Now you have to build on it! Thanks Janbiya, I was debating on ways to populate the land w out destroying the shape and your suggestion is epic! What better way is there to color in a fish than w actual colors lol. Is the specific farm set you are using to achieve the look in your picture made by you? or is it available for download . thanks again

lol i appreciate ur comments Konstantil i have only just started making fun cities and this is exactly the response i was expecting so i can become invoved in the future city design scene lol. more feed back = more fixes and better looking cities. u opened my eyes to amazing bats n mods, this forum itself has been a huge comodity, hopefuly thru me u have touched many others
