    Well done!!!

Update: Sorry for the bad quality. I hope you can see it now, Jacqulina! Btw this is zoom 5...is the building too small??

I got some bad news but also some good ones. Bad news: i had problems with the export of the Palmetto Tower [ it took me 1.5 hours for 22% of the progress and then it just stopped moving] Good news: i started a new building. It's a fictional store called Greg's Store I really hope that i'll be able to export it. I'll add some details and add some better roof textures. By the way the sign doesn't have any texture yet - it's not intended to be blue. Screenshot:
  4. Thanks Jasoncw and SimFox
  5. Hello. I have an object (box) and i want to 'put a hole into it'...sounds stupid, i know. This could help me to create an entrance. I know that there's a modifier in 3dsMax that's able to do that but is it also possible in Gmax? By the way the modifier worked like this: you have two boxes, one of 'em is a little smaller than the other one. You drag the small one to the place of the entrance (= hole), you choose the bigger one and add the modifier (don't remember the name),select the small box and that's it! Do you have any idea?

Thanks for the comment. Whenever I choose the 'zoom 5 render' the same image appears (zoom 3, ...). The size is 800x5000 though (the zoom3 render is 150x1000 or something like that) Remember that the tower isn't finished. It's not very detailed yet! Screenshots: http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/4584/42888316dv1.jpg http://img78.imageshack.us/img78/8493/69407840vh4.jpg http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/7296/71431903al0.jpg
  7. Thank you Jasoncw. You helped several times now, thanks
  8. Thanks Edit: I just added nightlights. I created a render preview. The day render appears but then there's a render called 'night lights'. I can see it for 1 or 2 seconds and then there's suddenly a render called 'night render'. This render doesn not include the lights i added. Sorry for the double post.
  9. Hello. Here's a preview render: You can see that the top of the tower doesn't appear. What can I do?
  10. I just finished my first custom content and imported it. It's a simple model and it's intended for testing the Bat tool. By the way I know it's a little big...
  11. Thanks for your help guys The fence looks good now so it's finally done. I will export it and create a lot. If you like it i will upload it to the STEX. By the way what category is it? Parks and recreation (ploppable?)?
  12. Hm it doesn't work. The first preview -> Rotation : West ; the second preview -> Rotation: East Could it be the light or the camera that effects this problem?
  13. Thanks for the answer but it doesn't work. There's a texture on the one side of the wall/box but you can't see this texture on the other side of it. Here's a screenshot that visualizes my problem:

  15. Thanks for helping me. But there's another problem (). I apply the texture but some parts of the object remain grey. By the way you see the alpha mask in the perspective viewport but the render shows the fence the way i wanted it to look. So that's a good thing!
  16. I just started to create chain link fences around the court. But there's a problem... I have a texture of the fence and a alpha mask. Without the alpha it wouldn't look like a real fence. So i apply the texture and i see that i can't choose the right alpha source which is 'Image Alpha'. Here's a screenshot: I hope you can help me.
  17. Thanks autoVino By the way you can't see the selected faces that are red as soon as you select them in the perspective viewport, right?
  18. Thanks for the comments - i appreciate it. Originally posted by: patriots_1228 i tried this once...unfortuantly the court looked too wealthy and so i stopped making it. anyway yours looks nice just make the hoop visible and add some maxis basketball player props. Also chain link fences around the court would look pretty ghetto.quote> There's a problem: whenever i tried to put some player props onto the court they didn't appear and i don't know why. I see them on the right side (the bird's eye view) but in 3D they become lost in some way. I will upgrade the court and probably show you some pics tomorrow!
  19. Originally posted by: Jasoncw For your first problem, I don't know what you mean. Can you show a picture? For the second part, I think that should be possible. I've never personally done it, but I've heard that it is. Also, after converting something into an editable poly, you can select parts of it, and there should be a button called "detach" somewhere, which will detach the selected parts and make them into a new object if you want.quote> 1 object - 2 textures Is it possible?
  20. I just created a skyscraper. There's a box but i don't want it to look like a fat piece of concrete. So the sides should have a different texture. I'd like to convert it to editable poly and then select a poly and add the texture to this particular poly! Is it possible? Thanks in advance
  21. Thanks Jasoncw! Since I'm having problems with the height: What's the size of a one-story apartment in Gmax?
