sticksboi - I'd be happy to send you the model I built a while ago. The problem is that no one knows how to make it appear below ground. I did some investigation into it a while ago, but I couldn't find anything in the Building or Lot exemplar for the subway station. I can only assume that it's based off of occupant groups.

I'm not planning anything in the way of facade spotlights, if that's what you're talking about, but I will fully detail and illuminate the light shaft. The Santa Fe sign glows brightly in night views. The ground plane is just there to ensure that I don't model outside of the 3x3-tile limit. Yeah, that texture is supposed to be vents. I used it cause it showed some interesting interior detail, but it looks like crap in the renders. -

Okay: next update on the Santa Fe. I added many textures, roof structures, and interior detail beneath the skylight. The next update won't come until the weekend probably, so I'll leave you with this. In the next update, you'll get a night picture. I'm gonna add REALLY low-poly stuff on the inside (my machine is having a breakdown at 150k polys!) and light the windows, and I'm still not quite happy with that rooftop AC unit. jt, would you mind rendering for me? I promise it won't get above 175k polys total. -
There's a special technique to preserving the shadows. I can't really explain it, but I know rubik3 can, since he used it on the WTC.

If you're going to model de Kuip, could you also do one with an American football pitch? From the looks of it, it would look pretty good as a American football stadium. dell Alpi is really cool. Have you ever been to Turin? JEC: I like your sig. Latin's fun, since nearly no one in America understands it.

As always, immaculate CG. Looks even more realistic than Polar Express, but the lighting's off in those images. They probably got killed in the compression process. I'm really looking forward to this one. I'd go to see it regardless of the plotline (that CG is SO cool!), but the fact that it has a good plot is just icing on the cake.

It'll look like a blueberry with blue night-lighting. However, I would keep the blue night-lighting and change the seat color to orange. Blue night-lighting would look so cool.

Thanks, guys. The Santa Fe Building is not only the headquarters of SOM, but also the headquarters of the Chicago Architecture Foundation. It also held the personal offices of Daniel Burnham, and the offices of the Santa Fe Railroad (duh!). -

Everyone: I am pleased to announce that I am now the third dues-paying PDA Associate, the A in PDA. Basically, I'm the PDA steward now that JT is doing Portland and Geoff is away. PDA-ADC Buckingham Fountain Buckingham Fountain was designed and built in 1927 by Chicago urban planner Edward Bennett, for Kate Buckingham in honor of her deceased husband. The design is based off of the Fountain of Latona at Versailles. It has become an enduring symbol of Chicago. The fountain is the centerpiece of Grant Park, just feet away from Burnham Harbor. It has spectacular fountains, with three tiers of pools and, on the bottom tier, four copper seahorses that spray water. The central section lights up at night, and changes colors.
