This is just a modified Police staion in a REALLY big building. I added a parking garage and parking lot so it looks more realistic.Has about 100-200 squad cars and plenty of jobs. Increases disirability in both comm and res. the picture is somewhat difficult to see but most players with skyscrapers in their cities should recognize this.Enjoi! -

Do airports in different cities complement each other?
Sim_BOB replied to Shukie's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
you don't need an airport in your city though, regardless of how many times your advisors say you need to -
Wow you are going to have a hell of a time recreating all of that.

Problems with jobs/connecting cities

What are you taxing commercial? If you lower your taxes for a bit, the demand should go up, then after they build, you can raise your taxes back to normal -
Problems with jobs/connecting cities

I think you should place the industrial/ commercial on the parts of the city that is right next to the other, so that means if they travel to the other city past all the jobs in the current one, their commute will be longer, so they get jobs in your city. Alot of cities start out like that though, if you have an already developed city, some people will travel to another city until you have more jobs -
Try placing mass transit at the begining and end of your major traffic. Once you do, find out where the majority of your traffic is coming from (e.g. north to south, west to east, etc.) and then place a carpark near the mass transit building that is first used (If north to south place it on the north end). I would recommend subways and bus stops seeing as they take up the least amount of space. Make constructing a highway be your last option, because it is way more expensive and does not improve your cash revenue by any means, and mass transit comes with a profit.

I read somewhere that heavy traffic NOISE helps co$$$ develop more efficiently, but I'm not sure on its accuracy.

You needn't take it any further, sir. You've proved to me that all this ultraviolence and killing is wrong, wrong, and terribly wrong. I've learned me lesson, sir. I've seen now what I've never seen before. I'm cured! Praise Bog! I'm cured! -

They have disasters in the game, and they have a picture somewhere of a carnival on fire. (thank god!) but by viewing the new 19 minute candy land video, I have come to believe that they will be spontaneous and will occur at any time during the game.

I don't know if airports can be abandoned, but alot of the larger lots like the golf course, university, and airports have alot of crime for some unknown reason

looks really good! i'm definitely following this one -
Try taking out that building, and seeing how the city runs. A highly populated city does lag on almost all computers. If that doesn't work then definitely just reboot your computer, and things should go nicely.

I started a city with one 1x2 Industry, Residential and Commercial. I had a small clinic, a police kiosk, a water tower and a windmill. The road was three tiles long. It lasted for 46 game years, at which point i got very bored and quit

Apparently my highways tunnel has some sort of vortex also if you free drive and your on that tiny little avenue and you press shift so your not stuck to the roads you can go from onto of the highway tunnel to on the highway if you drive in the direction of the blue tunnel

Haha you're welcome tahill, but I'll have you know my real name is not bob. I made this user name in 2003 so I could download from STEX, and I recently started playing again
