  1. SciFi TV

Who has seen it? Thoughts? Persnally I almost stopped watching it during the first 45 mins, but it definately got much better towards the end. I dont think it will ever replace BSG, but it doesnt seem so bad so far...
  2. So I was wondering what the difference would be between having two highways joining at right angles which merge using either: 1) a standard cloverleaf or; 2) converting them to an avenue just before the intersection then using an avenue roundabout. What kind of 'performance' would be lost using 2) instead of 1) , i.e. commute timewise, capacity wise etc. Would the huge saving in space be worth the added delays?
  3. Optimal zone size?

I would be interested to know what people think is the optimal zone size for an advanced city in order to get the maximum possible density? 4x4 zones seem to be able to support some of the biggest/highest capacity buildings I've seen yet... are there any other zone sizes which support even denser buidlings?
  4. Your real world job?

Forget playing Mayor or God for now, what do you do in real life? I'm a student who has just graduated and I'm going to work as a Structural Engineer in September. What about everyone else?
  5. It's by no means amazing, but it will run it...
  6. Over Population

/wouldn't really mind if there was a benefit based one child policy the world over.

  8. Travel Game

  9. Summer water stuff

I like swimming, but only in rivers/the pool, not the ocean (far too cold for me). I dont like jetskis/banana boats etc either though as I hate falling in the water at speed lol, which also rules out any high diving
  10. How well do you know highways?

    Sweeden.
  11. The First Phrase That Comes to Mind Game

    Talking to a brick wall.
  12. Commute Time - How hard can it be ??

Can you give us some numbers for the commute time? I don't often have cities of only 4000 people, but my cities at 50,000 with roads only have typically a 15min commute time. Do you use NAM? Do you have any other commute time mods installed?
  13. On your old PC navigate to Documents/Simcity 4/Regions Copy the region you want and paste into the same folder on your new PC.
  14. Let's see your Ctrl+V

Ctrl-v'd there and its for mature audiences only.
  15. Your system is not amazing, but it wouldnt be causing all these problems IMO. Do you have a lot of plugins? Sounds like some compatability issues to me... Also intrigued as to what relevance the poll is to the post...
  16. Subways

There is no 'bad' way to do it so long as you have stops where your sims need to go. I typically place subways with a central ring system, and an outer ring system, then join these up with 'spokes' so it looks much like a bicycle wheel. This works well for how I plan my cities with most people either heading into or away from the centre of the map. The rings allow more options for sims if they wish to travel around the edges of the map.

  18. Sunken Highways

For space saving, only have the highway showing as sunken where there are T/cloverleaf intersections, and place all your on/off ramps here too. Then link it all up with tunnels. Works a treat
  19. Diagnoal Bridges?

Road over Highway bridges are often skewed (i.e. diagonal relative to the motorway) from anywhere between 0 to 35degrees typically...
  20. Great cities xl game

    Wha...?
  21. London?

You went to London. You're in love with it. You build it...
  22. How well do you know highways?

    France, along the Mediterranean?
  23. economic turnout:

By next summer no one will be worrying about it anymore, but it won't be close to pre-collapse levels, that will still take at least a good few years, more like 10.
  24. Installation problems

You mention it used to install ok on a different pc, does it "still" install on another PC ok? i.e. is the disc now broken, or is it the new pc which isn't letting it complete.
  25. What kind of cellphone do you have?

Do the buttons automatically change what they show (eg letters or numbers) depending which way its turned? Thats pretty cool...
