  1. I get the same thing. I've found that if you surround the landfill zone on all four side with a road it works fine. What I do is make four 3x3 landfill sites and make a grid of road around them. Works fine for me that way.
  2. Algiers

    Not too shabby. Good job.
  3. Solar Tower

It's a triangle. Not much else to say. It's OK, nothing more.
  4. Gasoline Prices

Boston area, it's around $3.60ish, more or less. In the last week, I've seen as high as $3.85 and as low as $3.40. But, I filled up two days ago at Sunoco for $2.20! You might already know about the Price Chopper/Sunoco thing, but for those that don't, when you shop at Price Chopper (grocery store, for those that don't know) and use your PC savings card, you accumulate savings on gas. 10 cents off a gallon per $50 spent. I was up to $1.30 a gallon off. Woulda kept going too, but my savings were set to expire that day, so I filled it up. Loved spending only $25 to fill my car from empty...of course, I can remember when it cost me $15...but that's a different thread
  5. Two heroes in Philly

This from Philadelphia, posted on wjz.com: PHILADELPHIA (CBS) ? Two painters are being hailed heroes after catching a baby dropped from the third floor of a burning building in Philadelphia's Kensington section Tuesday. The drama unfolded at about 10:30 a.m. when flames broke out in a three-story row home in the 2500 block of Cedar Street. Two painters working down the street saw black smoke billowing from a home and immediately ran to the scene. Daniel Dangler and Donald Miller said they saw the smoke and ran to the house where they found a father dangling his child out of the third floor window. "I said to the guy, 'drop the kid,'" Dangler said. "The smoke was so thick behind them, I knew they couldn't go back inside." With no firefighters in sight, the father dropped his son feet first safely into Dangler and Miller's arms. "The way I was screaming at him, he trusted me to let that kid go," said Dangler. With the father still trapped, the painters ran to retrieve the ladder from their truck, extending it high enough for the boy's father to escape. The boy and his dad were taken to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and authorities said both were expected to be OK. The fire was placed under control at 10:49 a.m. and the cause remains under investigation. Proof everyday heroes do exist...and from Philly to boot I mean, who knew, right? It's PHILLY. City of Brotherly Love my tush...I lived in New York City, Jamaica Plain to be exact, for two years, and never once got mugged. I visited Philly once, and got mugged, and saw one other mugging. Delightful city >.> And did anyone else get the irony of the painter's name? Daniel Dangler? And he does what? Catches a kid who was...yup, dangling. Spooky.
  6. Ninjas arrested in New Jersey

You know, I can't fault their intentions. I have three kids, two of which are teenagers, and the drug problem scares me at a primal level. I live in fear. Daily. I know my kids are good kids, but it only takes one slip-up to ruin a life. But there are ways to go about it better. Like someone said, a dealer will just pull a gun. What good is a katana against a Glock? Unless your name is Batman, the whole ninja thing is kind of pointless. And what's with all this negativity to Jersey? I am Jersey born-Jersey bred, and really, other than a few select areas, it's not terribly different than anywhere else in America. Sure, we have some wackos, but so does that rather large cluster a few miles east of Jersey. In fact, there are more wackos just in NYC than people in Jersey. Yet, NJ is the butt of everybody's jokes. Why is that?
  7. Show us your car!

Don't have photos of my cars (the DC is acting fluky ). I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid SE: Look a lot like this one, minus the fog lights (I was cheap and didn't option them...wish I had now though) We (the wife and me, that is) also have a 2007 Kia Sedona: I tend not to drive this one...I AM NOT A SOCCER MOM lol (but I am a Cheerleading Dad, I guess) And then, my baby girl. My Dad moved to Arizona, and decided to travel light, I guess. He had, before he left, six vehicles. He only needed one lol. So, he started giving the things away, keeping his '06 Chevy Silverado for himself. Me? I was given his 1986 GMC Jimmy K-15 Sierra Classic. God I love my truck. It's the one vehicle I have that I have an actual photo of: That's my Dad and my son working on her (Dad was adding oil, I think). Next year, the wife and I are trading the Intrepid in for another sedan (I refuse to drive the minivan lol, and I'm not taking the Jimmy into Boston everyday). Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards a Camry, but my wife says they're ugly.
  8. That is indeed it, NetPCDoc....thanks!
  9. military checkpoint

    Just not my thing. Sorry
  10. SC4 Fire plane stuck in hill

funniest thing I've read/seen all week. Thanks for this.
  11. My PC bit the big one, and I just bought a new machine. I am re-downloading my rear end off to get all my stuff back. I am looking for one mod and can't find it anywhere. It's the one that turns all the random stupid-like news off in the ticker, leaving only the useful things (rewards, warnings, etc) So, good simmers, anyone know of this? TIA Mini
  12. Default Small Medical District

Nice one, I like it a lot.
  13. Can't Find It? Ask Here!

Question about the NAM. Do I need to go back and download them all, or will the latest update be all I need? I know, I'm a *****let. Sue me
  14. Seriously, why would any sane man want more than one wife, and so many kids? This is just me, but I have enough headaches in my life with ONE wife and ONE daughter...I don't need any more
