  1. Ok so i'm trying to this map to render but it just isn't happening. I've looked the region install guide on the omnibus about a dozen times, and I don't know what i'm missing. I've got the config.bmp, the png and the JPEG image for this map. So then I go into the game, go to the region, open the grayscale image file dialog, but I can't find the damn folder that has all of the files in it. Could somebody help me out here? I really have been working on this for about 2 hours and no success.
  2. There will be terraforming in the map editor. You just can't terraform in-game when you start the map.
  3. By "properly" I mean will we ever be able to build outside of the original borders without manually plopping roads and buildings? If I'm correct, we have to manually plop down everything because we can't grow zones like we can in the original square. Will it ever be possible to do what I am describing?
  4. What about the data maps that show pollution, water, land value, etc? Will that be fixed soon?
  5. I haven't been following this website and I haven't played SC13 in a very long time. So.... what's the progress on somebody figuring out how to make cities bigger? Or a way to make city borders to touch each other? If there is already a topic about this, please direct me to it. If not then answer me lol
  6. Bigger Tiles

So is there hope that we will be able to build within the entire border instead of just part of it?
  7. Bigger Tiles

That's a wonderful mod, but there are some things wrong with it. 1) You can only build on the north and east side of a city. If you want to zone outside of the north and east side you have to plop down buildings, which I don't like. You can build roads outside the boundaries, but that's it. 2 ) Zone coverage is glitched. If you place a park within the boundaries the coverage zone will be placed in some random place. So... knowing this I think I'm going to wait until the creators fix all of the problems with the mod.
  8. I haven't touched SC2013 since October of last year. I remember that when you eventually build a university, you could pretty much destroy all of the lower educational buildings like grade school, high school, etc. I'm just wondering has this been patched or is it still the same?
  9. So basically all I need is a university?
  10. Offline Mode Coming Soon

This is great news. However, I will play SC2013 ONLY when modders figure out how to increase the city size and make it where the city borderlines connect to each other. Until that happens, I'll be patiently waiting.
  11. I haven't checked these boards since a month after the game come out and I stopped playing the same time I stopped coming here. Have there been any updates that have changed the game in a good way? What about larger city tiles? Any word on that?
  12. Why was my topic title changed from " Is this game still full of fail? " to " Is this game worth buying? " ???
  13. 1.8 million sims!

That city looks so out of place. It's a giant square surrounded by green grass. Something needs to be done about the city size.
  14. I have 3 trade depots and a total of 3 alloy and 3 plastic slots. I have alloy set to import and it will not import. My plastic imports just fine and all of the plastic lots are filled to capacity. I need alloy for my processing plants. Any idea on how to fix this??
  15. I don't know why Maxis allowed the game to be released with all of the numerous problems that came with it. If they would have taken the time and ironed out all of the bugs, I wouldn't be having this conversation right now. I don't really know who is to blame here... EA or Maxis. This is really disappointing because I thought this game would be great... but it's just a let down.
  16. lol well in that case, I put down either a clinic or fire station. I do education later when I have enough residents to tax and a reasonable $ and hour.
  17. Power. I only play on a private server. After that I put down some water towers. You can't build your city without those 2 essentials.
  18. - The recycling bug - Terrible pathfinding. Sometimes a service vehicle will go in circles or all around the city to get to a fire or a crime - Global market. This isn't a bug, but the only way in the game to make the most money is through electronics. The other specializations are not even worth it. Kind of one sided and boring. - Traffic can kill a city. It takes a really long time for service vehicles or depot trucks to get to their destination. Again, might not be a bug, but still... - Rollback on your city. This can erase minutes to over an hour of work on your city. Those are a few issues. I can't name all of them, but there are a bunch more problems that not only I'm having, but pretty much everybody who has played the game.
  19. Alloy will NOT import!

Update: After a hell of a lot of time waiting, the alloy trucks FINALLY started delivering the alloy to the depot. I have no idea what took it so long...hardly any traffic at all in the city. So... I don't think that it's a bug causing the wait time for delivery... maybe it's just something wrong with the simulation.
  20. Alloy will NOT import!

If traffic is the problem than why am I getting my plastic just fine, but alloy isn't coming in at all?
  21. Alloy will NOT import!

I have no traffic in the city entrance. I do have a little traffic on the right side of the city, but that's it. My trade depots are on the north side of the city which you can't see in the picture.
  22. The description says that you need med tech in order to build the plant. Well, all of the industry in my city is high tech. Why can't I build it?
  23. Well, I tried the community college in a high tech industry section and it did not work. I tried bulldozing all the high tech and the high tech shops kept popping up. The same thing happened to the low tech ones. However I started a new city and the CC trick worked and spawned med tech factories. Does the number of students attending the CC affect med tech popping up?
  24. I'm having problems getting regional students to my uni. I have a grade, high and community college in my city. I shut all of those down so I could funnel the students to my uni. Right now I'm getting over 3000 students locally and very few regionally. My neighboring city has 60,000 and a majority of them are not enrolled. How can I get more students regionally? Would it be a good thing to build another uni in a different city?
  25. Come on.. I know somebody knows something about this, right? lol
