  1. A New Old Mediterranean Town

Really liking the aesthetic of this city! Also, in the second to last image, where did you get those flowers?
  2. Been working on something I may turn into a CJ, basically imagining the colonization of a new island in modern times. Here's the main port area (basically 50% of the entire town at this point):
  3. Imageshack hacked?

I wonder if this wiki article is related? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_2009_cyber_attacks Of course, it could just be a separate attack.
  4. Eagle Isl

UDI is U-Drive-It, and the indicators are those little circles with car icons on them. They get in the way of the nice pictures. Also, as simsamerica said, ctrl-shift-s gets you the sims camera without needing to click the button.
  5. Eagle Isl

Wow, this CJ looks really neat! A few things though: 1. When you take pictures, take them at simulator speed 1 so that there is no yellow pause line. 2. Turn the UDI Indicators off by going into MySims mode, clicking the UDI button, and then clicking the button to toggle the indicators off. 3. Press the little box in the lower left corner to get rid of the display. Then, you'll have really nice pictures.
  6. Allow Bigger Zones Mod

There is no such mod. In normal SimCity 4, you can hold down control to manually draw each zone so that it's bigger. Also, if you hold Shift, you can get rid of the streets that automatically get drawn.

  9. Can't Find it? Ask Here!

I was wondering, where can I find the Region Census, in order to take pics of large regions? BTW, Hallo7, you can find them here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=112 (You need to be registered on the BSC LEX)
  10. The Straight Seas Region

IsaacTham: If you hold shift, you don't need to make another street in a 6x6 grid. Also, if that doesn't work, then zone half of the block at a time. Anyway, a few suggestions: - Make sure we can't see any of the interface, just the city. - Give us a few close-up shots (if and only if you increase the graphics though--it'll look ugly otherwise). - Those two skyscrapers look a bit out of place. Most users expect some form of realism in CJs, and two huge skyscrapers in a town of 7,000 doesn't quite make sense. With some more work, this could be good, but it'll take quite a bit.
  11. Virgin Shores

supercity: It'll fit, but it won't fit in the blue box you made - it's a 4x4 lot, and your box is 3x4... Also, the building might be too tall/big... but of course, it's up to DTP and the rest of the gov't to decide.
  12. Virgin Shores

Wait a second, DTP, who's farm was the one that supercity wanted to develop on? Was it mine? If not, which one is mine, if it's in a pic?
  13. Virgin Shores

Wow DTP, another great update! The highway has a pretty crazy curve in Oilville...
  14. United Republic of Escambia

Yeah, you really should have actual city pictures before you start a CJ... Nothing to comment on, otherwise.
  15. Can anyone ID this set of r$ housing 1x3

Isn't the point of missing dependencies that you CAN'T find them on your computer? If you find where you downloaded it from, there should be a list of dependencies to download.
  16. Virgin Shores

DTP: I realize my conversion was fairly inaccurate, because I was avoiding doing any real math. But the idea's still there. As far as fast food places in a small radius, after seeing the other evidence put forward, I guess there are places with identical fast food restaurants within a short radius. Still, I don't think we need it in Virgin Shores yet.

If you get the right civic buildings and NAM plugins, the scale is pretty good. The view of a large city tile makes it seem bigger than it really is. Just imagine seeing two McDonalds restaurants within 5 minutes of a drive through town. Odd, right? Especially when the town only has 10,000 people (I think). For a real world example of two identical restaurant-type places, there's the town near where I live. Most of the business of it is along US Route 7, which goes from north to south straight through the town. There's a Dunkin Donuts towards the North of the town, and there's a new one under construction nearer the south. It takes about 5-10 minutes at 45-50 mph to get from the north one to the south one. I think the town has about 25,000 people, though it may be more. The main reason for the new one is because this town is pretty spread out, and it helps that it's going to be right next to the high school. In Virgin Shores, it doesn't quite make sense. The majority of the town seems to fit in about 1.5 miles x 1.5 miles, and the fast food places are pretty much centered. Also, Virgin Shores is small, and already has quite a few eating options. Of course, this is up to the City Planner to decide, but I'm just giving my opinion.
  18. Virgin Shores

Considering that a large city tile is about 4 km x 4 km (I think), 1 McDonalds means you're 2 miles away from a McDs at most. At 30 miles per hour, that's less than 5 minutes. I don't think we need more than 1 McDonalds, and it's unlikely that McDonalds would want another restaurant themselves. Especially in a small town like this.
  19. Still Stone

OK, because just renaming it won't actually change the type of image properly. If you get the GIMP, (www.gimp.org) a free image editor, then you can open the image, and save it as a different file type.
  20. Still Stone

What you're saying doesn't make sense. First of all, answer this: Did you change the name of the image? Photobucket probably doesn't like having two images with the same name, but different image type. Second, if you still can't get it to work, then go to www.imageshack.us, and upload your pics there. Why are you asking about paint? If you've made your pics jpg already, you don't need it. Though, I just thought, did you save them as jpg just by renaming the file, or using a program to save it as a jpg? Using the program will make it work, just renaming won't.
  21. Still Stone

TimeMaster: Everyone has some form of paint. If you have a PC, it's in the accessories folder in the start menu. Anyway, did you try the renaming of the image files? (Save them as jpg, with a different name.) Otherwise, use imageshack.
  22. Virgin Shores

That was a pretty awesome update DTP!
  23. Still Stone

TimeMaster: Try giving your converted pics new names, reupload them, and then change them in your post... Photobucket probably doesn't like the names being the same. Anyone who can't see the pics: Get Firefox, since it actually can see pngs. And while screenshots shouldn't be pngs, there are other images that work well as pngs.
  24. Virgin Shores

DTP: Sorry, I didn't realize that... Just curious though, why don't you want them to vote for themselves? (Unless you've already said that too...)
