den52: With the limited amount of space allowed for in the SimCity 4 tiles, that wouldn't work very well... unless you mean inside of avenues. Then there is a close approximation that can be done, which I use quite often: Lay your GLR track in between two one-way roads.

I had a thought on this recently, and I have a suggestion that is sort-of similar to the way C-Trains (LRT) reverse in Calgary. It's small, and could be made to work with UDI, I think. Basically, a 1, 2 or 3 tile long (depending on which the implementor decides looks best) track segment with a track crossover. The UDI path would simply take the train to the end of the tile, reverse it in the same position, then make it take the crossover and go to the proper side of the track. The downside here is that trains will look like they are flipping back inside themselves; in reality, LRTs drive past these crossovers, switch engines (either use the engine at the other end like C-Trains, or go in reverse like GO Trains), then take the crossover to the proper side. A really bad ASCII example, since I'm too lazy to open PSP right now: ---------------------------------- (4) < Track 1 < ---------------\ ^ \------------- \ ^ \ -----------------\ ^ \----------- (1) > Track 2 > > (3)><(2) ---------------------------------- (1) Train enters here, travels with arrows. (2) Train path flips over here, making it look like the train reversed, when in reality the train/UDI train is simply continuing to drive forward. (3) Train enters crossover and moves to the proper side of the track. (4) Train is back where it should be.

So do you want a list of the bad intersections, or do you want to find them yourself?

There are a few intersections like that... I can second the one displayed. If anyone wants to fix them, I can provide more pictures...

passenger stations = freight train killers?
Hilton replied to GoaSkin's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
If you read the readmes or development threads on many of the passenger train stations, you will find that most were made specifically that way. A lot of people were using the train system as an LRT system before the GLR mod came around. And all that was required to design an LRT system was to make the passenger stations block freight traffic. -
For SimCity 4, you want to use DatGen 0.6.x, not the new 0.7.x versions which are being written primarily for The Sims 2 at the moment. It is SC4 compatible, but very little of it works right now. 0.6.x, on the other hand, works quite well.
