I never use loans. I know what tax methods work and I build to demand and in most of my cities I'm making $3000+ a month. If i leave the game playing for a while i eventually get 1-2 million simoleons and then i never need to take out a loan.
-
you can get a lot of money by taxing your industry.. it would stem the growth of that demand of dirty and manufacturing industrial. That could make up your $2000 pretty easily and you won't have to grow your industry so fast. Then, any growth you do add, i would spread out over a larger area, with 1 or 2 tiles in between the zones. this will spread out water pollution.

peg products are just eye candy. they dont have a 'tree' effect. -
Dirty and manufacturing industry can sometimes go as high as 14%. High Tech industry should be around 7.4% and sometimes lower if you really want to encourage it. Sometimes high-wealth Residential can be 0.2% lower than mid and low wealth to encourage high-wealth people to stay. for business 8.2% could work, its all about a balance. then run the game in cheetah for 3 months so the game and occupants take over the new tax scheme

This is why I would never use money mods.. makes the game unrealistic

Well you are using a downloaded AKA ILLEGAL version of the game. You are bound to have problems. I will not provide any help if you are using a stolen copy. It's $20 for Deluxe edition *roll eyes* -
Can I have some assistance in creating my commercial metropolis?
Riot55 replied to Freik's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Attract rich sims? reduce the amount of low-density commercial? -
Clean Air Act in Ordinances will stop the air pollution of farms and minimize it in the rest of the buildings. If you were really into some work.. the Tram on Grass would be sweet.. tram rails with grass between the rail.

I have some large buildings and they look better, and more like real industry. the smaller stuff can be tucked away in a city, but a nice hight ech hub is very nice to look at. and i have some massive 4x6's with only 60 job.. you have 160 in yous?

ok, I was impressed! especially with a hightech 'hub' in my city, I had quite the awesome development. I once again spent 3 days on a city that couldn't build bigger.. I'm creating a huuuge map 8x6 large tiles of Toronto. I will utilize this strategy next game. what a tick off though, building cities that max out at 25 k.. i wish i knew some secrets to build big cities fast. -

I read a good post about holding CTRL and making lots for industrial. I've been able to get some neat looking buildings that have up to 60-70 jobs each. Also, they just look better! Especially the HT industry. However, I don't know the standard sim city lot sizes. This might also be useful for other lots too.. I have about 27k sims at the moment, and I want some better looking commercial, industrial and residential lots. Can someone help me out? -
Res abandoning, eventhough high demand for Res, commercial, and industrial.
Riot55 replied to boardshorts's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
are you using a simulator? also, you don't appear to have any bus routes.. you might also want to change the size of some of your commercial offices. 1x2 doesn't allow the game to build the 3x3 offices, etc.. so you might be limiting the growth of those areas by only having 1x2 zones. also check your taxes. -
