Thanks iguana_labrat! The region itself is made up of mainly large tiles, some medium ones - no small ones. The region is the equivalent of 8 x 8 large city tiles, and even though there's a lot of water to the east of the region, there's a heck of a lot of land to build on if I ever get that far! A EDIT: double post - stupid web browser!

Thanks jtportland, Mexicanboy13r and iguana_labrat very much! Date:10/23/2004 7:39:47 PM Author:mattc005 You're hurting my feelings... an interchange with no sign hmm.... I don't really know what to say about Clarendon... Clarendon Water --> What an orriginal name The Clarendon Suburbia scares me... I don't know why, it just does... IT'S NICE don't get me wrong... but it sorta reminds me of my grandparents neighbourhood Those are some incredibally low taxes!! Where do you get the rest of the money from? You must have some superly-used transit system... Region views are good, a little small, but now we can finally see all of Norwich! It looks like its time for some farms in some areas... Population of 3 296 208? I think you've past Berlin!! Great as alwaysquote> I'm very sorry Matt, I just thought that I would save you for new projects - hopefully there will be some soon. I have a sign for that already - it was one of the ones that I made before you took over I think, and crappy as those were I can't help but feel a certain nostalgia for them.... Speechless? You? NEVER! Ah yes, there you go! Back to normal, what a relief. I suffer from a deplorable lack of imagination. However, I thought I did well with 'Clarendon Water' - I was up all night thinking about it. My suburbs are deceptive. They may look calm and serene - but beneath the glossy exterior is a dark and sinister underworld - Hell's Grannies! Like Hell's Angels except with motorised walking frames. I do have a well-used transit system - as well as hush money paid to the police by the Hell's Grannies of course. It is a little small - it's difficult to find the right trade-off between amount in the pic and what it's possible to see. Farms? What are those then.....? Thanks for bunnies also! A

SPORTSCENE Welcome everyone to tonights edition of Sportscene. We have our usual round-up of todays action in the Simtropolis Football League Norwich District..... Possibly the game of the day featured leaders Stokesbury United v Maidenwell, who still seek their first win after this goalless encounter. Maidenwell will take great heart from this draw in a difficult match - but the owners, who invested massive amounts of money in the club will be putting pressure on the manager to start turning draws, of which they've had 4 already this season, into victories and start climbing the league. At the Olympic Stadium, Norwich City returned to winning ways with a 4-0 hammering of Bradwell, and in doing so, returned to the top of the league. In a completely one-sided affair, goals from Huckerby (2), McKenzie and Jonson left the Norwich fans going home happy, although they may have wondered why they didn't score more, considering the number of good chances they created. Clarendon Athletic moved into second place with a thrilling 4-3 win at Salham. After being behind on three seperate occasions in the game - goals from Jones and Einarsson in the final five minutes sealed a victory which rarely looked likely. Elsewhere, East Statham secured their first win after a tough start to the campaign, 3-0 at home against struggling Pentney. Meanwhile, Swanton's torrid start shows no signs of getting better after a miserable 2-0 home defeat against Barton Hatch Rovers. In tomorrows game, Parkstone Rangers - looking forward to their upcoming friendly at New Holland side AFC Arenburg - take on a Norwich United side looking to go level on points with the leaders. Todays results and league table.....

Norwich Grows Northwards Good evening everyone and welcome back to Norwich. Tonight we return to the north of the city to the borough of Clarendon. The focus is on the spreading of the outer boundaries of Norwich. First here is a picture of the new more efficient junction 6 of the A406 North Circular. The M1 from the north used to end abruptly with a warning sign to take the last junction. Now the flyover in view takes traffic straight over the roundabout..... The Victoria Line has been extended into Clarendon. This is the sight greeting travellers as they ascend out of the All Saint's Station - All Saint's Cathedral and the home of Clarendon Athletic F.C...... Clarendon Railway Station (217% usage) and the orange Metro Station with the same name (30% usage)..... Some really exciting businesses have opened in Clarendon with modern architectural styles. This beside the busy A1..... Manufacturing has become an integral part of Clarendon's economy - particularly since the Petronas Towers redevelopment in Central Norwich took some manufacturing plants away..... Hi tech industries have developed on this new estate around Clarendon Water, close to the M1 motorway..... Kingsley Road (the A10) heading north out of Clarendon. A concentration of high rises out on a limb slightly..... Another new suburb in the north of Clarendon..... Plush mansion close to the previous business district - probably belonging to a Chief Executive of a Managing Director..... More suburbia..... Budget with a nice helicopter view of Clarendon..... Tax policy - this is largely similar to all boroughs of Norwich, low rates..... Comments most welcome! Thank you. A

SO many replies! SO many nice comments and compliments! I'm a lucky mayor.... many thanks to all you guys! Mikeaut1 - the BATs have added a huge amount to my game experience - it would be dull without them and the NAM - they are vital to the game and it's unimaginable to have SC4 without them. Poses a little problem for the makers of the next game I think..... An important side note: Thanks to all the artists who devote their time to creating these fantastic things for our cities - we all owe you a lot!!! nooneatall - when are you going to sort out that avatar!!!!??? Thanks - the Parliament building is the Schloss Schoenbrun of Vienna, Austria - available at the official game site from Maxis. Alkaola - thanks to you too! I felt Green Park needed some improvement and I like it better now too. subedei - I'm always grateful for your input - thanks. rp2004 - Yes, it seemed hopeless when I started this CJ, there was no interest and I can't say I'm surprised because it was dreadful!! With some encouragement I think people can go a long way - and looking at other journals on the site gave me so much inspiration! Calderdale has made a great start - don't you dare give up I want to see it grow - that's an order! I'm glad you like it enough to call it your favourite - I'm note sure if it deserves that accolade though. Thanks so much. mattc005 - First of all, thanks for sparing me that indignity - you're too kind! I have consciously made a decision to downgrade some of the zoning of residential areas - because they get big high rises and the roads around them can't handle the traffic so they abandon - as you saw not so long ago. But the population still goes up! Weird. Genious?! I don't know about that!!!! The NAM makes it much easier to make it realistic - overpassses make it more realistic also - not many UK city centres have rail level crossings. I'm raking in about

