Amazing work here, Haljackey . I can't wait to see what develops there, but I'm sure the Sims will have a good network to drive on I'll be waiting....

Go for it, abracadabraz85! I would recommend the SFBT's Seasonal Woods. They are displayed well in my own Patrician Showcase. I like how you are incorporating the RHW into your cities. For more about the RHW, you should look at Haljackey's Greater Terran Region and the Show Us Your Interchanges! thread. He has done some fantastic work, and others have as well. I find sometimes that a complete reconstruction and massive improvement of a city or an entire region can help tremendously, even if you have to demolish a lot to do it. Don't give up on Ogdenville - when it started it might not have been the best - but after your improvements it became a lot better. It is definetly one of the newer CJ's that have that classic "feel" to them. I wish your region and it's mayor the best of luck.

Oh, I didn't zoom out more, but it did look like one . Anyway, here's a pic of I-270: It looks more like mine than I-395. I'll have some more in the coming days.

Now 20 kilometers from the site, the team heard a strange noise that sounded like jet engines in the distance: When binocular scans revealed nothing, they went back to the site. When they told Patricius Maximus about it, he thought they were suffering from a mirage. Nevertheless, he ordered the immediate construction of fortifications in the forms of walls and patrols.... REPLIES: Smarty218: Thank you. Schulmanator: Yes. They do. I have a new region to show today. It is called Patian County and I have been developing it for a long time, and I think it is almost ready to come here: And a transit view: Click for full resolution. I think I will show the beachfront strip first. Please post comments and suggestions.

An example of what Societies can do
Patricius Maximus replied to baertooth's topic in City-Building Games
It looks just like SimsVille (only it was coming in 2001, remember; it's 6 years late....) -
Nice work with the symbols.

The Great Simtropolis Outage of April 5-6 2008
Patricius Maximus replied to Craig-Abcvs's topic in Simtropolis Related
I had suspicions about an EA plot from the beginning -- it was strange. Also, due to the wide range of the outage, I call it "The Simcity Fansite Blackout". Yesterday, I checked SimCity Central and they were working just fine -- odd. -
The Great Simtropolis Outage of April 5-6 2008
Patricius Maximus replied to Craig-Abcvs's topic in Simtropolis Related
I freaked out because not only did SC4D and ST close down -- but the Sporeum did, too. 3 websites going out on the same day -- I think that was strange.... -
Nice region pics. Kind of looks like mine (a work in progress). Looking forward to more.

REPLIES: dogma 555: Suggestion taken, as you will see Schulmanator: Thank you. jacqulina: I thought so myself. Hahayoudied: You'll see.... The Patricians decided they would send out an expedition to know the surrounding terrain better. They went east of the settlement on a 10-day mission: The odd absence of vegetation at the Patrician site was confirmed to be an oddity when the team stumbled on this valley populated by cactus species: And they pressed on, now kilometers away from the outpost..... Originally posted by: un1 Patricius Maximus, your collector system idea is great! Though, your RHW-4 turns into RHW-2 very often. All you have to do is drag the Rural Highway-4 over the RHW-2 and it will turn into a RHW-4. For curves just drag to the start of the curve and the curve will turn into RHW-4. You might not have done this but as a lookout for future RHW, under bridges you will have to look to see if the yellow line is facing outwards and the white line inwards. When I did my test for the RHW-4 I drove on every on-ramp and off-ramp AND all the lanes to to get maximum performance. These are almost all the things you need to make a perfect RHW-4/RHW-6.quote> First of all -- thank you. Glad that you like it. As I said before, the idea only hit me yesterday. Also, the curve puzzle pieces are what's causing the illusion of an RHW-2 being there instead of an RHW-4. I don't know why the pics enhance that look, it doesn't look like that in-game . Anyway, here's an local/express system in use around the Potomac River in Arlington, VA: I found it using Google Earth. I'll be looking forward to seeing some more creations.

Last night, I was reading about express-collector systems, and I thought that I would make a superhghway for one of my regions. At major points for commuting, slip ramps provide access to other lanes, thereby eliminating the need for U-turns at offramps. Click for full resolution. An overview of the western portions of it: The southern approach to the trumpet interchange, with slip ramps for connectivity: The loop ramp of the trumpet interchange, with commuter slip ramps. (Don't worry: The R$ is just there for temporary experiment purposes, it'll surely be R$$ later): To give the Sims a better path than detouring to make a U-turn, I installed this series of ramps for the evening commute: Please post comments and/or suggestions

How do you feel about the SCS announcement?
Patricius Maximus replied to Dirktator's topic in City-Building Games
I had no idea how gut-wrenching SCS is for me until last night -- when I had a nightmare that I got it. After that, I woke up sweating at 02:00 -- that makes me think that SCS is a nightmare -- and I hope that EA will wake up sweating as well. -
DFO: Very nice idea for the, uh, future developers of this game. Glad you want to help with this project and glad that you registered. You'll find the forums and STEX most helpful for your regions.

I hate to say it, but SCS looks better in the shadows... Great sunset pics -- the sky looks like gold.
