They go here: C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Radio\Stations\Mayor After a while you'll get tired of the same music. I have totally customized my music folder over the years. Enjoy!

The Capital of the World!
aestiva replied to spacenuteskimo's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
(Huge invite to a flame war, so I'm jumping in.) What I'm most shocked about is how many of the above posters don't know where these cities are on the planet?! DAMN PEOPLE! get a globe and a subscription to National Geographic. That being said NY,NY. -at least it's the capitol of the western world. -
I saw these through a link on the Presurfer. I posted one pic to give the idea. I think many of these are really sharp, but I don't know if I could house myself in one. Here's the link: http://www.designboom.com/contemporary/tiny_houses.html

I agree. People in the US complain about the McMansion ( I do too), but I don't want to go back to the bad old days of 5 people crammed into row home.

Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh
aestiva replied to st louis dude's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Who said Philly was a craphole ? I missed that. Philly is no *****tier than any other city. I really love Baltimore; It's the murder capitol of the east coast, But it is really great city. -
psander5- Right! I loved the Single Hauz. I have a family of 5 (soon to be six). and I couldn't get by without the house I have now. However, When I was a young man I would have loved to have had a small, distinctive home versus the apartments (Flats) I occupied for years. If you are of limited means, I suggest you DIY, people will respect a unique building.

I liked the concept that the Dutch / Nederlanders had; to make their doorways smaller as they were taxed on the size of their doorways; Leaving the rest of the house of normal size to the rear. Clever.

I guarantee Philadelphia residents have more bridgework than Pittsburghians. -

I got it. Breasts beat fists. BTW Tonkso- I count (from memory) six bridges spanning the Delaware; at least one a double decker. -
dabadon5 - Right, EA sucks. They have totally let down a huge fan base.

Whew! I thought Traveler was a downgrade.

No on has to sell me anymore, I'm buying; (HEAR THAT EA / MAXIS!)

teddyb4492- As a USAF member at the end of my career I salute you for you reasoned response! No human or human institution is perfect, but the liberal parlimentary and republican systems of western government are superior to any system EVER devised in the world. Anyone who believes and wishes to enforce muslim belief on others is no different from from the Fascists and Communists in my world view. I don't care what muslims think god's laws are; the laws that always matter are the ones we as a group vote on, and that strive to give every individual as much freedom to live out their life as possible with out infringing on the rights of others. I disagree with the lifestyles of many, but they always have the right to live that life as they see fit. God deals with each person as He sees fit. An no man or woman has the wisdom or insight to determine his mind. Mr. Amadineghad; kindly go <blank> yourself ! and don't come back.

I make a lot of money, and I know many don't (and I remember when I didn't), but I'd be willing to pay a lot for a SimCity that was truly worth it. Maybe the era of the exclusive game has arrived. In any case "Societies" is weak, and not what was needed or expected. -A

(Posted earlier elsewhere but I wanted to expose my opinion as I hope EA Games might lurk here and reconsider.): "I almost want to cry. I play ONE computer game; SC4. I don’t want some weird SIMSy game with cutesy BS, like clown buildings. It’s so fruity. I just don’t know what to say. I wanted futuristic cities with flight corridors to plan, space colonization!; anything but this crap. They have taken a beloved pastime of mine and handed it over to people with no real love for it. F-ing hacks! What a horrendous disappointment. Realism is what we have been constantly trying to achieve. Who cares if it is harder, I do. I want harder, not candy cane light poles. Bring on the challenge. Stop pandering to the masses. Go for the long tail. Brainy games for brainy people. Corporate sellouts, I hate you! Challenge me! Screw the plebian masses, Make a SimCity game that appeals to the Nerd, Geek, and Brainiac, and earn my loyalty forever. -Aesitva

I choose... C) Both "B causes A."

I'll quote DEVO: " God made man, but he used a monkey to do it. . ." God doesn't have to be limited by science or Biblical record; If god is who he says he is he can do anything, however he wants. I find evolution more convincing of his wisdom and patience than the simplified Genesis story. But, if he really did make the universe in six days I won't argue when I meet him. -A

I'm going to expose my computer illiteracy, but how exactly do I change the shortcut command line? I'd love to stop the startup movie from playing. -A

First, I guess my searching wasn't thorough enough. . . Sorry. Second, That is beautiful! Is that yours/NDEX? and finally, Thank You (I will now go to the STEX.) (unless you might know the link?)(Found it.)

I'm wondering if anyone has attempted the Smith&Young (TowerLife) Building in SanAntonio, TX. I'd love to see it done. It one of the earliest skyscrapers west of the Mississppi. It looks hard to do, but is really attractive. It's two tone in color with functional gargoyles protruding from around the uppermost floors. I have a pic of a SCURK (remember that?) that someone did of it. Thanks in advance; I 'll put a link at the bottom to a page with closeups of the gargoyles. -Aestiva Link to detailed pics http://www.battersbyornamental.com
