  1. Large Medical District

It's very hard to make good buildings, I know, but you could've at least had a better arrangment in my eyes.
  2. Updated Landing Strips

I completley agree with why you created this mod and I can't wait for when you realise the larger airports. Even the most upgraded version of the landing stip looks very small. Minus the second runway and large terminal and I'd say the maxis international airport is more the size of a decent and realistic landing strip.
  3. 1.This is my first CJ EVER so be nice. 2.It is a stepping stone for me to release greater CJs of bigger cities which I am currently building. 3.If there is enough demand I will make this city avaidable for download on the STEX as I have only used 4 custom buildings + NAM (all you need to download to play this region is lastest NAM, PEGI artifical trees, A certain tram station, Fenchurch Street Station [Railroad station] and a GLR to Sbuway tunnel entrance [With the optianol dependancy of super demand mod.]) 4.The city names in this region are genrally antonyms of cities from cartoon series. 5.As of now I could not be bothered to do any terraforming. 6.I will try to have weekly updates untill I start a new CJ or when I finish this one. 7. Right then lets get started! Startvillie the capital (Endsville form Grim and Evil), is the large city near the ceneter and is home to the Startsville Zoo, which is made famous for it's very successful Panda Breeding sceme. Then south of Startsville we have Chickenback (Porkbelly, Johnny Test). It is considered C-N's second city no least because it is a modern commercial hub where many of C-N's biggest buineses a based. As you notice from the picture C-N has a highly developed highway system. This connects all the major towns with eachother. Not only that but C-N has a very efficent mass transit system. In C-N there is not convetnianal railroad as it has all been replaced by MAGLEV (yes I know it's actualy monorail I used but just for the sake of my CJ its MAGLEV) ba small section of railroad that still exsists which connects Startville with ajacient countries. This is Startsville inetnatianal airport (next to Startsville military airport, which in times of peace is mainly used for private jets contrary to the name). Anyone entering C-N by air will pass though this airport (though there have been proposals to build a new airport somewhere near Chickenback). Untill the drastic and exstensive upgrade it was treated to, the airport was old, outdated and overused for its capacity. But now with the new, bigger terminal building, an express bus service to the city center, revamped MAGLEV starion (to the left of the airport just out sideof the picture) and plans to exstend the Startville Tram to the airport (replacing the emtpy and execeedingly inadequite subway system) it is a true example of a modern airport.

Anyway, good work. Lookin forward to more.quote> My CJ prides itself with its simplcity. Besides if I use lots of custom buildings, then I won't be albe to post my region on the STEX. I don't know if its been done before but I do want ot post cities on the STEX.
  5. Disappearing Road TrickEl Hwy

This is a perfectly legitamate piece of work albiet a very strange one. But i will no doubt find a use for it. Great stuff. How about a disapearing rail trick?
  6. Welcome to C-N Region

