hkabat-forum-threads Bixel's HK/ASIA Residential Construction Showcase
Cockatoo replied to bixel's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Just another fantastic BAT from Bixel! Is there another Bank of China tower in Hong Kong, I didn't know anyway looks great as always -

You guy's gotta check this out! I've never seen anything like it but it's amazing A 3D map of Hong Kong... I've decided that with this new tool I'm going to try and make this CJ realistic down to the single building. No more stupid bulrred Google Earth! It takes a while to load but It's worth it for anyone who is interested in seeing a proper Hong Kong map. Next update will be of the fixed Union Square (The Harbour Side, The Arch, The ICC3 Construction ect.) If only SCS could look like this but with better road and water textures. http://hongkong.edushi.com/en/

Of what I've seen so far realistic is the best word to describe this CJ We're gonna need some day time pic's though to get a real good look at the city.
-
Not to bad. I'd use some better quality images. Looks like you're mayor rating needs a bit of work, lol

Okay, problems solved now! Here's an Image of a small port on the other side of Kowloon (This area is called Hong Hom and is on the other side of the peninsular). All the towers of this area look very similar to some of Bixel's Hong Kong Residential towers (The 4x4 ones). CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE And here's the first proper Mosaic of this CJ! It shows the whole lower part of the Kowloon Peninsular and a bit of Hong Kong Island. Here's the area on Hong Kong Island down past the Central Plaza. You can see Happy Valley in the background, another of Hong Kong's world famous landmarks. All gambling in Hong Kong is illegal except for Horse Racing so thousands gather here every week to gamble millions of dollars on horse racing! No body has BAT'd Happy Valley or even a 'good' horse racing track so my version is kinda off (I just used what ever buildings I had) but it has the basics like the sports fields in the middle. And here's a close up. Huge apartment towers surround the course on either side. The complete harbour in the day... CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE And at night. CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE Replies will be in the next update.

Although I like (some) art-deco buildings...like the Empire State and the Crystler Building I just perfer some of the newer Eastern style buildings like the Bank of China for example. As for the new Western style of building (Glass and Steal) Most of is sucks.

Wow, the canal system's cool! A few of the buildings seem to be out of place (too tall) but if that's you're style then it looks cool.
-
Great work again! Gotta love those parkways with the trees. Only one thing I've noticed and that's we seem to be seeing more of just the landmarks and less of the actual city. I know it's hard to re-create a city every week and a bit just for a CJ but I'd really like to see more buildings (development) and some zoomed out shots wouldn't hurt too. If you're not doing this than that's fine but it's what I'd like to see By the way that picture of the cemetery looks fantastic!
-
Wow, I never knew that Sim City 2000 could produce something of that quality
-
It's a brand new region. That's you're problem! You need to play the game for a while, then you will get demand and then you will get heaps of growth With you're avenue problem that's just a case of a bad transport network.
-
Woah that's a nice port! I'm not gonna read all that but from what I can see form the pictures this is an amazing start! That blue rail station looks great by the way, where did you get it? Or did you BAT it?
-
Wow, that is nice. Cool viedo, looks like you've put a lot of work into this New York re-creation!
-
Well looking great so far but does venice have all those skyscrapers? I don't actually know but I don't think it dose Anyway, why isn't this a City Journal? It should be because you seem to have great city building skills

If you download the SC4 Extra Cheats DLL (Just search the forums for ‘Extra Cheats’ ) this download allows you to plop all growable buildings into the game. Now usually plopable residentials abandon as soon as they are plopped but it you plop them onto existing residential development they shouldn't abandon (as long as you don't plop a R$$$ tower with 6000 people onto a R$ development with 100 people) Hope this will help.
