Wright is independent now isn't he... He has his own game development studio "the stupid fun club"... Man if he could made a new City simulation IP as a flagship triple A release, what a way that would be the rain on EAs Sim parade.

  18. Unlocker mod for CXL

Got some Intel on the new Pubisher: FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE Founded in 1996, Focus Home Interactive is an independent French publisher based near Paris, France. Known for the quality, diversity and originality of its catalogue, Focus has published and distributed original titles that have become benchmark titles worldwide -- such as Blood Bowl, Sherlock Holmes, TrackMania, Runaway and sports games like Cycling Manager and Virtual Skipper. On their homepage CitiesXL is displayed for sale and purchuse but there seems to be no news on any new develpments...

In fact, people often come and go on a project. It's just a bit easier to work on something if you worked on it in the past. However, many people may not want to move to a new company, especially if it's in a new country. We have no idea who bought CXL, where they are, or whether they intend to continue development. Originally posted by: saltandsauce i can think of one exception to that rule, EA Games of course, that would mean taking down all the companies it bought up over the years which would include maxis etc. and the developers would still lose their jobs but with the bland out of the market there could be a huge resurgence in game interest quote> Personally, I wouldn't want to bet on that. If EA goes under, other companies may be even more reluctant to do PC game development. I don't want EA to go under, because they develop / own my two favorite games. quote> How likely is it that a massive videogame behemoth such as EA to go bust went more and more people each day are spending money on the game industry and companies; like EA milking money from their many frachises. No offence EA make some great games: Mass Effect and Burnout to name a few. However this is the publisher that wants to charge for MULTIPLAYER (Check out there new Premium Service they hope to roll out), a basic feature. If EA get the publishing rights they will probably flog MC's hard work for high prices on STEAM or something... and MC will never get the good legacy they (and the employees deserve) Anyway enough of my ranting... We can only wait and see what is happening with Cities XL 2011