Time for the next update. This time it's about getting around Startsville. any tourist visting Startsville will need know the main points of interest around C-N's capital. Startsville may not look like much to you now but once we starts digging i tell you that there is much more to this city than meets the eye. Let's say your an animal lover. You've flown into Startsville's main airport. Now you want to go to the seemingly world famous Zoo. The Zoo make look far but when you see what transportation options are avaidable to you then it will seem like just a hop, skip and a jump away. I'll a the low down on what I mean. Now if you take a look at this make you should see the Zoo is near the unversity on the otherside of the city. (H=Highway and E=Expressway) Getting around While that make look far Startsville Airport is a transportation hub and you have a wealth of options at your fingertips. Now you could go to the taxi stand at the airport and it should take you direct along the Startville Orbital Highway. Taxi drivers in C-N genrally have a lot of local knowledge and know how to get you places in the shortest, quickest time. But even with this in mind getting a taxi all the way to the zoo can be pretty dam exspensive. So unless you have bucket loads of money this is out of the question. Now you could get the express bus service to the city center. Take a look and some of the sight there. Including the house of the goverment. Once you there and had a little look around I recomend taking Bus Sevice 234 which happens to be a park and ride serivce which terminates across the road from the Zoo. Next we come to the startville Subway. The system is pretty inefficient and won't get you to the Zoo. Having said that though, if time is on your side I recommend this option. Because if you arrive just before lunch at the Airport why have lunch in the airport when you can take the Sbubway train Direct to Startsville West Station where you have 'The new Mall' ajacent. The contemperary mall is full of high end stores and posh returants so if your looking to treat yourself then this is the place for you. Once your done you could visit the Startsville Casino next door but if you want to go Straigt to the Zoo it's about a KM walk away if that. All you have to do is walk up the road and when you get the avenue rouadabout turn left and your there. Finally if you want a minimun fuss aproach to getting to the Zoo you can ignore what I said above and just get the MAGLEV from the airport to 'Startville Junction' which is near where 'The New Mall' is and walk up the road Joseph-Hannah Lane and turn right and your there. Choosing a Hotel After visiting the Zoo you probably, no let me repharse that, you will need to find a good hotel. Now I'd say get Bus Serivce 234 to the city center and look around there. Now there are lots of hotels in the city the average star rating being about 2.5. Now if your a tourist with lots of money to spare I reccomend the Startsville Belle. It is a 5 Star luxuary hotel located just outside of the CBD. It has a swimming pool, gym, spa, tennis courts and a resturant selling the finest of local cuisine. And no espense was spared in its contruction 12 years ago. It has managed to adapt to the changing market and surley has something to suite everyone. However, if you aern't so luckey as to have lots of money there are a lot of good 3 star hotels. One that stands out is the City hotel locacted about 200m from the Startsville Belle on the same street. It's unique selling point is that connected to a undergroud castle built in medevil Startsville. A must see for anyone staying at the hotel.
  7. The Liberty Bay

Well this is different. I mainly see cities from the present or the future. Ah the gold rush era. Nice to see a little piece of history. I like the old black and white photos.

Oh and more updates later today I hope. I will be showing tourist attractions around Startsville. You maybe like when can we get to see the other cities...well all in good time; because Statrtsvillie is the biggest so I want to get it over and done with first. After that I will show i want to show the second city then I will move onto a new section: Towns a villages across C-N
  9. Welcome to C-N Region

Well as I wanted to make the region look densly populated I have not thought of names for very single little village but rather the main points. Soon I will showcase how the Startsville City center redevelopment project is coming along. Startsville though fairly modern, is a 'tired' city. I will also add some statistics. And its 95,000+ inhabitants know the goverment has money to burn (litruly, and the central goverment has openly admitted this) and wanted to see the city center revitalised. After that I will move on to some of the other smaller citys. Enough updates for now. I'll see you soon with more news.
  10. This rapid transit map took me about 1hr to whip up in powerpoint (powerpoint because i was fed up of picture editors). But do you think its of good enough quality for a CJ? It's for part of my city of Cacston. This is an inner city part of Cacston based around a large railroad terminus. Surley it does the job right? This map is in no way finished as more line(s) and stations will no doubt apear but I'm just worried about the standard of it.
  11. Decent Quality Subway Map?

This is the origianol file. I should be btter quality. Yes I'm hoping to make a CJ. I'm using firefox right now. I don't really have any need to upload animated GIF but I did hear you could make animated JPEGs using Java script I think it was.
  12. Decent Quality Subway Map?

I do have acess to picture editor. I have praticaly every free pciture editor out there. What I did was is compress it for a web page because I know simtrop has a size limit on pics. They maybe be why it looks bad. I did not edit it in any way in MS paint I used microsoft office picture editor to compress it. It was origionally a PNG. I do have office 2003 and 2007
  13. Coud something like this (or similer): https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=4267&v=1 https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?p=results :Thats for the rest of his uploads Could something like that be implemented as part of NAM or at least as an opitanol part of it like Rural highway mod? I belive it has a lot potentiol. But I dunno what do you guys thing? An exspansion of the in game highways is something that would be very handy for very large metropolises. At the moment the multi highway mod can be quite complex to use in some places and i was thinking NAM could expand on it maybe.
  14. Can you really? do that with railroad is it a glitch?
  15. In the lastest NAM they have new tram in/on road. How about making some tram stops?
  16. I reckong you checked the box for installing turning lanes/arrows at junctions or you may have changed the default texture. Tell me are you missing roads only at junctions or is it al over the nextwork? Because about a year or 2 ago I had the same problem. I suggest reintalling NAM and checking you *do not* tick the boxes that affect turning lanes at junctions and arrows on one way road.
  17. Hmm ok but at this time the RHW mod, as far as I know, cannot be made into an elevated highway. But I suspect it might be acheviable using avenue and v1 way road overpasses. Thanks anyway.
  18. Detroit General Motors Renaissance Center

Hmm nightlights? But isn't it true the most people wouldn't be working in a building like that at night? But of course having said tht night lights would defenatly be a nice addioton as said.
  19. What's going on?

