Thanks for all the comments guys. Mattc05 - that building is a bit of an eyesore, let's call it a distinguishing feature, shall we?! That building with the baseball pitch is a church - it's Schmails' St. George Academy. Functions as a high school. Tried using multi-highways on a previous city they are grossly expensive to build/demolish/build etc. Might try if I have a large cash reserve. Cool pic, by the way. Sepsis - the moose on the club emblem is very apt - which team is that, by the way? Mrcinatit - The network addon is very cool, everyone should use it.... Dark Avatar - thanks - I love Singapore also!! Nooneatall - Thanks - I try to give people something a bit different to look at - one of the reasons for that huge palace & park combo. Actually, in real terms, it is roughly the size of similar parks found in London. Dolfan - thanks also! Thanks again everyone A

Still looking great whiteshark - keep it up. A

Regional views: NEWS AT TEN Good evening and welcome to tonight's edition of News At Ten. In tonight's programme, the football season is set to reach it's climax at the weekend after tonight's penultimate round of matches. Both of tonight's gamed ended all square; at the Olympic Stadium, Norwich City huffed and puffed but couldn't blow Salham's house down - with the game ending 0-0. Meanwhile, across town Norwich United came from behind twice to get a good 2-2 draw against Bradwell. So, as we can see from the league table, it's going right to the wire this weekend, with the vital game at Clarendon; if Clarendon win, they win the championship, if they don't, Norwich City will take the title and be crowned champions. It also means that unfortunately, having not won a single game, Norwich Utd finish bottom of the table, their match with Salham is irrelevant with only 3 points left to play for..... P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Norwich City 7 4 2 1 9 1 +8 14 2 Clarendon Ath 7 4 1 2 13 12 +1 13 3 Bradwell 8 3 1 4 9 9 - 10 4 Salham 7 2 2 3 7 9 -2 8 5 Norwich Utd 7 0 4 3 5 12 -7 4 Final fixtures: Clarendon Athletic v Norwich City Salham v Norwich United Thank you, and goodnight.

Norwich Ring Road Project - Phase Two - Stokesbury Good evening folks and it's time to show you progress on Norwich's outer ring road. Tonight we visit Stokesbury, as the A406 follows it natural course around Norwich. The A406 (North Circular Road) and NLR (Norwich Light Railway) enter Stokesbury from Oakhill to the south..... This is junction 2, with the A5. In tis picture is the Oscar Wilde Reading Rooms........ ......and here is junction 3, where motorists can gain access to the Stokesbury Gap Park + Ride....... This is junction 4, with the A50. It takes motorists into the Charrington area just to the north. Also in view here are 20th Century Fox Studios..... The A406 heads east towards Clarendon, with the North Carrow area north of the road.... Charrington - in view here alongside the A50 are ITN News Studio, Van Gogh Galleries, Charrington Church and Charrington Carlton Hotel....... A marvel of engineering..... West Stokesbury overview..... Central Stokesbury.... Cumulative project costs: Upgrades of existing network -

TimeBomb, a Mr. Cinatit collection of stories
andrew george replied to MrCinatit's topic in SC4 City Journals
Contrary to popular legend, the game of baseball was not invented by Abner Doubleday, a Civil War hero in Cooperstown, N.Y., in 1849. The game was actually invented by Alexander Cartwright, a Brit, in 1838 in New Jersey........ Yeah that sounds just about right! We (the Brits) invent all these games then show the rest of the world how to play them, then they learn better than us and put us to the slaughter!!!!!!!! Another cool update Mr Cinatit, good work! A -
This is great!! A very different and interesting approach. Keep it up!! A

Hi everyone thanks for the replies! uncrazycooper13 - I have used the Seoul Soccer Stadium in Central Norwich and have called it Olympic Stadium!!! Also, re the water, I can't remember where I got it from but if you would like it I can try and find out for you....? mattc005 - Thanks for your suggestions - I plan to tackled subway network after I've finished the ring road, I'm only really capable of one thing at a time! I use the T-intersection to connect highways with avenues because a) they look (and ought to be) more efficient; and b) I prefer the way they look, from an eye candy point of view. House of Parliament: is at eastern end of Oakhill, where the A4 comes in from Central Norwich. Check towards the top of page 2 on the CJ for a look.... Dannato and tHe_Dark_Child - thanks guys, your views are always valued. Thanks again A

