Hey guys, This is the region of Freiburg im Breisgau (my homecity) including parts of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) on the eastern side and the Upper Rhine Plain (Oberrheinische Tiefebene oder innerhalb der Region auch Rheinebene) on the western side. The Rhine river forms a natural border between Germany and France. Scarcely in front of the Rhine river there is another elevation called Kaiserstuhl (literally: Emperor's chair), which is an extinct volcano. Additionally, there are two more rivers or rather creeks: first the Dreisam, which passes through Freiburg and issues into the Rhine river, as well as the Elz which issues into the Dreisam. I used SRTM-Data in order to create an elevation profile of the region, thus it is of accurate scale. So far, I hope you'll enjoy the south western edge of Germany.
