Tonks...I have nothing to say about that, absolutely nothing at all. Fortunately, I have now moved far enough away to not feel the disgrace of my beloved home team.

Member of the Month: February 2008 Winners
samantha replied to MOTM_inbox's topic in Simtropolis Related
Congratulations - both worthy winners! -
Hey everyone, I just bought my first widescreen display and I set it to the native resolution 1440x900 and it left dead space to the right. In DVI mode it scrolls left and right when the mouse reaches the edges of the screen. When I put a 4:3 resolution like 1280:960 it fills the screen but is distorted. As if the display is set to display in 4:3 ratio. I can't find a setting in display options to change the aspect ratio of the monitor. Anyone have any ideas? Running an LG L196WTQ Monitor and a PNY GeForce 7600 GS in WinXP

Simtropolis will be meeting with SimCity Societies developers

Well, our boys are just landing in San Francisco, I spoke with Ryan a few minutes ago and he was on his way to find the arrivals gate of the Dirktators flight. I'm sure they'll update us all soon! -
Thanks for sharing guys!!

Microsoft are definitely still supporting XP at the moment, so chances are games will be coming out to work with both XP and Vista for quite some time. It'll take a whilst for everything to get switched over to Vista and DX 10, but it'll be sweet when that is finally happening!

Disappointing things but also very interesting things to see on those screenshots!

Thanks for sharing your ideas and comments about the screenshots, nicely described Alkaola and MrC -
Congratulations Kevin! We look forward to seeing your graduation photos! Good luck for college, Elementary Education eh? The shaping and moulding of the minds of our next generation is an incredibly worthy calling - and there are some very lucky kiddoes out there who will get to have you as their teacher!

Thankyou for posting and signing up here Ogedei, I will admit that you did not find us at our best - but I can assure that such behaviour is not the usual standard of this website or community! Yesterday, was rather strained, to put it mildly, but I think that most of our members here are starting to come around with open minds now! Anyways, welcome and we're glad to have you here!

Well said Joe, there are definitely a lot of emotions running high at the moment - and it is only a computer game, saying that however, a computer game that many of us have enjoyed and will hopefully continue to do so! How about we show Tilted Mill some good old Simtropolis hospitality? We are all above the negativity and hostility!

Valid concerns - we don't really know what they are planning or truly what kind of route they are going to take - it is all speculation at this point in my opinion. What we can do is give them this kind of feedback and encouragement - make sure the best things in our modding section are pointed out so they know what this community is capable of and who knows, maybe they'll even work with us to some extent. -

I see what you guys are saying, and you're right, this won't be like the previous SimCity games - but until we actually have it on it on our PCs and have tried it...I think we should try to remain as open minded and positive as possible. Who knows, something different might rejuvenate this community and bring in some fresh ideas and new people. Opinions and debate are always good, but keep it relevant, and not flaming, or just derogatory comments - thats not going to help anything. -

Obviously there are a lot of riled emotions at this time, and it does come as a shock that Maxis will not be tied to this new version of SimCity, whatever it turns out to be. However, I think we should try to remain as open minded as possible and as welcoming as possible to Tilted Mill, as they hopefully begin to join in with this community. Hopefully this will be an opportunity for us to get to know these guys, and see what they're really planning. -
Its also been a whilst since I've posted in here, so here is a recent(ish) photo of me. This was taken by Ryan on my cellphone, just after I'd had my braces put on!

Wow, thanks for sharing that Hummer - its a great account of the first few months of Army life! Congratulations on graduating, Simtrop is proud of ya!

We're having a little coding issue over there at the moment, the registrations seem fine - but new users are having difficulties logging in. Not to panic, Dirk will get it figured out! Sorry for the inconvenience...everything was going great this afternoon when we were testing!

I kinda enjoyed growing up in the 80's and 90's, I had two great parents who made it a lot of fun!

Well, not content with moving to Seattle, we're moving once again - but just a few blocks down the road. We've found a better deal on rent, and the most exciting news - Comcast high speed cable internet...so you might see us on the net a little bit more than we have been in the last six months - YAY!! *does the no more dial-up dance* p.s. the big day is the 25th of July!! So we're busy busy busy with the packing!
-
...and we have Comcast! YAY!!

We have the apartment keys, keycards to let us in the gates (v.secure property!) and Ryan has a load of stuff packed in the car. Due to all the dishes and everything we use to cook with being packed up, we are being forced to eat takeaway pizza. I also think breakfast in the morning will be a la McDonalds (Egg McMuffins!!) I must say, I am sad to leave this apartment, we have some good memories here - including sitting around our dining room table playing poker with the other admins and staying up until like three in the morning with Dirk trying to win a poker tourny! Its been a cute little place, but we have to move on...heres to hoping our next move will not be another apartment, and we'll actually manage to find a home to buy!!