I've always loved this journal - Dr Vu is so nasty. Always lurking - so sinister. Some nice pics as ever - good work! A -
A very nice start to Estramadoura! That cathedral is very popular it's appearing in a lot of CJ's - I'm not surprised as it's stunning. Are you trying to recreate the real Spanish city? It would be nice to see some of Spain - many other European countries are represented in force!!!! A

A Tour Of Central Norwich Hello folks and welcome back to Norwich! Tonight, I show you the progress we have made in Central Norwich and am pleased to announce that I am happy with Central Norwich now and am looking forward to bringing you full updates of new developments again! First, some pictures of new additions in the city's Central borough. In view here is a Norwich Metro station simply called Pyramid obviously due to the famous glass pyramid in the vicinity. Pyramid rests on the brand new Brunel Line. Here also is the brand new College of Social Studies, which has helped take a lot of pressure from Central Norwich's other two colleges - City College and the Royal College of Medicine - by offering not only more desks but a variance in study matter available..... The new Van Gogh Galleries have offered an alternative to art lover's trek into Kelseyheath to visit the Constable Gallery. Within it's walls (under stringent security) have been placed a collection of the great Dutch artist's finest work, including The Potato Eaters and Cafe Terrace At Night amongst others. The gallery is situated on the north-western corner of the busy Inner Ring Road, close to Norwich Station for those who wish to visit..... The new Royal Norwich Opera House, here in the shadow of Petronas Towers, has arrived to stage indoor performances by the Royal Norwich Symphony Orchestra, as well as hosting huge operatic events. Performing now - Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman with Time To Say Goodbye..... Now I am pleased to take you on a tour of Central Norwich as it looks now - possibly it's best ever. Norwich's CBD with the River Hex snaking around it..... Broadwater Island, with the World Trade Centre..... Petronas Towers and the new Royal Norwich Opera House have instigated a burst of classy residential abodes to grow in the area..... Victory Arch, Norwich Roman Catholic Cathedral, Norwich Zoo, Brunel University and H.M.S. Victory (moored). Those darn pesky fast-food chains get everywhere..... The area immediately east of City Of Norwich Airport. Norwich Bowl is in view here..... The area immediately around Norwich Bank Tower is mainly made up of residential med-rise..... Salisbury - where much of the Brunel Line's takes it's route - dominated by it's namesake Sportspark..... Olympic Stadium and Olympic Park..... Green Park and Norwich Station..... Budget and population after about 67 years..... Comments welcome! Many thanks A

Thanks dudy!!!!!! Utora..... Date:10/19/2004 4:13:26 AM Author:utora That's really an overload of information Andrew, since the last time I've visited. Great job, this is by far the most interesting cj concerning transportation networks. I agree with MrCinatit: it's inspiring and gives me lots of new ideas. I'm also very GLAD to see the Parkstone Rangers not losing many games. If they had Ruud Van Nistelrooij I'm sure they would turn those draw games into victories EDIT: Speaking about football: I'd like to present an official invitation here from the city council of Arenburg: Dear mayor George. Currently the new sport of football is promoted with great enthusiasm in New Holland. Finally attempts seem to have been fruitful since the recent construction of the Stadler Stadium in Arenburg, and the council has planned an official opening of this modest football temple. Hereby we'd like to invite the Park Stone Rangers team to play a friendly macth against Arenburg's first professional football club AFC Arenburg. We hope the invitation will be accepted. Greetings, the arenburg City Council Note: Although I understand the enthusiasm of the council I have to make a note here: due to obligations in real life I haven't found the time yet to update the Nh story, but as soon as I have the time, I hope I can present an interesting macth between the two teams. Date:10/18/2004 3:47:02 PM Author:mattc005 oh my.. I've missed so much! beautiful map, beautiful quays, beautiful building belonging to me And now that, I assume, almost done the RingRoad project and Metro project, what's next?quote> Thanx Matt! Well, ring road is done and metro is far from done! I plan to build many more lines to the Metro, but I may phase this out with updates elsewhere (I don't want you all to get bored!!!) like around the edges of the metropolis; improvements to existing areas (such as the Petronas project); and maybe some new areas springing up like a phoenix from the flames..... But I don't want to give too much away! Glad you like the map and I couldn't build a Metro system without giving you a station to make your daily commute to MC Highways Corp. could I? Welcome to page 15 everyone - thanks for helping me get there - almost 10,000 views now.... A

Thanks for the comments guys! Again, I don't think I'd done a great deal to warrant them - oh well, I'm not complaining! You're all too kind! A

Keep up with the good wotk, its really nice, like your Submap to. Cheers Xiziz Outquote> Aaaah! You posted as I was! If I'd been a bit slower I could've killed two birds with one stone. Anyways, very nice of you to say so and I'm glad the new Metro Map is winning approval too. Many thanks. A
