Absolutely awesome. As a native of San Jose, I hope you put the spotlight there for one of the chapters. If I'm not mistaken, the building on the bottom left of the 17 overpass pic is Frys... Good Luck!

Hello everybody! This will be my 3rd CJ, the first ones didn't turn out too well. Updates for this one will come every Sunday for as long as I have time. Hope you enjoy! Welcome to Avalon. The city's revival after the 2000 depression. Avalon is becoming an important town. Meynouth County has decided to cristen County Route 48/Avalon Avenue a new bridge into town. With the new CR48 in place, Avalon officials have authorized a new development north of town along Spring Street. New farms are in place along Avalon Avenue to boost industry. Our fair city at night. The farms spur new development on Shoreline Road. New farms at Shoreline encourage the city to grow even further! Thanks for looking, the next update will be on 30 March 2008. Feel free to post any thoughts, criticisms, or ideas.

Hello everyone, thanks for looking. Sadly, this CJ will have to be canceled until SimCity 4 is working again for me. There is a glitch where, after I load a city, the game instantly shuts down. If there is any help available, PLEASE tell me. I am reinstalling, and hope to start the CJ back up again soon with my archived Avalon. Cheers.

Welcome back to Avalon! I got some new trees, some new houses, and farms. My pix are now at 800x600. We have new development in the shoreline area. Our Farmer's Market encourages growth in agriculture. The state has decided to route I-9 through our city! This will for sure bring new commerce! A new interchange is planned to intersect with I-9. Avalon Avenue is extended to reach all the way to Iron Point! With new growth imminent, the mayor commissions a new, modern city center to be built. Farms to the south of town house a new stable. Hope you enjoyed! See you next week!

Do I really need Winzip?
spectrumtech replied to TheTitanicExpert's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Try Izarc. It opens any zip file type (rar, tar, gz, targz...) and its free. I use it and it's awesome! -

I have been wanting to do something like this myself dude... AWESOME! I, too, am a native of San Jose. I live at Saratoga and 280. Maybe I could do just a scale model of San Jose. Anyway, this is so cool! Good luck...

I live in Northern San Jose, and the earthquake broke two windows, jammed the garage door, and made the siding fall off the second story of my house. I've seen worse, but it was pretty scary.

The US's most pathetic highways
spectrumtech replied to Duke87's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Also, I totally support The_Hutt's remarks about I-205 thru Tracy. As a San Jose resident, and a commuter to Stockton, I go thru that hell daily. -
The US's most pathetic highways
spectrumtech replied to Duke87's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
My vote would have to be cast to California State Route 152. It connects the gigantic metropolis of the Bay Area to the east side of the Coast Range and I-5! From 2miles out of Gilroy, it turns into a windy, narrow, not-divided two lane road until you go the 30 miles to Casa de Fruta. While in the damned countryside, it is shuffled around onto a bunch of crap local roads until we hit the mountains. This stretch of road was given the moniker "Death Alley", whick still holds true today. Do you know what the gigantic project by CalTrans is to fix this? They are gonna put in a damn stoplight at 156-152! That interchange is another problem by itself. At rush hour, there is a parking lot from the interchange near all the way back to Gilroy. On a different topic, let's go to the other side of the mountains to a nowhere town called Los Banos. THe stoplights, turning lanes, and traffic cops there are so completely inaccurate. WHile pulling out of a sidestreet, I got in an accident on CA-152 thru Los Banos! Even further along is the terminal junctore with Hwy 99. Also nicknamed "asphalt hell" THe exit has wrong signs, ramps leading to nowhere, and an incredible large amount of traffic. Although I hate this stretch of hell, I have to say the road between 152-156 interchange and I-5 is very well planned out. Thank you for listening to my tirade. -
Make San Jose, CA bigger than any other city. It's 5x as big as San Francisco, but -100x as popular and recognized.

Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!
spectrumtech replied to Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya's topic in SC4 Showcase
This is my most evil (and totally packed, yet very functional) Interchange I have ever forced on my poor Sims. If anyone wishes to go anywhere in Curry or Iron point, they must go through this interchange. Traffic nearly always is at a dead stop on the Twin Rovers Expressway and the North Iron Point Freeway. -

What city and/or town in your area needs to "clean up its act"
spectrumtech replied to manman99's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
San Jose, California, San Francisco, CA, Oakland, Ca, and surrounding towns and burbs need to cut down on crime and give tax incentives, also a big polluter!!!
