one thing you didn't mention is what windows are you running on... XP or Vista the latest version. I have heard that the latest version of windows makes the game a bit more unstable.

Why EA is every serious gamer's nightmare
Imprezza05 replied to sir.rakey's topic in City-Building Games
oh come on just because EA doesn't have a game made the way you want it, i've been disappointed by them aswell but that's just life disappiontment etc. how would you feel if they just didn't make the games at all... -
Originally posted by: Androv I think the difficulty would be in simulating a large enough urban area to support the number of low density houses, to support the medium density, and then the high density. If the simulator can cover this much area then great, but I don't think modern machines are capable of running a 1000km2 city (large cities in SC4 = 16km2). So we either have to reduce the detail of the smaller sections of the city (ie: don't zone streets/individual lots) or allow the city to expand beyond the edges of the map (into the 'region') as was done in SC4. These 'suburb' cities could either be created directly or simply increase in size as the population and density of the main city increases.quote> wow this is explaining what i think.... but by making the region act as one city you can have the city as large as you like but only work on one or two neigbourhoods at a time. like the population, income, expences and civic services are calaulated regionally. By letting the populace travel freely through each neigbourhood freely to and fro work but only processing what is going on in the neigbourhood that you are in.... by calculating some things regionally then the majority of things done in the neigbourhood if you understand what i mean... this could save processing power. Of course unless this has been implamented in CU allready it is probably too late to put it in. edit: the mistake maxis made was making the region more like and a country and each area like a single city

isn't there a rule saying if you start a thread like this you need a pic to show what you got on this subject... https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=71135&enterthread=y this thread explains it.

my guess is that you are not getting any suburban development because you might be getting too much high rise development, also you may have too long commute times / bad traffic.

Great airports everyone, here are two pics of mine. So this is the whole airport and the 4km runway so far. And this is most of the terminal buildings.

yes it is simple you have to go to the F:\Documents and Settings\Edward\My Documents\SimCity 4\Regions and select the region you want to change. Open up the region file, scroll to the bottom on the folder and find the file named region. It should look like this [Regional Settings] Name = Sardon Pass Terrain type = 0 Water Min = 60 Water Max = 100 Change name = to what ever you want it to be and save the changes So if i change it, it would look like this: [Regional Settings] Name = Haarlington Terrain type = 0 Water Min = 60 Water Max = 100 hope that helps

Residential Density Question
Imprezza05 replied to hitomichan1's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
i allways concentrate res highrises near large traffic arteries close to the city centre / commercial district but as N_O_Body said i allways have a good bus / train system near the highrises. I don't usually have a massive clump of res highrises near each other which also helps stop traffic problems from occoring. -
Is YOUR Plugins Folder Bulging?
Imprezza05 replied to Artman94's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
my plugin folder is small compared to many people 742mb 2005 files and only takes a miniute or two to start the game and another 3 to open a largish city of 33.1 mb with only a 750 mhz processor and 512mb ram (haha slow old pc but still works deceptivly fast) -
warrior that is what he is in about exactly i think. i'm guessing that because the game is lacking that type of roundabout and is possibly making a request for one, haha but he might not be.
-
how do you exit sim city, is it the way it is meant to be exited or the quick way by ctrl alt deltete-end proceses and end sc4.exe? the end proceses bit does thesame to me if i close it that way. and have you tried un installing the game then re installing it ?

Looking For this Side by side tunnel mod ?
Imprezza05 replied to nino71's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
that is not a mod he is using, if the slope for each tunnel is thesame and same lenth long it can be done quite easily... infact i do that all the time, all you need is NAM -
wow amaising work, your canals are awsome and your terraforming, the way you place the trees and plants just looks so natrual. I wish that was a real place i could live in.