Norwich Ring Road Project - Phase One - Oakhill Good evening everyone welcome back to Norwich as we oversee the first phase in the construction of the new ring road, together with expansion in Oakhill's development. First up here, at the request of readers, are some transportation data views..... Now then, we look at the opening stage of this phase. The A4 has been upgraded to facilitate the construction of the new ring road (A406, also known as North Circular). Also, in shot here in the NLR (Norwich Light Railway), a partnership plan that will grow with the ring road and help development outside of the ring road......... The sign on approach to the junction.... Now, shifting the aspect from west-facing to north-facing, we move a little north to look at new development, directly west of Gresham Palace gardens. The NLR heads outside Oakhill's border westwards..... Now we take a look at a major industrial estate, accessed via junction 1 of the A406. Generally, A-roads are not given junction numbers, this honour is reserved for motorways, but Mayor George feels it will help Norwich's residents and visitors navigate....... Gresham Park + Ride complex...... Here, we see a stone footbridge helping kids get to school safely. Beware strange-looking men with anoraks and cameras often seen here fixated on railway lines. Homes close to the A5........ Now an overview of the progress made thus far: Project costs: Oakhill - Upgrades of existing network -

It's looking great MsCharamut - region looks awesome! A

What a fantastic CBD, a terrific skyline. Well done!!! A

Okay, Matt, here goes. P = Games Played W = Games Won D = Games Drawn L = Games Lost F = Goals scored A = Goals conceded GD = Goal difference (Comparison of goals scored/conceded. Used as a seperator when points tallies between two or more teams are equal) Pts = Points earned (on a basis of Win = 3, Draw = 1, Defeat = 0) Hope that clears it up for ya. Rugby is an old sport from which American Football and Australian Rules Football are derived (I think). It involved huge six-feet-plus tall men running into the man holding the ball, trying to put him into the first row of the seating area. No head-guards, no pads, and a punch in the crotch for your troubles. So, naturally, I chose football.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. Apologies if I seemed a bit whiney, just trying to think of the next direction to go in with this. Once I get started, I'll be ok and hopefully there will be no stopping me!! Thanks for the aerial pics Matt, the first two links link to the same picture of London, was that intentional? Anyway, they're great pictures and thank you very much for them. And Smartpig, the PM DID help a great deal, thank you very much. Now, it's Saturday and, if you're familiar with the routine I'm in here, it's football night! As the season fast draws to a close, the teams are battling to end the season in glory, or without egg on their faces. In tonight's big game, championsip-chasers Clarendon Athletic visited Norwich United. Clarendon were stunned as United raced into a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes, but to their credit clawed their way back into it with a battling 2nd half display. In Maidenwell meanwhile, Bradwell's championship challenge was mathematically over after they crashed to a shock 3-1 home defeat against Salham. The league table tonight........ P W D L F A GD Pts 1 Norwich City 6 4 1 1 9 1 +8 13 2 Clarendon Ath 7 4 1 2 13 12 +1 13 3 Bradwell 7 3 0 4 7 7 - 9 4 Salham 6 2 1 3 7 9 -2 7 5 Norwich Utd 6 0 3 3 3 10 -7 3 Next week's fixtures: Weds: Norwich City v Salham Norwich Utd v Bradwell Sat (final game): Clarendon v Norwich City Salham v Norwich Utd

