The one where we meet Doug

Zelgadis: It seems the whole points thing has either been reset or is gone the way of...well...Earth. Oh, and, yes. Livin In Sim: Quite all right (why do I feel like I am so behind right now?) zane900: Unfortunately, the corporate world is not a good one for a diety. abcvs: Actually, using a left handed screw driver is quite easy for a right handed person. The secret is getting on the opposite side of said screwdriver, hence reversing the handedness of said screwdriver - after all, you are going from the right side of the screw driver to the left. This unfortunately does not work for a left-handed person on a right-handed screwdriver, as that would take them to the right side of the screwdriver, which is all wrong. -
On behalf of this journal's management, we would like to apologize for the recent lack of updates. "Recent" being the last 40 or so months, give or take a year. It would seem the journal's administrator has recently lost his bifocals and has had difficulty seeing. Rest assured, more will come eventually. Bifocal. Bifocal. What a very curious word. I would almost call it a CODEWORD.

Darmok: It does look like a rather nice place to put a city. I wonder if it can hold almost 8 billion people? Perhaps if they made really tall buildings... Liv: Actually, one of my coworkers has been working extensively on a "forgetting one's keys" program. Unfortunately, she has been unable to get much further, as she is presently trying to retrieve her keys - which have somehow ended up inside a vending machine! Zelgadis: Oh, I have absolutely no plans on messing things up agai.... Oh dear. Uh...everyone...please do not be alarmed, but it would seem a giant radioactive bunny has escaped and could be soon running rampant in the city. Seriously, why would someone even take the TIME to program such a thing!

One in-game picture? One fraking in-game picture? Sheesh.

Firebird: According to rumors around the office, the plans for Earth II had been going on for quite some time - for several years, in fact. Unfortunately, there were quite a few failed regions (might post some sometime, should I find a way to incorporate them into our little story). However, the site upgrade did light a fire under the behinds of many of our employees, who began to work overtime to get this done in time (Note to the living relatives of those employees: So sorry...here is some strawberry cheesecake!) Zelgadis: There have been a few other boats with chandeliers on board. One hit a large ice cube and sunk. And so it goes. SimHoTToDDy: The first picture is from an original Earth movie called The Magical Mystery Tour, which stared a bunch of bugs - one of them named John Lennon (shown with the shovel). It was a very entertaining movie with a bus, dancing penguins and that nice man from the Travelling Wilburies. Liv: That picture looks like it was done by John Lennon - who was not Russian, but did sing about being back in the U.S.S.R. You don't know how lucky you are. Darmok: Oh, I am sure that line is quite innocent! I wouldn't want to get in trouble, that is for certain! abcvs: Not as bad as the time I came to work forgetting my trowsers. Those leather seats stick! Or was that a dream? -

ForeverShafer: Yes, well - Earth, did after all, have a rather good run and all of that. If only this time, we had remembered to include wrist watches in the reincarnation! Zelgadis: Beer? Uh oh. Forgot that, too. Hm. No need. Fortunately, we still have spelll cheack. Oh...bother. SimHoTToDDy: Actually, computer classes can be quite useful - I've gotten some of my best naps during some such classes. Liv: Truth be told, there are some parts of the planet we are still working on - there are quite a few mountains to the east that could use some work. On the other hand, there are rumors from some of our developers that changes could be coming to New Earth. This look a little two-dimensional right now...there are rumors that this could change in a few months! Hopefully, I don't accidentally delete Earth a second time during the transition. Darmok: I would, of course, like to take credit for creating Earth - I really would. Unfortunately, I cannot. The original Earth program was actually many, many, many different programs created by many users - quite of a few of them have passed. In fact, one just went by a moment ago (Hello, Jerry). No one is quite sure how the various programs were bought together into one very complicated program - but, I must tell you, it actually was a rather sloppy patchwork of files. In fact, it was only challenged in complicatedness by the seventh planet of the FViireron 5 system. And, with so many files and subfiles working together (and sometimes against) each other, the original Earth program was beginning to bog down quite a bit. I found quite a few rhetoric subprograms that I think we are able to do without quite nicely. I certainly hope none of those turns out to be of any importance... abcvs: Yes, that had been tried. Unfortunately, my closest save had been done during something called "the '70s", a time in which most people were quite miserable, thanks to a plague known as a Nixon. The next most recent time was February 29, 1900 - but that was just a silly time! -

Hm? Wha...did someone call me? Oh well...nevermind. I certainly wouldn't want everyone here to know that the Balearic Shrew is actually the dominant Earth species (too bad they have been extinct for quite some time)...oh...wait...should not have let that slip... Brother. Am I going to have to delete everyone for that slight slip of the tongue? More comments are forthcoming, but I am presently getting ready to create some more fjords.
