And i don't believe you really need to have a neighouring city for the rail freight station but it wouldn't hurt to have on, since i'm not certain of the game itself. I think it does contribute however.

I played your city. (very nicely organized by the way) But i think most here would prefer if you just posted up screenshots of your city instead of the city files. Though i thank you for it. Anyways, try turning all your streets to roads, I did that and got a population boost not to mention some new development. Also your crime needs to be reduced as well FYI surprisingly monorails helped as well. But thats from my standpoint. I don't know what others have to say. and as hawkpride147 said. Do you have the NAM?

Just when i had all my worries behind me, this comes along. The problem now lies with the seaports. Specifically Upgradeable Seaports Revamped by mrtruesage . All was well with the seaport, Untill it asked me to reconstruct it to the third stage seapot. Was it international seaport?. Well anyways here is what happened after i clicked on the yes option. The funds......current spending amount on the red goes from being reasonable to.. well you can guess my expression. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Is this the mod request thread? Is it possible to request a mod that shows the layout of the subway system in the regional transport view or does such a mod exist already???

MAJOR VIDEO CARD PROBLEM
Shadow_prophet replied to Citymaster13's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Same here. I changed the card to replace my old one as well but this annoying problem kept on rising up. Especially when i was playing Black and white 2. I took it back to the store left it there for 5 days and the guy still couldn't fix it. Then i called DELL and asked them since i bought the comp from them and they notified me of a possible issue concerning compatibility between the motherboards and certain cards. Sucks. Oh and i also kept on hearing something about the card will boot theVPU recovery program when it reaches a certain temperature. Was it 66 or something.? Google VPU recovery and you'll see you're not the only one who ever had this problem. Sorry i couldn't help. maybe someone else can who actually solved this. -
MAJOR VIDEO CARD PROBLEM
Shadow_prophet replied to Citymaster13's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Don't take my word on this okay but i don't think its a game problem. I had this same exact thing happen before but on a different game. I believe the problem was an incompatibility issue between my video card (my old card was a Radeon x1800 i believe) and the motherboard. It kept on doing the same exact thing your experiencing right now. I solved the problem after changing to a new graphic card (Nvidea) and that was the end of it. So in a sense i accused the problem on the video card itself. I beleive some said it was a heating issue ?? However don't take my word for it. I'm not 100% sure since i never really solved the problem myself. -
Basically it helps with the zoning process, Alt key give an alternative style of zoning and the ctrl key zones a block in the size of your choosing (used for getting a specific building with a specific lot size to grow in your game). Give it a try. Zone an area but before you release the ouse button, press either the alt key or ctrl key.you'll learn all this with experience.

Did you try using the ALT key and the CTRL key when zoning?

Is your graphic settings set to software render or hardware render?

My city has over 1.6 million people and its the best i have done, but after some small exhibits of my city on Simtropolis here, i recieved a couple of comments regarding my city's airport location claiming to be unrealistic. Here is the city: As you can see the airports (2 international airport, 1 large & 1 small) are smacked in the middle of the city on the island. Now then i have heeded these comments seriously and decided that yes indeed my airport needs to be moved to a more suitable location on the map in order to get realistic ( visually) take off and landing scenarios. Trying to achieve some small sense of realism. So basically i am just poking around asking for suggestions on which area would be best suitable to raze over and place my airports since i can't seem to bring my self to a decision on where the best place is (yeah i'm that bad). Big thanks in advance. PS: If you require more pictures i'll be glad to provide them. Edit: Oh btw i'm trying to just restrict it to the Island part only.

Thanks everyone for your prompt replies. I'll begin to move the airport after i clear the space in the area near the coast line. Thanks for your suggestion. Originally posted by: patriots_1228 well see, you dont need a realistic location for your airport, because your city itself is unrealistic. Were you making a city with a normal skyline, not a superskyscraper city, i would tell you to move that. But your playing style it appears is not realistic, so therefore, you dont need a realistic airport now, do you? btw: it sounds like im insulting your cities but im not. im just saying that it appears you like to get as many skyscrapers as possible, so therefore your playing style wouldnt require realism for your cities to be good...blah..blah..alright i cant even understand myself anymore quote> I understand where you're coming from. Yes it is true that my city has an unrealistic level to it considering the amount of skyscrapers it has but i'm not looking for "Real life realism as well" but as i said a "small sense of realism" Because even with all the sci fi ideas i have developed and planned for this city to explain its workings, i surely cannot change the laws of physics and logic make-beleiveing a commercial plane is able to nose dive and do a sharp 90 degree turn in order to land at an airport right in the heart of a city filled with tall buildings XD . Cause currently they are doing exactly that. XP I just wanted so that the planes look like they actually are landing properly (visually speaking) i wanted to have that small sense of realism. Sides If i was planning on realism i wouldn't have bothered using Somy's buildings or the Lumiere cosmoliners (long white things near the bottom edge). Or build an international Space port on the east side of the city (not seen in picture. Posted one on the Rate one image thread). lol

Are you sure its not a plugin problem? Did you try to take out all your plugins and play the cties. Sometimes its probably due to a plugin you have or don't have or a mod you have or don't. Examples are like the landmark with Jobs mod or the Opera house fix for examples. Hopefully someone with more experience comes along and helps you out. I'm also pretty new at this.

Damn those shots are outstanding. keep it up -
$100 for a photoediting program eh ?..well i didn't really feel the pinch of the price (seeing that i don't know the original price) since i got the...umm....how to put this lightly ... the cracked copy which costed me around RM 10 (divide 10 by 3.75 to change into USD$...i think). And it doesn't take weeks to learn since most people learn from experience...which depends on the frequency you use th program. Anyways this pic gets a 9/10. You lose 0.9 points just for the pause mode yellow outline.

You can barely notice the difference though, sharpened it up to make it a bit less blurry. Can't give an origonal though, never saved it. quote> True but correct me if i am wrong, was your intention to showcase your city in a dense fog or were you showcasing the fog? XD I like it a little better since i can see a little clearly. 8.5/10 Try using vivid light under your brush tool to bring out the lighting.

Elaclairee - very, very, very foggy is right. i can barely see any details of your city. 6/10 Lighten up on the greyscale.
