  1. Chain Island

Ok well first off, the piers good. I like that. Second, turn off the grid, you can do that by pushing G. Other than that it mostly just needs some more development towards the inland. See ya around! Nickk
  2. Wilton City -

Nice update, I really like your use of the "ThanePlace Lofts" lol yes ive used them so much I actually memorized the name. +Thats A LOT of traffic on your highway lol I guess you werent kidding when you titled it the "City of Traffic" As for the ports I like the older ones more than the newer ones but thats just my personal preference, all in all it looks really good! Nickk
  3. The City of Santa Clara

Repetition often occurs when building monstrous cities lol. Larger cities are very difficult when it comes to trying to make a huge skyline, thats where BATs come in handy lol. This is how I build my cities: 1. A centralized dense commercial core (usually highrises plopped by myself) 2.Mid rises and taller apartments skirting the dense inner core. 3.Blocks and blocks of New York/Chicago style row homes. Row homes are supposed to look repetitive so it makes the city look more natural, but when there are a bunch of tall commercial buildings that all look the same it just doesnt "fit", you know? 4.Then, to individualize all the blocks of rowhomes you can add landmarks or parks that give each little borough its own unique personality! For example: Many of my boroughs vary by landmarks, whether its a statue a fountain, or turning it into a certain district, such as a theatre district or a scene for nightlife. Im glad to help but as for now I think Im gonna go to bed lol. After all its almost 3am here in Chicago! Nickk
  4. The City of Santa Clara

Ploppable buildings come available in anything you can imagine! Whether its a new school or a fire department, a highrise office building or a tiny suburban home, the STex probably has it. Just type in keywords to the building you want to find and I doubt youll be disappointed! IllTonkso is an amazing batter, along with SimGoober, Pegasus, Equinox, gshmails, pooty, pmiller, onlyplace4, haarlemmergold, and mrbisonm. But those are just the top ten STex contributers (in no particular order) There are many other great BATters out there. Infact the STex contains 11,694 files available for download so I bet you can find just about anything you want! Best of luck in continuing your new CJ! NIckk
  5. Suburbia

I like this lol, it totally reminds me of like Compton. Or like when Im flying into LA and see all the ghettos with their little palm trees all over the place and cruddy one story houses everywhere. And ofcourse its fine with me if you call me Nick, its way shorter than Tigerplayer91 lol. Keep up the good work Ill be back! Nickk
  6. The Wasatch Front

thats kind of what i wondering too lol
  7. A few questions

It looks like you dont have enough jobs, unless you have the modd that quadruples the amount of jobs produced by industry. You probably need to zone more jobs. Nickk
  8. A few questions

Green traffic is how much traffic there is on one road. If its green then that means there is not a lot of cars. It doesnt mean that the commute isnt long. And the "No Water No Way" could mean either that its shut off due to pollution, or that there isnt enough of it to satisfy all your sims. How to solve these problems: -Build jobs closer to homes to shorten commute time. -Build more water pumps/water towers (water pumps are more efficient) and if your water is polluted then clean it up with a water treatment plant. Hope I helped! If you have any questions just private message me. See ya around! Nickk
  9. The City of Santa Clara

Too many pictures is never a bad thing! : ] One improvement though, if your computer can handle the extra memory. I suggest download more custom buildings, just to give your city a more realistic feel. Other than that everything looks great! Ill be back for more! Good luck in the future! NIckk
  10. Wilton City -

Looks great so far! Cant wait to see more! Nickk
  11. Astea | ELECTION RESULTS Incoming - Part 1

  14. Savoie; la Monarchie Alpine [Starting Page 20!]

Darnit! I was really looking forward to life in my spacious condo in the big city. Guess me and twigs dont get to be neighbors lol. Ok, so Ill take huge Apartment on Kuola Island. (#1) The view of the water looks magnificent. Nice new update by the way, your cities are so *fabulous* lol +btw thanks for the inspiration for my new avatar, I am totally stealing your idea about putting the lines around the edge. Ill def be back for more! Nickk
  15. Multiplayer Vinerby

Well this is the Simtropolis City Journal Forum... It would probably be most appropriate for your City Journal to be in here if you posted about it through a thread.. Otherwise that really does sound a lot like advertising. Have a nice day! Nickk
  16. Multiplayer Vinerby

Unless youre planning to carry on this City Journal at Simtropolis, then I dont think that this belongs in the City Journal Section. It seems more like youre "advertising" to me... +You might attract more people if you said what exactly it was about, Im not trying to be mean about this either by the way. It just needs some further explanation as to what youre planning on doing and sounds more as if it belongs on a SC4Devotion thread. See ya around! Nickk
  17. Side-by-Side Tunnels

I too was wondering if theres a way to do this. It stinks to have two tracks in a viaduct and then when I try to get them to run under my city instead of cutting through it I have to merge the second track into the first. It looks kind of stupid..
  18. From Null to Now

This CJ totally reminds me of CivCity: Rome. lol its looks awesome! One suggestion though, if you want to add some liveliness to your streets there is a ploppable tile on the STex that creates sims randomly in the streets. But besides that youve got a pretty good CJ so far Ill be back for more come next update! Nickk
  19. onlfofun

Hey nice CJ so far! One suggestion though, your city would look great with some break walls! If you want you could try looking under "Jeronij" in the search section Otherwise everything looks great, I like all the stadiums! NIckk
  20. which zone needs what ?

Residential zones love the basics. You know, education, crime protection, fire prevention, and recreation, oh and cant forget health. So basically, a lot of parks, decent schools, police stations, hospitals, and fire departments. Industrial zones depends on what your trying to attract, dirty industry will take about whatever it can get. If your trying to attract High Tech Inudstrial then you need to put some parks and plazas in, and get rid of the pollution from the dirty industry. Commercial- Just about the same stuff as residential with the exception of hospitals and education. Commercial buildings like police and fire protection, and plazas. Hope I helped! Nickk
  21. Suburbia

Lol wow. I think L.A. style should be "hollywood style" but the other ones seem just about right. though when I traveled to LA we didnt really go near the ghetto so you never know lol. Nice updatee. NIckk
  22. hkabat-forum-threads nihonkaranws asian bats

wow thats really good! I wish I had any amount of BATting talent lol
  23. Suburbia

My hood, ha thats great. Cant wait to see some more of that beautiful ghetto! Dont forget to place the oh so traditional El-Rail next to the R$ home. lol Ill be backk for moree come next update! Nickk
  24. Crashes

Ha! Ask Maxis for help? Thats greatt. Nah there support branch has stunk for a longg time. lol, plus I guess it doesnt help how old the game is. Theyve probably got a much bigger support team for Societies. You have absolutely no BATs at all? If not then it might just be a bad CD, which is something youd have to take up with the store you bought it from.
  25. Hello