I see no commercial zoning in that area. Maybe zone somore? Also it just might be that your city is expeiencing the effects of the 'CREDIT CRUNCH' and they are not enugh job for everyone.
  20. I probably won't ever need to put buldings under bridges but being able to put roads and avenues under bridges would be useful. Besides can't this already be achevied uses the overpasses as uncluded in NAM?
  21. RAM

I have 1GB but in the Poll you forgot an option for people who have less than 512MB of RAM. Not that there at that many technologicaly backwards people today...
  22. Rich people like private schools. So if you can place them that will entice people richer people to come. Have you tried the rewards unlocked mod? It unlocks all rewards and lets you place unlimited amounts of each one.
  23. Zoning sizes?

As said the the biggest in game zoned buildings are 6x6 but if you have downloaded any content from the STEX you have have even bigger buildings. I genraly only zone up to 4x4. i.e 4x4 Also notice how some of the low density housing can be seem with different lengths i.e with bigger or smaller gardens/driveways. This also happens with commercial and industryial as the number of parking spaces can change.
  24. highways are unused

This is a post I made in another topic about unused highways. It should still be relavent though it is it more about the use of public transport over highways and vis versa. Having said that you may still find it relavent and I have added an extra bit after this that is unrelated to this first bit: Oh and just a note to save you a lot of reading. Have you downloaded the SC4 patch? because that has some tranportation fixes. i.e sims used to take the shortest route but not the quickest and the patch fixes that. This could be your problem. Try it with the patch. Yes, Highways for more realisim but I also sometimes upgrade avenues to highways if they get too conjested. For larger citys highways are necesity but for smaller cities not so much unless you want to gives your sims and fast way (ease of use) to get to another city. Let's say you have one city with just residential zoning and you want to get your sims to the industrial area. Not only that but they are good for freight trucks and can serve as a relief road so they won't go on another road that would otherwise be conjested. As well as this you can try orbital highways as they are always good. Of course if you want sims to take public tranport highways aern't always a good option because yes they can reduce conjestion but they can also, at the same time, increase the number of road users. Yes buses do use highways but I wouldn't advise you to place highways in places where you can easly get sims to take plublic transport. Having said that though you could try using highways as a form of BRT (bus rapid transit), this can be done by placing HOV lanes on any roads connecting to a highway. BRT is bacially bus lanes but the use of the road the bus lanes are on is recrited to only buses (and sometimes couches). These are good because they are faster than conventianol buses but in my opinion they are lazymans mass transit just like road top trams (trams systems that run on raods instead of on a new network). I belive HOV lanes can be found here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=1834 and here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=3199 or here: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=14799 Choose the cone that suits you. I normally have a public tranportation system working along side highways so sims can decide which one suits their needs. Although I do try and have a good bus system to act a counter effect. Highways are needed if you can't be asked to build up a decent mass transity system or if a lot roads in your city are getting to conjested to act as a relief road. Genrally when I do place highways sims do use them especialy when they go across a river, sometimes to the exstent of conjestion (needs careful placing though for maximum usage). But as stated erlier you really only need them for neighbour connections and fast, efficient travel around larger cities (relief roads for ease of use and conjestion reducion) and city orbitals. Try is as well if you want a good highway system its Lakeyboys 'multi highways' mod: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=4267 Ovbiously you need NAM but I assume you already have that. Hope this helps. I am no expert though. quote> Aditionaly have you thought about the fact that road can turn into avenues and avenues can turn into highways. Not only that but 2 one way roads can turn into a highway or an avenue.
  25. Super Demand... help

Firstly frequent saves prevent file loss. And seconly have you checked that the proper infatrucutre is there so that 'super demand' can allow those higher density buildings to develop? You could also try redownloading superdemand.
