Does the new "Star Trek" movie mess up San Francisco?
bakercity replied to diamonddog_74's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I am a huge Star Trek fan and anyone who disses scifi should watch ALL Star Trek. It is all fake. 300 years is a long time for new and different structures to appear. I don't care what this guy thinks, I am going to watch the movie when it comes out. This movie and all others are made up and imaginary of the screenwriters and pepole involved with the movie; including how San Fran would look like in the early to mid 23rd century. Beam me up Scotty. JKB -
F-16's tracking a stollen plane from Canada over the upper Midwest
bakercity posted a topic in Current Events
At 2:30pm Central tine, someone stole a plane from a college hanger at Thunder Bay International Airport and crossed the US border illegaly and tow F-16 fighter jets intercepted the plane at the border and ordered it to land , but the plane refused and flew over Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. The Wisconsin State Capital Building was evacuated as a precaution at 5pm Central. Information obtained from www.jsonline.com and www.ctv.ca and www.wisn.com. The fate of the stolen plane and the pilot are unknown as of 8:30pm Central. This story is still developing. -
F-16's tracking a stollen plane from Canada over the upper Midwest
bakercity replied to bakercity's topic in Current Events
Granted the F-16s could have shot the cessna down, they first need permission to to so by NORAD, butthat is after they can't communicate and force the pilot to land. He flew really close to Madison where the Wisconsin State Capitol building is located, he could have damadged the place or flown towards Lake Michigan as there is a Nuclear Power Plant at Two Rivers, WI or to Milwaukee or Chicago and cause some damage there. My question is why leave the keys in the planes and have the plane all fueled up to go anytime. When he landed in SE Missouri, he went to a gas station to buy some stuff, but where did he get American money when he flew directly from Canada without stopping to exchange currencies (Canadian Dollars to US Dollars). He will most likely to be chatged with Illegal Entery to the USA, but what kind of charges will he face in Canada if he is extradicted back? All I know is the FAA, FBI, NORAD, Dept. of Homeland Security, RCMP, OPP, and other Canadian Gov. agencies are working together on investigating this stupid act. Ultimately, he will face alot of time in prison here in USA or in Canada. I would like to say thank you to the F-16 pilots for doing their job, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. JKB -
