About Me
Hi there, how nice of you to visit my profile! If interested I wrote a short SC4 autobiography, so to speak. If you're not one for reading, there're pictures at the bottom! Enjoy.
After having played SC4 for quite a bit around 2004/2005 I got bored with the limited amount of content and RL demanded my attention anyway. Then in spring 2010 I re-discovered the game, or more aptly put I discovered Simtropolis after a friend told me. The first half year or so I spend lurking here, as well as on SC4D and SimPeg, meanwhile downloading like crazy and re-organizing plugins on a near continual basis.
As time went by I got intrigued with the possibilities to set the game to my hand and I started modding. The first thing I ever did was make my own sidewalk mod. Shorty thereafter I made my first SAM texture override. If interested you can read more about it in my former thread Street Geekery on SC4D.
Besides the lack of content another, more fundamental objection which initially turned me away from SC4 was that you have to start a city in modern times. Cities grow organically over centuries, which is not to say planning and 'the grid' don't have their place in that process. It's just that I always wanted to be able to start out small, in times gone by and then slowly grow villages into modern day cities. And that has basically been my aim ever since re-discovering this great game and the even more than amazing online community.
Needless to say, that takes a lot of trail-and-error, both in term of modding and you know, building a region and consequently progress is slow. Besides I have to admit I spend most of the time outside the game, be it in Photoshop to make textures, in the Lot Editor and the Reader or just hanging around on the forums.
To date my contributions consist of:
- lot set for DaveN's Timerframe Houses
- set of seasonal tree controllers
- seasonal oldies MMPs
- horse and carriage MMPs
Anyway, I'll leave you with a couple of pictures in chronological order to give an impression what I've been up to over the years. And if you like to know what I'm currently doing you can visit my Mayor Diary Ærden over at SC4D
