  2. Bit of trouble with the Update

    Fixed. Thanks!
  3. Bit of trouble with the Update

I'm having a bit of trouble with the Maxis update for mac. I managed to find someplace to download it, and I downloaded it, and the NAM. My only difficulty was that when I checked my city files afterwards, every tree had been stripped. All of the default (maxis) parks became basically lawns, fire stations and police stations lost trees and parking lots, and so forth. This is, as far as I can tell, only true for the Maxis lots. When I went back through my downloads, I found out that the update was causing the problem. Once I removed the update file from my applications/Simcity4/Simcity4Data/Plugins file, the problem went away. In installing this file, I followed all the steps written on this forum (linked from zelgadis' file-sharing site), putting the space at the beginning of the update folder name, putting an asterix in front of the NAM folder, etc. I'm more or less technologically illiterate. I got the impression from what other people have said on this forum that you really need the Update to make the NAM work properly. Is this an accurate understanding, or can I run NAM without the update and everything will be a-okay? Thanks for any help you can give.

I love it. It's small, which makes it perfect for a small town. I have only one problem; no jobs, at least not on my mac. Other than that, it's perfect.
  5. Get your Maxis files here!

First off, thank you a million times for putting these files up. Now for the question. I'm on a Power PC Mac G4, and I'm not the most tech-savvy person in the world. I downloaded the Lot Editor Installer and the BAT Installer. My only problem is that they downloaded in .exe format, which my computer doesn't seem able to read. Is there any way I can get my computer to read these files that doesn't involve $130 for a program I'm only going to use once? I really want to use them, but I don't have money, and I'm really not very smart when it comes to computers. Thanks for any help anybody can give me.
