hudders - thank you very much! My PC has 512Mb DDR RAM, 1100Mhz Duron processor (I think it's Duron, could be Athlon) the rest escapes me. gascooker - Little Britain, I'm afraid, does not interest me at all, just not my sort of thing. So I had no idea about the woman from Norwich - I suppose she's portrayed in the same way as Norwich/Norfolk folk usually are - a bit backward or slow? Very misguided, although I would say that wouldn't I?!!! Every large city has it's rough areas, I'm sure I will be able to introduce some somewhere..... watch this space! uncrazycooper - hello again matey glad to be back thanks for the welcome. Thanks for the words of encouragement all comments most welcome! Thanks again A

Norwich Expands Northward With Fresh Sporting Ambitions Hello everyone and may I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year!!!! Well, it's been a while hasn't it? But what more suitable day to update Norwich than today, a new start and the first anniversary of my ST membership! Norwich has moved further north of Clarendon, into a new borough, called Kingsbury. CONRIP (City Of Norwich Redevelopment Investment Plan) has earmarked a large area of Kingsbury for the first of a number of projects to enhance Norwich as the world's sporting capital. As well as having a number of world-class sporting venues in the city, such as Olympic Stadium and the indoor and outdoor training facilities and youth academy belonging to Norwich City FC, the National Baseball Stadium, the National Football Museum, the Casswell Indoor Stadium, the Norwich Tennis Stadium, as well as having it's very own College of Sports Sciences, together with the many soccer stadia and convention centres, the city plans to introduce at least three more world-class venues. 1) International Athletics Arena - a new arena and sports park facility designed more specifically towards athletics (although it will be usable for a wide variety of sports) is in it's planning phase. It is to be built on a hitherto undeveloped area of land to the city's north-west, and will be accessible via the M1 motorway. 2) Stokyngton Raceway - A new Formula One and Superbikes-class racing circuit is set to be built in the M4 corridor as it extents westwards from Thistlehurst. The new borough is set to be named...... Stokyngton! 3) Kingsbury Manor Hotel Championship Golf Course - a 70-par golf course designed with the help of one of the UK's most successful golfers ever, Nick Faldo, has been touted as the next of the world's great golf courses, and the city hopes that it will entice the world's best golfers to compete in a top championship exclusive to the venue. Kingsbury Manor Hotel is actually two hotel buildings, 220 rooms ranging from

  10. Norwich

Well hello again my Simtropolis friends!!!!!!!! Sorry for the long vacation, my word haven't you all been busy since I was last here? First of all, I want to take the opportunity to thank all those who have contributed toward Norwich's Golden Llama award. A copy of my speech to the celebrity crowd at the award ceremony - it is even more relevant here, I feel...... Ladies, gentlemen, dromedaries...... This is my first visit back to Simtropolis in a while, and what a welcome back! Golden Llama for most awe-inspiring city goes to Norwich. I feel so humble - I really didn't think it was worthy of such a prestigious accolade - and I say this with real conviction. To be recognised in such a way by your friends and fellow City Journalists and Simtropolites is a real honour. To win an award is fantastic, but to be nominated for four others is terrific also. Congratulation to all the other winners - thoroughly deserved. Grateful thanks to all who voted for me, and to all of you who have given me the impetus to continue with the CJ and the encouragement and ideas to make it so successful. Thanks also to the other CJ makers - the other journals are all great in their own ways - the CJ forum is an exchange in it's own right - of ideas and inspiration. Thanks go to all the people who have contributed with the creations via the BAT and lot editor - I have said it on so many occasions that without thos Sim City 4 now would be unimaginably dull! Special thanks to mattc005, not only for the superb roadsigns he has contributed but also for being a great sounding board for bouncing ideas and making his own suggestions. And countless thanks to all the people who have contributed to Norwich's success by providing criticisms - albeit positive or negative - and helping the journal to stay interesting by livening it up a bit! Thanks to Dirk and all the administrators running Simtropolis, I like to think that I have friends on this site who I would never have had if it had not been for ST, for this I am very grateful. I'd also like to thank my family and friends, as well as my precious girlfriend, here in Norwich (the real one!) - who have had nothing to do whatsoever with the journal or Simtropolis. A There, so now you all know how appreciated you are! About the concerns over Norwich's future - and if it's dead. It most certainly is not dead, and I hope to produce an update sometime soon. How could I possibly quit after an award and such a great response from the city's faithful followers? You all spoil me. mattc005 - no plans ruined and certainly no anger! Thanks for explaining the situation. Lots of new names having a look at Norwich, I hope all keep coming back when it get's started again, all your support is fantastic. Many thanks for the congratulations for the award also, I couldn't have possibly achieved this without all you guys. ( I know, I'm a soppy git. But at least there's not many of us about fortunately). Thanks again everyone - I am busy and will be increasingly so over the next 8 months or so - accountancy exams and work - but I will try to keep Norwich moving along. A dose of encouragement is always most welcome! Your friend, Andrew

SPORTSCENE Welcome everyone to tonights edition of Sportscene. We have our round-up of last nights action in the Simtropolis Norwich Cup. There were two matches last night with a place in the quarter-finals of the cup at stake. Bradwell went down with a battling 1-0 defeat at the hands of Barton Hatch Rovers. An Edwards goal in first half stoppage time was enough to seal victory for the Kelseyheath side, who now travel to Norwich City in the quarter-finals. In a dire game in Clarendon, Parkstone Rangers and East Statham played out a 0-0 draw with little incident. Deep into extra-time however, the game sprung into life as East Statham skipper Johnson was adjudged to have fouled Parker. Being the last man, Johnson was duly sent off, and things went from bad to worse for East Statham as Parker himself stepped up and drove an unstoppable thirty yard free-kick in off the post. Parkstone Rangers now travel to Maidenwell. Tonights results and revised quarter-final draw.....

Hmm, not too many replies this time - I must do better! SOCCER SUNDAY Welcome everyone to tonights edition of Soccer Sunday. We have our usual focus of todays action in the Simtropolis Football League Norwich District..... Todays match saw us in Clarendon, for Parkstone Rangers v Norwich United. A penalty in the first half from Dave Andrews gave Norwich United an early lead after Andrews himself was brought down by Perry. A spirited fightback from Parkstone saw several chances missed as half-time ensued. The second half followed a similar pattern as Parkstone applied a lot of pressure on the Norwich United goal. First, Williams headed wide from ten yards out after good work down the left by Parker. Then, Parker himself ran the length of the United half and cut inside onto his weaker right foot, but a frustrated groan was let out by the home fans when he sliced his shot well wide of the Norwich United goal. Then, with ten minutes left, United delivered a decisive and killer blow. Parkstone were on the attack, but their corner was cleared by the United defence and sent Parkinson running directly at the Parkstone defence. His pace took him past Perry, who was having a nightmare afternoon, and in on 'keeper Starkey. He skipped round the hapless goalkeeper and showed great composure to slot home from an acute angle. It was rough justice on the Parkstone players who felt they had done more than enough to get back into the game. The Parkstone players looked stunned, and it could have been even worse if Andrews hadn't blasted a last minute chance well over the bar. Full-time: Parkstone Rangers 0-2 Norwich United Todays result and league table.....
