  1. My Home Town - A journal about Newmarket

This is the new airport under construction outside Newmarket. It will handle traffic for the foreseeable future with room for a second terminal. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Lancaster-Dec.%2019,%20001124397668.JPG align=baseline>

Condo's are going up a record rates. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2026,%20631123200772.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2026,%20631123200740.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2026,%20631123200699.JPG align=baseline>

The department of motor vehicles has established their regional planning and engineering offices just across the harbor in Brandon. The unique design at the mouth of the Irongate Tunnel sits astride the freeway. Soon to come will be a large construction and maintenance facility at the sight. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Brandon-May.%2016,%20371123190097.JPG width=573 align=baseline>

Thanks to all for your input and support!! Aleking: Glad you liked the update. Thanks. Jacqulina: Thanks for the support. Utora: I appreciate the kind words. GingerBlokey: I really like the walls also, and would like other choices as well. Alabaster: Open land is important in any city as well as access to the water. Traffic_Jam: Thank you. Deathtoall: Thanks for stopping by. Utora: Those row homes are cool, though they tend to take over the 1x1 market.

Hey nice start. You're making good use of the terrain. What are those retaining walls in your pics?

The South Bay city of Southbridge continues to attract new residents with it's many beautiful views of the bay and easy commute into Halifax. One of the newer developments is Baily's Bluff, a mixed use development of single family homes, townhouses and offices. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2013,%20521123074426.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2013,%20521123074623.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Aug.%2013,%20521123074596.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Mar.%202,%20581123076563.JPG align=baseline> One new business has caused a bit of a stir in the surrounding neighborhoods. Hooters newest outlet is both popular and controversial and city hall has received numerous complaints asking for their license to be revoked. The water front is also experiencing a growth spurt with this condo and marina development next to the ferry terminal. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Southbridge-Mar.%202,%20581123076574.JPG align=baseline>

A few pictures to update ya'll on Halifax's growth. The west side has seen a big increase in new construction, yet boasts a lot of forest land parks. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853985.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853740.JPG align=baseline> A center piece of the economy is the Medical Center Research Complex. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853027.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853167.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853255.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853534.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853534.JPG align=baseline> The complex has caused new businesses to move into the area to service a growing population. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853302.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853368.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853416.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853586.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Aug.%2016,%203691122853643.JPG align=baseline>

Halifax continues to spread westward toward the far side of the island. Mass transit and high density buildings help to contain sprawl and congestion. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Sep.%2015,%203591122772922.JPG align=baseline> Atten: Watch for tomorrows newspaper to learn about the new cruise service in town.
  19. Lavender

Yes, the detail is outstanding! The virgin region is so beautiful that I'd be afraid to try building a city on it for fear of spoiling it, but I believe you will not have the same limitations. Good luck.

Some pictures of the new SE Connector as it works it's way over Broad Brook and by the Estey Castle. This route was needed to handle the increased traffic from the Southern and Western suburbs heading into Halifax's financial district. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683642.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683269.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683404.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683463.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683491.JPG align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Halifax-Jul.%205,%203491122683511.JPG align=baseline>

Yes, very nice. Corners and diagonals needed to make this practical. Also some pieces with no trees on top for building higher walls.

I read a si fi book about a city like this. They had cities with a billion people I think. You're well on your way. Any parks planned?

I don't know what you do in real life (as opposed to Sim life), but your constructions are more works of art than anything else. Everything just flows together so beautifully that each picture is like a painting that can be studied again and again because they continue to offer new details with each viewing.
