ok so I decided to start a topic for people to talk about anime/manga... so yeah enjoy !

ok so I tested Sim mars beta 3 in linux SC4... and first of all your program couldn't find the sc4 documents folder's location (wine should have told it where it was) the only difference was that it was looking for my documents/sc4 instead of user/sc4 so.... you might want to make that user set able other than that the terrain seemed to load fine... but I couldn't get the mods to work independently of the program you set them up with. mostly what happened was that the terrain loaded fine, region loaded fine, text was missing, everything was missing from the menu's exept for the images on the GUI (not linux problem as it didn't happen before the mod) so yeah... that's about it. other than that though it works good... I'm trying beta 2 just to be sure it isn't a general bug... will report back on results EDIT: Ok so I have DL and tested beta 2 and it works fine... a glitch here and there but nothing un expected I'm posting images as proof EDIT: beta 3 shows up like the image I discribed at the beginning of this post... I couldn't get the program to load Sim mars Beta 3 the normal way so I just put the plugins into the plugins folder... however I'm checking the main SC4 dir to see if there is a folder there as well that I need to transfer... here is a pic of the problem atm If I try to open a city the game crashes back to desktop.

good advice A nony ,moose, though I think that he was trying to use the load as an app function which is still buggy. it is my experience that using a dual boot is much safer, so long as you back up first . but in a case like this, without an XP disc... I would recommend moving to ubuntu as at this point it does everything I need it to and windows just sits there for the games that won't work under wine

ok well I guess it's time for a new topic inside the Anime/manga area.... how about... favorite moments in anime?

well I guess since it's not added yet I will add yet another anime Cowboy bebop: it's a great anime where in the year 2022 a disastrous accident destroys the moon and the fragments make the earth pretty much uninhabitable. now in the year 2071 the series starts off with a group of bounty hunters called cowboys aboard a ship they call bebop and they go around capturing bounties as well as trying to live with their pasts. the main characters of the series are Spike Spiegel: a former member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate Spike is a master of Firearms and hand to hand combat. he is also a skilled pilot and flies a sleek custom designed red mono racer atmosphere capable craft called swordfishII. Jet Black: a former Inner Solar System Police officer and owner of the bebop he was once called the black dog by his fellow officers for his relentless nature. he left the ISSP after being fed up with the corruption and red tape of the organization and turned to bounty hunting as a way to pursue justice. Faye Valentine: A femme Fatal with serious skill at gambling. she stows away on the bebop and joins the crew. much to the chagrin of Jet and Spike. though she leaves the ship several times during the series but her attachment to the crew always brings her back. she pilots a generic heavy spacecraft called Red Tail which is yellow and has been heavily modified with armament and tracking sensors. Edward: a young eccentric computer genius and master hacker. Ed is a girl though her appearance suggests otherwise. she tracked and followed the travels of the bebop long before encountering the ship and agrees to help the crew track down a bounty-head in exchange for becoming a member of the crew. though her intelligence far exceeds that of the crew she tends to act like a child. Ein: a former lab animal Identified as a Data Dog by the scientists who created him. the reason for this is never explained but it is suggested that he possesses superior intelligence he shows this throughout the series by speaking to other animals (and possibly Ed) and perfectly hacking the scratch Website. despite his enhanced intelligence and comprehension the rest of the crew (with the exception of Ed) tend to not notice these qualities and treat him as a common pet dog. Vicious: the main antagonist and grim enforcer of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate: a former friend of spike's and now his sworn nemesis. Vicious sports an emaciated, embittered look. he wields a katana for a weapon and is always accompanied by a strange crow like bird perched on his shoulder. he lives up to his name through his violent actions and his two faced scheming within the syndicate.

ok... well im my expeirence there was a change at the book stores and whatnot so the best place to look for manga would be in the graphic novels section... I usually frequent borders and Barns & noble. for anime... im not sure ? but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try a video rental store?

ok well my favorite anime are: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: it is a 26 episode Japanese animated television series produced by Production I.G and based on Masamune Shirow's manga Ghost in the Shell.The series takes place in Japan during the year 2030, and revolves around the activities of Public Security Section 9, a fictional intelligence department under the Japanese Ministry of Home Affairs. Continuing this series is Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd Gig: it uncovers a significant amount of back-story that was only vaguely talked about during the first series, including information about the last world wars. Between the turn of the century and 2032, there were two major conflicts that changed world politics. The first being nuclear World War III, and the other being non-nuclear World War IV, also known as the Second Vietnam War. The increase in independent states and sovereign regions grew from the chaos of the last 30 years. The planet remains divided and several locations exist on the planet where sovereignty is in question, where no one is really sure who owns or governs what. Another good GIant Robot Anime I really liked was Big O: it takes place is a city where 40 years before hand everyone forgot everything and was forced to start over adding new memories and sometimes recovering old ones. the Robots were more realistic and were slow moving hulks with conventional weapons instead of energy swords and ninja moves like gundam. in my opinion Big o is a good one to watch A really confusing but good one to follow is Serial Experiments Lain: it is about a Girl who begins to see the world unfold and change after she gets a strange Email from a person who had Died a week before. over the course of the series every thing she learns makes her question the difference between the virtual and real worlds and ends up forcing her to make a choice between the two. some of my favorite managa are A.I.love you: this manga is about a computer AI genius who lives alone since his family moved to America and while working on his latest AI #30 a lightning strike hits causing the AI character to come to life right there in his room. this manga follows their misadventures together and the relationship that follows between them as well as the consequences of actually bringing virtual Characters into the real world. another anime/manga I like is Ah my goddess/Oh my goddes: respectivly it's about a guy who after a depressing day accidentally dials the "goddess hot line" and then one appears offering him 1 wish. thinking this is a joke he wishes for her to stay with him forever causing many dilemmas. however as the series goes on the main character and the goddess end up falling for each other. please note that the anime has a second series called ah my goddess (every one has wings) and the manga is still ongoing. well that's a start anyway so lets get this thread cooking

IN stead of an I mat why not just make an I wall? It has all of your apps plus functions as a computer and a TV. Add in touch screen capability and bam! it will be the biggest thing since sliced bread!

I guess its time I responded (sorry for the lack of comment) so all but one of the tracks are taken from Sim City 2000 deluxe (with all Add on packs) the other one is the midi from Sim city classic (win 95) I captured all of these and converted them to MP3 so they could be used in SC4. I hope that clarifies things a bit I didn't change their names because those are the names I know them by.

sorry for the long time but I ran the Sim City classic loop midi through fruity loops and gave it a 21st century update! its in MP3 and here is the DL link is below note that I am planning on also doing the sc2k midi update as well if this goes well sory to anyone who tried to download afew minutes ago I made a minor update and am swaping out the MP3 now

ok for those of you wondering Streets of simcity and sim copter soundtracks are in .wav format so just format them to .mp3 and put them in sc4

5 years ago today the colonists landed in a crater they found the place suitable and named it New Denver after afew months supplys started ariving from earth. soon development bloomed and the colonists started having familys and once everything was stable more colonists came from earth. now I present the colony of New Denver I would like to thank maxis for making sc4 . The sim mars team for creating the mod I used for the martian colony. and Simtropolis for alowing me to post my CJ.

my oldest memory would be discovering the mods on the Stex and the City jurnals (i found the chat later)

hmm perhaps there should be a space port instead of a sea port and a passenger terminal instead of the airport so the space port teleports cargo to a cargo ship in space and the passenger terminal launches a space shuttle or some other remodel