Date:7/23/2004 8:52:59 PM Author:mattc005 Well, tonight I have a few things to say: In regards to your very beautiful memorial, i must be pickey to point out there's a Canadian and American flag on it.. Not a British one Hehe... the cars drive on the other side of the road Sorry... I'm weird like that Nice church/cathedral! But... don't you think that the cemetary might be a wee to big? Norwich is nearing the 3-million mark! YAY! Oh dear... I would hate to be a daily commuter in that city... even with the extensive train network... May we see some in-city traffic volume maps? I think you should go into GodMode and add some trees.. especially over the areas around the palace and empty areas like on the hill in Oakhill. And now, a piece of advice: Don't zone high-density in the outer areas. Keep it to low and some mid-density. I know some people say that airports, zonings, etc. don't affect the whole region, but in my experiences of gameplay, it does. If it works right and you start zoning only low density and some mid-density (very little mind you), the demand for high-density will keep building up and up and eventually be off the graph. When this happens, go into Central Norwich or Kelseyheath (or anywhere along the river around the U-Bend), and you SHOULD have a major building boom. but make sure you have really good EQ's, fire/police/school coverage, and high desireabilities and land values. This should help with the no-developing parts of Norwich And, I believe that's it. If I feel like posting anything else, you can be sure I will. quote> Thanks again for your comments Matt, you're a genuine regular!!! (A fan, or just feelin' sorry for me?!!!). 1. If I was a whizz with the LOT editor or had time to figure it out, I would have changed it to a British flag, but oh well! 2. Yes, we Brits drive on the left side of the road - we love to be awkward.... 3. A population of almost 3 million - and a bunch of poxy 3x3 cemeteries to bury all the dead - I've heard of paper and glass recycling, but graves......? 4. Yay!!!! 5. I hate being a daily commuter full stop. Much rather: lay in bed/play sim city/visit simtropolis/go back to bed..... 6. The hill in Oakhill (Parliament Hill) IS covered in trees...... The suburbs will start after I've built my ring road. So I haven't reached my outer edges yet, not by quite some distance. I know what you're saying, and fundamentally I agree, but I can't be bothered with zoning low density, then mid, then high, I just go for the jugular - decide what I want it to look like when I'm done - and zone accordingly. I have already made quite a few suburbs throughout the region, but the urban sprawl REALLY will sprawl. Only problem is - I went to play tonight, but decided not to. Getting a bit bored maybe, need some encouragement or inspiration to get the enthusiasm back....

Oakhill Expands To Give Norwich It's Imminent Ring Road's Route Good evening once again folks and welcome to Norwich. Tonight we're back in Oakhill, the site of Gresham Palace and the Houses Of Parliament, to report on developments. The A4 corridor has been expanded westwards, from Pentney Services almost as far as Gresham Bridge. The first picture here is of Liberty Square and Liberty Square Station. Built in honour of fallen soldiers who lived and died in the name of freedom, throughout the ages.... Next here is the beautiful Church Of Our Lady. The Church is hamous for the services it gives at important occasions such as Christmas and Easter, and tourists flock to snap the winderful flowers in bloom...... Due to a rocketing population Norwich has felt the requirement for a large cemetery. It has also felt such a requirement to commemorate allied troops who have lost their lives in the two Gulf Wars with Iraq. Politics aside, we must honour their courage and dedication.......... A new sporting arrival - Pentney Football Club near to the A4 Pentney flyover..... Back to Liberty Square (far right) and some offices have sprung up...... A little further west takes us to a mainly residential area, with the Royal College Of Engineering in the bottom left corner..... Just to the north of the Church Of Our Lady, is Pentney Golf Course on the banks of the River Hex. With Gresham Palace on the opposite shore, this is one of the most exclusive clubs in town...... And now, we ascend in the helicopter to give you two aerial pictures...... Economics after 30 years: Population: 406,985 Funds:

Thanks very much for the comments, peeps: Emergent Fungus/dudyconstructor - As you can now see I have used ImageShack and will do so from now on. And thanks foe the positive comments dudyconstructor. Mattc005 - Yep, close-ups finally here! Just wanted to make things fit into a planned pattern (to make you think I know what I'm doing here.......) I have started with a few RCI ploppables, it would have been nice to get everything to grow but I've tried and found it's nearly impossible and lost some hair in the process (can't have that at my age). Olympic buildings? I know about the Beijing 2008 Stadium project and am waiting with baited breath, but are there others? (or am I hopelessly out of date on this issue?). My budgets throughout the region could probably cope with using all modes of MT, may need slight adjustments on taxes (which are dirt-cheap in Norwich) and thanks for bunnies!!!!!!!! A

Okay everyone, this is my first shot at using ImageShack, hope it turns out well. If it does, massive thanks to J.O. for his excellent tutorial.....
