New SCS information from the Games for windows mag i just got
Ntq€310 replied to mbmariogc3s's topic in City-Building Games
i have olny one thing to say "WHAT THE" this is worse than i thought -
DONT EVEN JOKE ABOUT SOMETHING LIKE THAT< that was holiday stuff, not SOCIAL ENERGY STUFF
-
just to say they in the preview they had music, and said a comment about music like when you go to sims mode a certain music comes up, really sounds like the sims
-
Just to say were not talking about a book, the problem with simcity societies is that there's no good defence for the game, have you seen video's yet , reactions are getting worse and if it's coming out this holiday season then they dont have that much time, and im preety sure that that infomation was right, and what's the point in a sims, i mean simcity game where you the majority dont like it, like you said "those who thought there would be a sc5 and it will be great" this is not great, i wish this game was never announced so unless a true simcity 5 never came out it could die in peace, but NO scs(aka sims city societies) had to come out to make go out with a bang
-
well water pipes makes the game more realestic, i think in simcity 300 they STiNKED, but In Simcity 4 they were great
-
in the latest preview they said "polloution can cause GLOBAL WARMING and CUASE MORE DISASTERS, I KNOW HE SAID TORNADO AND FIRE
-
of i dont konw if they do know, but i know they dont care, there making the game for mostly the Extra Large Sim population
-
i didnt see that many, and honestly it dosent defend scs, they could have alot of buildings but many looked badly detailed, and if transportation is bad, or gameplay stinks, then it's not going to matter how many buildings there are, there is honestly no good defence for the game that can't get beat by offence. we have to face the truth, it's coming out this holiday season and there's little chance that graphics, gameplay, or anything will be better or added, they taken away so much, it would be very hard, next to impossible to pull off something big enough, good enough to make fans want to by it
-
i think the population below 7 year olds, or the people who dont have that great of a education, or will buy anything
-
i think they mean, that it's not going to be a normal simcity
-
these days some people will buy anything, so over a million copies will be sold, but smart gaming sites,G4,ect, will most likely give it a bad review, the fact it has simcity on the name will give it a quick million, but will take a turn for the worse in review as most people who played last simcities are dissapointed, newcomers quickly get board with it, and olny a minamal amount of the fans are happy, Ea makes there money and then it's up to them to leave simcity dead, give it back to maxis(I dont think there will be a spore 2) or make another one with tilted mill, if they do make a offical simcity after SCS and put what the fans wanted into it instant 10 mill plus, so lets see, and wait, for this "THING" to come out
-
that's a preety hard question, i dont know if i could find a awnser, preety much i hate scs, i mean i dont want to go into detail, but they've took away zones, pipes, and otherthings, so whats there's to be happy about
-
well i've lost all hope for the game, they are making it for 2 year olds, simcity fans dont mater anymore and whats worst there saying all this when it's coming out this holiday season, so i dont see it getting any better

How much do old-school SimCity fans matter to EA?
Ntq€310 replied to Gman55's topic in City-Building Games
the sims has millions of fans, lots of new players, and many of the sims games get into the top 10 selling each week, it's smart Business, there not just old school fans that are being effected, take me i joined st 2006, i came into simcity during sc3000, by what i seeing in scs it's not for simcity fans who learn from it, and get better with time, it's for newbies who want to play, be good, and not have to think about what there doing, and also sims fans, im a sims fan and i almost have every expansion pack, thats how they make money, expansion packs, simcity societies will have alot of expansion packs full of useless, or almost useless junk, simcity in turing into the sims!! mabey the sims will turn into simcity(Lol) but that's not going to happen look at this, the week's top-10 best selling PC games list for the week of May 20-26th 1) World Of Warcraft - Vivendi - $18 2) World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Expansion Pack - Vivendi - $39 3) Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars - Electronic Arts - $49 4) The Sims 2 Seasons Expansion Pack - Electronic Arts - $30 5) Starcraft: Battle Chest - Vivendi - $19 6) Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows Of Angmar - Midway - $49 7) The Sims 2 Deluxe - Electronic Arts - $40 The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff Expansion Pack - Electronic Arts - $16 9) Warcraft III Battle Chest - Vivendi - $39 10) Battlefield 2142 - Electronic Arts - $36 The sims is in there 3 times, 3 times, sims mania can get ea rich, and it's sad but simcity beoming a part of that mania -
so far they gave us nothing to get hopeful about and if the game is coming out this holiday season, and those are the graphics i dont see them getting better, from the looks of it they didnt spend much time on it, so dont get your hopes up.
-
just to say, would there be any chance that you could play the game online, https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=367&threadid=89789&enterthread=y, that forum has a great idea, it could also have more marketing potential, we could say "the first online urban simulator, it's a longshot but i really think that that idea alone coud beat simcity societies because online play would be to complex for tm, i know this is not important right now, but it's still a great idea, that we should look into in the future

Ideas for onlineplay in future simcity versions
Ntq€310 replied to aking88's topic in City-Building Games
i always dreamed of a simcity where you could have online play, it would be a great way to show off what you can do -
if we use 3d it would have a low amount of detail, with 2.5d we have more detail than 3d, and detail means a more realistic game
-
this may be sad but Ea is to greedy to give it up, they would want to charge 4o bucks for it, and get 50% of profit, if we get it with out a problem( yea) but dont get to hopefull, i think alot of people would perfer 2.5d anyway
-
if this happens we need better disasters, they make the game funner, disaster have been down hill since sc2000, also simtropolis could host emergency polls to decide what to do with the game, or the developers could decide, every simcity community could help out in someway, the possibilities are endless!

How do you feel about the SCS announcement?
Ntq€310 replied to Dirktator's topic in City-Building Games
Originally posted by: drevilshenchman I don't know if this has been said earlier, but I was thinking about it. Since Maxis isn't making Simcity anymore, that means there are going to be no more llamas! or corny/ stupid jokes!!!quote> there will not be llamas, or stupid jokes, because that would be too complex, and to hard(lol -
if we do this, it would send a message to EA, and MAXIS, and even TM, what we want in simcity, and that we will not let it die
