  1. Wow, I remember working on the zone colors for beta 2 a few years back. Ah, the memories. Did you ever get anyone to have the zone colors appear in the graph view as well? And were you able to get rid of those pesky pedestrians? Anyway, just popped back in to see what all is happening with Simcity. It's nice to see that this mod (and game) is still in progress. Hopefully more iterations will come as well .

It's the monthly cost that was quadrupled. (Think of it as having the subway financed by interest-only bonds.) Unfortunately, the menu item was not changed to reflect this. However, this was fixed in an update to Simulator Z (where the monthly subway cost was increased by an additional 50%), which can be found at the end of this post.quote> Yeah, thanks for the link. I always thought that the subway monthly costs were way too low. Modding doesn't take much time. It's the tweaking that does.quote> No, it's the support after the release...quote> Heh, I didn't really think about that. The reason I don't know, is well, I haven't really modded that much other than getting the stupid colors of the zones to look right in Beta 2 of Sim Mars. I had to tweak the stupid colors like crazy. I also have a slight other problem though. I use quite alot of large city tiles for my cities, but when I fill it up to about 1/4 - 1/2 the city tile, the simulation always seems to stay on that same stupid day. Then, suddenly, the simulator jumps ahead one whole month and freezes again and what not. I know you changed the algorithm of the simulator's "smartness" from .009 to .003. And I know you said this shouldn't make too much of a slowdown, but I almost seem to remember that I could run large city tiles fairly ok with the simulator still running(but slowly) and stopping every now and then, but I didn't think it was this long. The longest "freeze" of time I had in a large city tile was around 1 minute or slightly less while using the "low" version of Simulator Z. It makes Simcity definitely not fun at all, but I haven't actually tested this yet. I just took from what "I" remember. I haven't played simcity for awhile, so I might reinstall the NAM and choose a different simulator to see if the speed changes any. Anyways, thanks for the reply. P.S. Great Simulator BTW Oh, I forgot to kinda tell you the quick specs of my comp to give you more insight. It is a laptop, so that might be a good reason too, but here are my specs. Dell Latitude E1505 Laptop Windows XP with 1.7GH dual core processor (This could be my problem, since Simcity can't use both processers) 2GB RAM (I don't think anything else would be important to mention.)
  4. I installed the Latest NAM and chose Simulator Z. The problem is, the subway is exactly the same price as the original(154$ a segment). I use low on Z by the way. I also have the March NAM to be more specific. In the meantime, I'll probably reinstall the NAM. I don't notice any other unexpected problems.
  5. driveways and paking lots disappearing

Are ALL the graphics on high? In order to see all the props of buildings and such, you need to set the "City Detail" to high.
  6. Screen glitches when i scroll

Can you take a picture on how the screen tears? It would be very helpful. Also, what are the graphic setting in simcity? I know that setting the shadows to high makes simcity's scrolling very slow and skips frames. I correct it by setting it to low.
  7. A problem about the income of commercial taxes

I looked in ilive reader on how the taxes are set up. They are all set to 1, so I'll have to tinker with it for a little while to see if I can get as close as I can to CO$$$.
  8. what does this mean?

Does your game crash at certain points or randomly? Mine usually only crashes if I click on something and I don't let it load long enough before I click the next thing. There is no guarantee that the patch will work, but it may.
  9. Screen glitches when i scroll

Actually, that is very normal for discs to say they don't have any space. Anyways, what type of graphics card do you have? It may not be supported by Simcity. Also, have you turned off any background programs like an antivirus? You may also want to increase your virtual memory right clicking on My Computer, pushing properties>advanced>performace settings>advanced>and then changing the minimum and maximum virtual memory to 4096. Just make sure you have enough hard drive space.
  10. A problem about the income of commercial taxes

Technically, CS$$$ has a higher wealth than CO$$$. I guess CS$$$ has alot of money lying around. If you want, I might be able to edit the income of CS$$$ taxes for you. That is if it's easy enough to accomplish.
  11. My Lagging Problem...

This may help. Originally posted by: crazykid4simcity Well, I have my simcity set at that resolution, but did not notice a big difference in speed by switching back to 1024x768 or 800x600. Mine works fine on my Dell E1505 with 1.7 GHZ Core Duo and 2GB RAM. You also might want to try reinstalling the game. Also, you may want to download Task Assign and Prio. Task assign assigns programs to a certain CPU. Simcity 4 doesn't support multiple CPU's so it may go faster by assigning it only to one. Prio can save and change the priority of a task so it can use more memory, which I have my game at Realtime or Very high. I think Prio may also keep the affinity setting, but haven't observed enough to be sure. I hope that helps! quote>

  13. Demand problems

It all depends on how big your population is and how long it has been since you zoned for CS. I honestly think that the residents demand way too much CS and not enough CO, but of course that's because I like the tall buildings . How many cities have you filled with CS? I usually fill approximately two medium sized tiles of all CS with a medium sized tile filled with mostly high density residential, which can get up to almost a million people.
  14. I would try to reinstall the game. Oh, and have you gotten the latest updates for Simcity 4? That might help also.
  15. playing rush hour game with deluxe cd, can?

It definitely works with Rush Hour. I actually bought the vanilla when it came out and upgraded to Rush Hour later, but the case was cracked and fell off, so I bought Deluxe and It worked just fine. The only difference was the logo after the intro.
  16. Smog remover

Tedhzeer, this mod is for road pollution only. It does not remove pollution from factories, commercial businesses, residential areas, or anything else. Just road pollution. Thank you guys for the support! :)
  17. Easy difficulty with Hard income

    Thank you!
  18. Smog remover

The air pollution removers work differently in most cases though, because most of them remove pollution from the whole map without editing buildings that produce the air pollution to zero. Thank you everyone! :)
  19. Smog remover

That is true JamesDwho, I did search air pollution, smog and car pollution, but no results. Hahayoudied, I have never really used this mod for play use. I just tested it without saving the city I was in, but I don't think it would make pollution go up like some air pollution mods if you remove them because I just made the pollution from the cars zero.
  20. Smog remover

I did a search and did not find any results. Where is the similar file to mine?
  21. Easy difficulty with Hard income

    Version 1.0

This mod transforms the easy difficulty into the hard income level. On easy, the income is multiplied by 1.2. On hard it is 1.0; thus, it is harder on hard. I mad this mod because I still want the starting money and growth as on easy, but to have earning money just as hard as on the hard level difficulty. Note: I have only tested this mod on a Windows computer with Rush Hour expansion.Picture one displays one of my cities started on easy making 202,000 a month. The second pic shows how much income I would get if I started this city on hard, losing nearly 40,000 dollars! I need some budget cuts!
  22. Smog remover

    Version 1.0

This handy little mod will remove the smog from your cities. Note: I have only tested this mod for Rush Hour on a Windows computer. This does include a readme. The first picture displays the city with smog pollution. The second one sees the same city without it. They must be healthier!
