  2. The Village

Welcome! A village that is cut off from the rest of the world is soon to be found out... But wait...what IS the village? Here's our Prologue... World leaders were getting very tense, and were haveing many conflicts. Earth was running out of resources, and people were getting desperate. One man, named James B. Abansadela, decided that there was going to be a major war sooner or later. He grouped up with his pals, and all of them were discussing a plan to creat a small town that would inhabit about 500 people, completley isolated from the rest of the world. The President of the United States approved the plan, and over 300 villages were being built a day after his approval. But...a horrible war started. Many small village were invaded, and others were in panic. But one village...yes, one village, kept peace and order, even through the toughest of times. And here's where our story begins. (for real.) It was a beautiful morning, and I, Artman, am taking a little tour throughout the town. I'll be showing you many plac--- BOOM!!! "The light! It burns!!!" The powerful light makes me fall backwards, in awe of the brightness. So did other people on the same street I was. Many screamed. But I knew we were lucky. The nuclear bomb exploded about a 100 miles away. A bit closer and we would be toast (litarlly) That is an almost everyday event in this village. All of the 506 people that live here say it's normal to see about 2 - 3 bomb explosions a day. I interviewed a man walking to work about the bombs. "You think this is abnormal? Tell you what, buddy. An abnormal day is NOT seeing a bomb explosion," he said. As I was saying before the bright explosion, I am going to show you around town. Here is City Hall, the place where Mayor Abansadela (you remember him, right?) works. Across the street is City Hall Diner. It's on the edge of the pic. That is where I am writing all this down for you to read. Here is the town's only gas station. It was packed with enough gasoline to serve for 5 years. You might say, "That's not alot!" But think about it. It's such a small town, you basically don't need a vehicle. (Unless you are going tip-of-town to another tip-of-town) Notice the roundabout. That once connected this village to the freeway. It was the only way for construction crews, tanks of gasoline, food trucks, and bus loads of people would go through. Now it was demolished, and trees were grown to hide the space left from the road. Here's a zoomed out view of the round-about. Next to it is an old-run down bulding once called the Sign-Up Center. This is where the people came through to verify that THEY were going to inhabit this town, and that they should not EVER leave until permission granted by leader James Abansadela. Here's the town's only food supply. Don't think that apples and some lettuce is the only thing that the people eat! There's a secret that is not been told to the townspeople that under this part of land is a HUGE storage room with all the food anyone could want. Burgers, pizza, bread...you name it. It's all there. Here's a lovely photo of the town's water stupply, or, "Pondy Lake". I just had to take a photo of it. Pretty interesting, huh? There are many secrets in this town to behold. Even I don't know some of them. I will continue writing letters to you all about my trip here. I will try to get you as much information as possible. I will interview the mayor himself, and other people on the streets. I will write down some dangerous situations that I encounter, if I do have some in the future. I haven't even showed some other parts of the town yet. Right now I need some rest. An old granny named Nana has taken me in for some cookies and milk, and allowed me to take the room in her basement for the night. I will soon be writing more letters, but now I need my rest. You may send me letters in reply, if you like. I will be reading them in the morning. -Signed, By the Artman.
  3. Yes, I understand some of you are already like, "Why is this guy worrying about no riots? No riots is a good thing!" I just like them. But, for some reason, I can do the worst to my citizens, and yet no one stirs up trouble. My police advisor says, "Citizens calm and content in Motion CIty (my city)" and everything is like messed up! This is what happened: I first was able to have riots before. I threw in the Lots_of_Riots mod by bones1 (uploaded Aug. 09, '05 under keyword 'riot') to make it even more fun (for me). I was loving it. Then one day no riots occurred. I took out the plugin and still no riots. Then I put it back in and still no riots. So I just took it out. And there is no more riots. I have to say though, it was fun while it lasted...*sob* But anyway, does anyone have an idea as to how or what could I do to bring the destructive side of my cities back on the line? (I need it for my CJ, too...)

  22. The Village

Welcome, all, to this next update! This update will really cover up some stuff I did while I wasn't able to send you any letters... Hope you all enjoy! Continued from the last update.... We (Earl, Jack, and Bruce) stopped by a lonely, eerie highway to camp for the night, while it was freezing cold outside. Oh, how much I wanted a cup of hot chocolate! Anyway, the next day, we got up, had some bread, and continued on our desperate search to look for a safe village to evacuate to. So far, after traveling tens of miles, we had no luck. Time was running out, and any day now that military base could find our only home. Early in the moring, though...we encountered some fog. Yes, lots and lots of fog. I swear, we weren't able to see anything a couple feet from us. But then, while we were walking off the side of the road, we heard some...no, many noises coming near us. It was like...like some type of heavy semi-trailer truck roaring past our way. They were army tanks. Quite a few of them as well. I freaked. But at the same time, I had an idea. "Hey!" I whispered to my group. "Follow those tanks! See where they go!" "Are you freaking crazy?" sead Jack. But for he minute he had a face of thinking, and soon he said,"Fine. But if we get caught, get our heads caught off, then get burned, I swear I will never talk to you again." "Deal." We silently plodded along the road, as the tanks were trudging by. Soon, they lead to a small military base...\ Finally. Civilization still exists. Of course, we didn't walk there as if we were a couple of guys walking down a New York street. We silently and carefully tip-toed our way through the military base. But our lucky luck just ran out (if there was any left, anyway). "YOU!" shouted a firm voice. A tall, strong-looking man came over toward us. "Where are you guys from?" he said, demandingly. "Uh...um...-" I begin, 'till Jack cut me off. "We are distant travelers, looking for a safe place." "Oh, really?" the man said. A couple other soldiers began to surround us. "Well, lucky for you boys, there's a small town up this road. Has all sorts of stuff. A bit on the rough side, but I think you boys won't go so bad in a place like that." "Where are we?" Bruce asked. That's when everyone laughed. "Hey look, the man's not kiddin'!" said a soldier. "Man, your in south Canada, near Toronto. Unfortunatly, that place is not safe no more. It's gone, pal. Just follow that road, and it'll lead you to that town i was talking about." "Thanks," we all said, as we began to move. We first encountered what seemed to be a large forest, but then the road ran into a hill and before we knew it, we were in a tunnel. [note, the above picture is when we exited the tunnel.] Just as the soldier said, we did come across a town. It was really small, but defintly not as small as our little village. We soon checked into a small motel near the center of town, and we came back out again to explore the town: [i took some pictures] Below is the center of town (with our motel appearing on the top-left corner witht he blue windows): (Zoomed-out pic below) (Notice that p

That third-to-last pic looked almost like some traffic accident...man that is a mess guy in car,"screw this, i'm walkin to work." 10 min later Boss:"John, why are you late to work?!" John:"look outside the window, pal, and you tell me"
  25. The Village

Hello, all... I'm back. Really. But this is not a REAL update. First of all, I got my pictures, and I got my story. Now I just need to upload. Problem is though...ImageShack is way too slow! Does anyone know of a reliable image uploader? Is Photobucket any good? Thanks, the Artman (P.S. Our plane crashed. We fell somewhere over Providence, Rhode Island. At least, that's where I think we are... We suffered minor injuries, with one of the guys knocked out for a minute or two...)
